SOG Ultra XR Carbon & Graphite (12-63-01-57)
On 2nd one. First was the gold one and its still in the rotation.
These knives are so light and slicey that they are my most worn most daily EDC choice (light duty).
Highly recommend.

Not for large hands. Fits mine perfectly. I don't know how Vosteed makes a knife of this level of refinement for the money. Buy this knife you won't be sorry.

Buck 112 Slim Select Black (0112BKS1-B/11881)
Small and light enough to lay in the pocket of blue Jeans. Big enough to grip easily with cold or wet hands. Excellent 420 HC steel you can hone to shaving sharp. Blade under 10 cm so no legal issues abroad. Very stiff and sturdy when opened. For all the little daily chores a pocket knife does, this one works in the real world.

This is a good knife and feels great in the hand but for myself I find it a bit too big for EDC. Also not a fan of the clip on the sheath.

CIVIVI Chevalier Cuibourtia Wood Damascus Clad (C20022-DS1)
Guys, do yourselves a favour and don’t buy this knife. From new the lock mechanism sticks in the open position, so the blade just bounces around. Even when it ‘locks’, the blade still wiggles around. Not safe or practical to use.
Contacted Civivi/We, and their response (in broken English), was that it is dirty and I should clean it. When I told them it was brand new, they wanted me to pay to ship it to their warranty center (and provide them with tracking).
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the original packaging from House of knives, so I couldn’t return it.
I definitely regret this buy. Don’t take my word for it though, google it. Plenty of videos on the same issue.

CIVIVI Elementum Dark Green Micarta Black (C907Z)
This is a well made, light and simple knife. Not so expensive that I worry about it. My wife had never carried a knife and asked for one of mine during a trip. I gave her my elementum and she never returned it so I had to buy this one as my second.

Spyderco Para 3 Black FRN Black Blade (C223PBBK)
The standard Para 3 Lightweight—perhaps more than any other regular production model Spyderco—exemplifies the notion that elevated design, meticulous engineering, and flawless execution merit a premium. This isn't to say that the Para 3 Lightweight's materials don't justify the knife's price tag, not at all. CTS BD1N is a perfectly serviceable folding knife steel, roughly in the neighbourhood of 440C and 154CM in terms of performance when it is optimally heat treated and ground. But there do exist markedly more affordable, similarly-sized CTS BD1N locking folders in Spyderco's product line such as the Cat and the Alcyone. Indeed, from purely a materials standpoint, the argument could be made that the Cat and the Alcyone offer better value, as they both have machined G10 scales compared to the Para 3 Lightweight's injection-moulded FRN handle. We can attribute part of this price gap to the differences in their respective countries of manufacture and the associated disparities in labour and machining time costs—the Cat is made in Taiwan, the Alcyone in China, and the Para 3 Lightweight in the US—but I think geo-economics alone paints an incomplete picture. What I think additionally accounts for the gulf in price is the Para 3 Lightweight's Compression Lock and its concomitant benefits to user safety (both the Cat and Alcyone have the Walker Liner Lock).
The Compression Lock is more than just a Walker Liner Lock flipped upside down: it is a bit more complicated to manufacture and its engineering is such that it is quite significantly less likely to fail than a Walker Liner Lock or a Reeves Integral Lock (a.k.a. framelock) when the deployed blade's spine is subjected to extreme forces—there is an excellent video on the Spyderco YouTube channel explaining the lock's mechanism. The arrangement of its components also makes the Compression Lock "finger safe" in the sense that it can be disengaged one-handed by the user without any of the fingers being in the path of the closing arc of the blade.
Of course, your average knife user will probably never find themselves in a situation where the Compression Lock's extreme strength is called for, and most knife guys (and gals) can operate Liner Locks and framelocks with a negligible risk of accidentally cutting themselves. But for those who do want that lock strength and "finger safe" actuation due to the nature of their work (or even just for their own sense of security), then the standard Para 3 Lightweight is an excellent, entry-level option (I did go for the pricier blacked-out version, though, because black goes with everything :D ).

QSP Ripley Stonewashed 14C28N G10 Black/Green (QS160-C1)
It is the blade shape that sold this knife on me.That extra belly upfront has made for a good slicer. Good enough quality steel and a small but decent choil. The handle is grippy enough. Thankfully it wasn’t smaller as it disappears in my bear paws.Very stiff and sturdy clip. Solid crossbar lock. How it will handle alien acid is highly suspect! 😀
