This knife is a cut above others. It is very stylish and is a great addition to my other knives.

Very handy knife. Light enough it’s not even noticed. I’ve always liked Buck knives was a good choice

Needed a bit of love to get it working as smoothly as it could, after some lubrication and calibration the action is incredibly smooth.

Love this knife. Perfect EDC size, nice and light, razor sharp out of the box and good lock up and retention in the sheath. Love the two grip positions with handle and the 1/8” D2 steel holds edge very well. Great value, highly recommend.

Such a great purpose built knife. Sharp, efficient, and aesthetic. Filets fish like no other.

exellent

Je l’adore, il garde sont tranchant très longtemps.

I absolutely love this knife! This is my favourite edc. It’s big enough for hard use. But still small enough to carry everywhere. The axis lock is amazing. Kizer does a great job with that. As well as the 154cm steel is great! Holds a sharp edge and is a very tough steel. This is my third escort as i had the richlite version. But as soon as Kizer brought out the micarta versions i ended up getting both colours. It has great thumb stud action. As well as it’s easy to reverse flick. And who doesn’t love how you can just hold the axis lock or cross bar lock open and just flip it out or flip it closed. This is the knife that checks all the boxes for me. I definitely suggest getting one if interested. You will not be disappointed. If anything i think it may blow you away. What you’re getting for the price.

Good small knife. Blade is very sharp and fits perfectly in any pocket.

Amazing knife!

I purchased this knife to use while culling our roosters. It came sharp and has a nice flex to it. Managed to effortlessly cut my thumb open with it after using it for 15 minutes. Would buy again

Awesome blade

Like the design of the knife it is easy to use nice grippy handles

Interesting but not useful for me generally.

Great little knife

This is my favourite kitchen knife of all time. Could not be happier with this purchase.

It can be said that Ray Laconico—designer of the Sokoke—has a type. A Google Image Search of "ray laconico knives" turns up a panoply of flipper-actuated drop-point folding knives with relatively straightforward handles and a clean, slim overall outline. In one sense, one could make the claim that Laconico's design language has a somewhat limited vocabulary. I don't think this is the case, however. Instead, what I see is iteration; a craftsman and artist continuously refining and improving the expression of a particular design concept through his partnerships with various knife manufacturers.

The Sokoke, in my mind, represents a high-water mark, not just for Laconico's design work, but for Civivi's production quality as well. It is the best front flipper I have ever used in terms of ease of use and consistency of the action out-of-the-box. The blade flips open reliably whether I use my thumb, the side of my index or middle finger, or a modified "light switch" motion (a.k.a. the "reacharound"). For those who don't have the manual dexterity to use the low-profile flipper tab or those who prefer a more traditional opening mechanism, the Sokoke also features dual thumb studs that snappily deploy the blade with a thumb flick or a reverse finger flick (a.k.a. the "Spydie-flick").

And while having two discrete opening mechanisms frequently results in compromises in one to benefit the other, I do not find that to be the case with the Sokoke. It actuates equally well as a flipper or as a thumb stud knife. Making it even more impressive is the fact that I am also able to "slow roll" the knife open using the flipper or the thumb studs. To have a knife open reliably using so many methods requires not just a finely tuned detent, but also a perfect juxtaposition of the flipper tab and the thumb studs as well as proper application of jimping and texturing.

In terms of material construction, this version of the Sokoke offers a very compelling value proposition. Its blade is made from Alleima (née Sandvik) 14C28N, an easy-to-sharpen, highly corrosion resistant, very tough ingot steel whose combination of decent wear resistance and a relatively high potential hardness allows it to support a very, very acute but nonetheless stable edge. By maximizing the geometry allowed by 14C28N's combination of toughness and hardness, a user can conceivably get working edge retention from the Sokoke approaching that of knives made from more advanced particle metallurgy "super steels". The knife's G10 handles feature some slight contouring, which is a nice value-add that isn't always a given at its price point.

The Sokoke is positioned in the market as a budget knife: it is basically a version of the Laconico-designed Esprit made by Civivi's parent company WE Knives, made with lower-end materials. However, I think it far outperforms that budget designation and dollar-for-dollar and feature-for-feature, I consider it one of the best production folding knives anyone can get at the time of this writing (summer 2023).

Overall a very nice system. There does appear to be some play between the base and the upper part. It likely will not affect angles, just something I didn’t expect with this higher end system.
May contact WS if it worsens.

Even nicer in person
