A bit smaller in the hand than expected, but I prefer small knives so worked out well. Same size as spyderco dragonfly. Excellent action for price.

Great fit and finish. Very smooth action, at first, it looks just good but more I use it, more I like. The shape of the blade is very useful and the sharpness is amazing. A perfect edc for me.

WE Zonda Titanium Grey Twill Carbon Fiber (WE22016-2)
Very classy gentleman style knife - scales are hollowed out to reduce weight making the zonda very pleasant to carry - I would prefer a hand rubbed satin finish on the blade over the bead blasted flat finish - but that’s just personal preference- classy strip of timascus down the handles adding a classy touch - buttery smooth action -overall impressed with the zonda - a knife to last generations and be handed down thru the kids /grandkids

Spyderco Lil Temperance 3 Lightweight K390 (C69PBL3K390)
I normally use a work knife for several weeks before forming a firm opinion about it, but despite having spent less than a month carrying the Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight in K390 as my work folder, I feel very confident in my conclusions concerning its design, utility, & material construction: I had the privilege of being asked by Spyderco founder & Lil' Temperance designer Sal Glesser to do some testing & evaluation of the VG10-bladed Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight prior to its retail release in 2022, so I am very familiar with the design (also, I guess this counts as something of a disclosure of possible personal bias affecting my review).

The original, now-discontinued Lil' Temperance 3 (in S30V with G10 handle scales) was designed as a defensive tool influenced by Michael Janich's Martial Blade Concept principles, albeit one with a lot of everyday work utility as well. I can't speak authoritatively about the design's merits as a defensive tool having limited knowledge in that aspect of knife use but I can definitively state that the Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight (which swaps the original's slab-sided G10 handle scales for textured & contoured FRN ones) makes for a very stout & reliable work folder. At 3.8 oz., it is somewhat hefty relative to its deployed length of 7.3" but it is well balanced. The blade stock comes in at 0.16" near the base of the spine but the blade being quite broad with a full flat grind means that it comes down to a very thin BTE (behind-the-edge thickness) in the 0.025" to 0.035" range, giving it similar slicing characteristics to Spydercos with thinner blade stock such as the Para Military 2 & the Manix 2.

The Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight's blade is 2.9" long, a design feature intended to keep it legal in jurisdictions that restrict the carry of folders with blades 3" or longer. But because it has no finger choil & a very minimal ricasso, it actually has roughly the same cutting edge length as the Manix 2, which is a significantly larger knife overall.

The Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight has a broad, mildly contoured handle that provides a very comfortable and secure grip. The handle is long enough to accomodate a full four-finger grip for my medium-sized hands & it looks like it can provide a four-finger grip for those who have large-sized hands as well (those with extra-large hands may find their pinky partially hanging off the handle). The Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight's Compression Lock is easily accessed even while wearing work gloves, & it offers a "finger-safe" locking mechanism that is considerably stronger than a liner lock or frame lock, although it must be mentioned that it isn't quite as smooth in operation compared to Compression Lock folders manufactured in Spyderco's Golden, Colorado and Taichung, Taiwan factories (the Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight is made in Seki City, Japan).

The real standout feature of this model, however—& what accounts for its premium price tag over the already-pricey basic Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight in VG10—is the Böhler K390 blade. From what I've read online, Spyderco's heat treatment protocol for K390 results in ratings ranging from 64 to 67 hRC. The steel's combination of edge stability & wear resistance at that hardness is just outstanding. In terms of working edge retention, the Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight in K390 outcuts anything I have in S30V, S35VN, S45VN, XHP, 4V, Cru-Wear, or M4. And because K390 can hold a stable edge at very acute angles, I can actually get cutting performance from it that compares to knives in ZDP-189, S110V & S90V & isn't too far off from Maxamet & 15V. The only real drawback to K390 is that it is a non-stainless tool steel, but I haven't seen any corrosion on my knife & all I've done is basic, common sense knife maintenance such as wiping away blade crud after use & keeping it oiled. Sharpening K390 isn't for the novice, either, but any sensible person willing to fork out the dosh for a K390 knife should have the minimum skills & tools to keep it sharp.

In conclusion: The Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight in K390 offers a lot of cutting performance & robustness in a compact package, arguably more than what 99.99% of knife users need in a folding knife. But for the knife enthusiast in search of a truly high-performance utility cutting tool, there aren't very many better options.

WE/CIVIVI/SENCUT Plain Titanium Clip Black (T001D)
I ordered this clip to replace the clip on my Civivi Baklash (model no. C801H). I always thought it odd that the baseline blacked-out G10 version of the Baklash would have a shiny stainless steel clip. Besides being a better aesthetic fit for the C801H, this titanium clip offers similar retention to the stock clip while providing more comfortable ergonomics due to its lower & slimmer profile.

It should be noted that this is not a deep-carry clip (unlike the stock clip) & my Baklash sits noticeably higher above the pocket hem with this on. This might be a negative for many other users, but it is an improvement for me: I use the Baklash as a work knife, and I prefer non-deep-carry clips on the folders I use at work, as they are more readily accessible.

As an aside, I'm sure this clip works with more models than those officially listed by WE/Civivi since the screw hole pattern seems to be a common one among many Chinese-made folders (including non-WE/Civivi/Sencut brands such as Kizer, Vosteed Cutlery, and Kubey Knives) but whether or not the screw lengths of the included screw sets will work with models that are not officially supported is another matter altogether. So try to get confirmation for compatibility if you are planning on getting this clip for a knife not listed in the marketing copy.

Oh, one other note: the included screws are T8 instead of the usual T6, which is a definite improvement, as the larger driver interface means one is less likely to strip the screws with repeated use.

Yeah know there is so much love for deep carry clips out there that its easy to forget that its not the only option and sometimes a standard carry is better! Thanks for sharing Zedric!

CJRB Cutlery Ria Natural G10 (J1917-NTG)
My version looks great, feels great, carries great, but the liner lock jambs when you swing it open fast with the thumb studs. After that you need to pry it lose with your other hand before pushing the liner over with your thumb. Other than that the knife seems fine, just not a one hand closer. A bit of a bummer, but not worth the hassle sending it back for another, that might be the same. Just a heads up.

Hmmmm it could be that the main pivot screw needs to be loosened a touch. Its not uncommon for them to ship too tight. Loosened it should slide easier on the liner lock. Feel free to email us at service@houseofknives.ca if youd like to discuss this more though!
