Great little knife with really satisfying flip action on its bearing. Feels really solid. I might pick up the Iridium too just for the thumb stud option.

Nice knife. It deploys and closes smoothly. Blade is sharp right out of the box. My only negatives about this knife are that the thumb stud is a little sharp and tricky to access for LG hands which should be addressed by the team at Knafs, smoothen the thumb stud and notch out the handle scale for ease of access to the stud. It is also a little small in hand as compared to what the online specs would lead you to believe. But as always, HoK service and shipping time are second to none.

Great little, but not too little, knife. Very lightweight, sheath made in USA. Very sharp out the box. I have a few other buck knives in this size range but I like this one the most. The other ones are a bit odd shaped. I even have the leather grip one and I'm thinking about buying the new pro version but that's debatable because this does the job perfectly.

I've left a few reviews on other products and I tend to ramble so I'll try to keep this one short. Fibreglass reinforced nylon handle/scales are textured and feel pretty steady in the hand. The scales don't seem to flex a whole lot as there is steel behind them to give handle some strength. The hollow grind clip point blade arrived very sharp - no need to resharpen from the factory (for me). No wobble in blade - either up/down or side/side. Blade can be deployed by flipper tab or thumb slot in the blade. I tend to use the flipper but you can use your thumb or pinch the slot and flick the handle downward (in which case, the handle tends to come to rest in the palm of your hand). When knife is closed. blade is well centred between the liners. Blade has a nice shape but not everyone likes clip point. It pierces quite well. No jibbing on the back of the blade (only jibbing is on flipper tab) but there is a choil on the blade in case you want to choke up on it (might be a hot spot for those with large fingers). Pocket clip is nice for deep pocket carry without too much of knife sticking out. However, clip would be my only complaint - it is attached very well at the end of the knife but the spot where it touches the handle mid-point seems to have a tiny bit of play. it's a minor thing and I'm probably nit-picking - I'm not worried that the clip will come off and it's definitely not enough to remove a star.
Again, Civivi presentation of their knives is always nice - small case, small cleaning cloth, etc.

Excellent knife set

Looks like a great product I'm going to enjoy, but there's a couple of superficial points that knock a star off the rating.
1: I assume it's because it's been sitting dry in storage forever, but the handle is a splinter factory. I just got back from the shop and gave it a rub of linseed oil. the rag was getting stuck all over the shaft while rubbing the oil in. I left the head to soak and will be rubbing oil on the whole shaft all week. Because of this I am waiting before hammering the axe head on it. I did slide it up without pressure just to see the fit, and I think it might have a gap between the shaft and the bottom of the axe hole (like the shaft is too tapered maybe). Hopefully when I set it in "permanently" it chokes up on the shaft good.

2: like said in the other review, that edge is weak. it's not as round as a splitting maul, but you will definitively want/need to sharpen it more. ( though If you got nothing to sharpen an axe with, why are you buying an axe?)

have yet to try it out in the woods, but I don't see how it can disappoint, unless it breaks in half or from cutting a twig. I'll try to edit the review if I find any negatives after using it properly for a while.
