Benchmade Anonimus (539GY)
I went with the cpm-cruwear. Ridiculously sharp. Not a big fan of the striker slot at the beginning of the blade. I have a ferrous rod but it is too big so I'll have to buy another abs my other complaints would be that when I cut a piece of cloth, it cut most of it but it got jammed on in that ferrous rod slot. Something to keep in mind

Work Sharp Benchstone Knife Sharpener (WSBCHBSS-I)
Had a defect on one of the stones I nice size bump if you will, damaged my knife edge first try. luckily wasn’t one of my good knifes, makes it impossible to keep the right angle to sharpen blades… other then that I like the design just keep an eye out for defects on sharpening stone before using it. It’s sad the price of everything these days and the quality that does not match

Victorinox Classic Red (53001-0.6223-033-X3)
Classic SD SAK knife with a small assortment of useful tools. Again, this was purchased as a birthday gift and very good quality. I think these make great little gifts. Always handy to have one of these hanging off your keys.

CIVIVI Baklash Tan G10 (C801B)
I was pleasantly surprised by this knife. To be honest, I have never purchased from Civivi so wasn't sure what to expect.
The hollow grind blade arrived very sharp, like shaving sharp. The opening with the flipper tab is very quick and smooth. The flip tab has a bit of jimping for grip. The liner lock engages well. There is no blade play at all once the knife is opened - no up/down or back/forth When closed, the blade is centred perfectly between the liners.
When opened, the flipper tab acts like a bit of a guard and follows the curve of the handle very nicely. There is some jimping on the back of the blade for your thumb if you want to choke up on the blade. There is also a choil at base of the blade which can act as a finger choil although it may become a hot spot for those with larger fingers. I have average sized hands and the handle is very comfortable with no real hot spots (including the pocket clip). The handle texture provides a good grip. The deep pocket clip sits right at the base of the handle so you won't have the butt of the knife sticking out of your pocket.
Finally, the presentation. The knife arrives well packaged and protected from damage from shipping and handling. On top of that, Civivi also provides a fabric storage pouch and cleaning cloth for your knife. Maybe this is normal for you but it's new to me. I've been a bit critical of some more-established knife makers who don't take the same care with their presentation. It may seem trivial but little things like this make a difference.
I'm impressed enough with this knife that this won't be my last Civivi.
Hope that helps.

Clinton, I was the same as you when the brand first came in and must say I was impressed. I picked up the Damascus Clad Praxis and its still one of my favorites' in my collection. Thanks for taking the time to write such a great review!

Work Sharp Precision Adjust Elite Knife Sharpener (WSBCHPAJ-ELT-I)
Firstly, I've only sharpened a few knives so this is merely my first impression. It works quite well and does produce a very nice edge. Set-up and use is very intuitive so no real learning curve to using it BUT I do think that it does require some practice to get the best results (as does anything).
I did try all the tri-brasive "stones" and the course ones are pretty aggressive so watch that. Of course, they are diamond and I find diamond can be quite aggressive when brand new. You don't need a lot of pressure when sharpening - just let the "stone" do the work.
The only concern that I have relates to the clamp itself. It seems better suited to a wider blade (especially if you want the blade spine to butt up against the V-block itself). You can sharpen a narrower blade (i.e Swiss Army Knife) in there but you won't get the blade to butt right up against the back of the clamp. You have to let the tips of the clamp do the work. Don't get me wrong - it works but just be aware. I did sharpen some narrow blades but I just had to double check my clamping. Also, keep an eye on any thumb studs during clamping to make sure the "stone" misses them.
The system has a wide range of motion so should be good for most users. Really long blades may require sharpening in stages.
The angle guide works fairly well but if you have concerns, you can run a marker along the blade edge and see if device angle and blade angle match. Once you set your angle, it doesn't seem to wander so you don't need to keep re-adjusting.
The magnets work well to hold the sharpening clamp and rods. They hold everything in place and remove easily when needed. They won't fall out on you unless you get really aggressive / fast in the grinding (in which case, you're probably not letting the "stone" do the work).
Overall, I do like it. It's easy to use and works well. I don't regret buying it. I just haven't used it enough or on enough different knives/steels to give you anything other than my first impressions or observations.
Sorry for the long winded text. Hope it helps.
