Overall Good Knife
Verified Buyer
Cold Steel Recon 1 Spear Point Plain Edge (CS-27BS)
Very good quality knife. Feels better and sturdier than the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 CPM S45VN that I also bought. Only thing that could be better is that the closing mechanism requires pressing down on the metal and it is very stiff.

The spine lock can take a little while to work in but its so worth it, that lock makes the knife almost as strong as a fixed knife!

Nice Blade

Hazaki Pro Utility 6" (HAZ03-PRO-STAB)
The blade is fantastic but the handle is a really small diameter. The handle is nicely finished but way too small for the blade.

Very fair, I think the utility knife is supposed to be smaller jobs with a lighter chop so they probably designed it to be thinner to help be lighter. You are still in the return window, if you would like to discuss please do email us at service@houseofknives.ca

Cold Steel Recon 1 Clip Point Plain Edge (CS-27BC)
This knife really is amazing. Exceptional build quality, fantastic feel in the hand, heavy yet nimble. Super sharp and excellent blade geometry. And the Tri-Ad blade locking mechanism is hands down the best solution on the market. Don’t hesitate to buy this knife, you will not regret it.

Kansept Dessert Warrior XL Korvid (T1030B6)
Comically large knife that’s not really pocket friendly due to its tall blade but it doesn’t stop me from carrying it, just less often than smaller knives. Really versatile despite the blade shape & comfy handle. The pocket clip design is the only thing I would change, the end is way to big imo but it still does the job

Thanks for the feedback, Mathieu! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the knife’s versatility, comfortable handle, and overall design—even if it’s a bit on the larger side for pocket carry. Appreciate your note about the clip; we’ll pass that along to the team!

Kansept Korvid S Carbon Fiber Copper (G2030A7)
Surprisingly versatile despite its blade shape, haven’t failed any task I’ve put it through yet in over a year of rotation with others. Great taco sheat & clip for pocket carry. Good edge retention & comfortable handle if you have thick skin since the millings are a bit on the sharp side. I hope they make an xl version of it!

Thanks for the feedback and repeat business Mathieu! We’re thrilled to hear the little fixed blade has been such a versatile and reliable tool for you over the past year. Glad the taco sheath, clip, and handle are working well for you—your idea for an XL version sounds like it could be a great addition!

Very cool solid design!

CRKT Provoke X Morphing Axe (4141KX)
It’s a really cool design such having a small footprint foldable axe; also it’s very well made, feels extremely solid, super strong lock, no play, nothing, it feels like it can handle some serious impacts.
Only issue I had is that it doesn’t opens easily with a flick of the wrist (like some online videos show), it requires a very strong long swipe to open, to the point it could be risky or even injure your hand.
Maybe it gets better over time after some break-in period, not sure.

Canada post sent it 4600 kms to ontario instead of 450 kilometers to its intended destination. it took a week to get there and has been another week working its way back (presuming they haven't lost it). no complaints with the shipper as it was promptly shipped but have my doubts if i will ever see it

I bought two of these at the same time, one for me one for my dad and I’m truly blown away how capable of this little knife is, and of course it being in D2 the edge retention is unbelievable for the price and I can’t recommend this little knife enough, I would definitely buy a larger version of this knife with a button lock or glide lock or whatever but it comes highly recommended very good bang for your buck.

Thanks for the feedback, Joey! We’re thrilled to hear you and your dad are loving the knife—D2 steel and impressive edge retention make it a real standout. Your idea for a larger version with a button or glide lock sounds like a great concept. Glad it’s such a solid bang for your buck!

Bit of a learning curve to draw the knife through smoothly.

Spyderco Para 3 Salt Lightweight Yellow PlainEdge (C223PYL)
If you respect Spyderco for their no-fuss, utilitarian designs yet need a fully reliable knife, then you’ll love this one. This Para 3 Salt fits very sturdy in the hand with great control whether wet or dry. The multi-directional texture of the frp handle provides amazing grip in any situation. Of course the Magnacut blade is the environmentally bombproof pinnacle of this knife. I’m confident that I’ll have many years of reliable and worry free use with this tool.

perfect edc size! and despite having the opposite of neutral ergos, it's an absolute hand-melter and feels comfortable in every grip. love the contoured jimping around the whole thing, and the ring adds a layer of security when you're really bearing down on material. great sheathe too!
