Spyderco Para Military 2 (C81GP2)
Absolutely amazing knife. From the box the edge was razor sharp, and had an even grind throughout. I’m loving almost everything about it.
The reason this gets 4/5 for me is that the pocket clip was set for tip down carry out of the box. When I removed the screws I found that the threading was not all the way down the screw. When I tried to put the screws in again, they wouldn’t bite in any hole. I have reached out to Spyderco to have new screws sent, but as of now I’m dealing with the inconvenience of being unable to attach a pocket clip to my knife.

Kizer Begleiter Black (V4458A1)
I really like this knife. The action is incredibly smooth, with what feels like a very scecure lock but yet very easy to operate. The blade is rock solid when deployed. It’s not the fastest deploy but it is very smooth.
There’s no jimping on top, but the G-10 handle is very grippy.

Victorinox Rosewood 7pc Block Set (49407US3)
Nice entry-level set. Simple, elegant wood finish. The shears have heft, everything came sharp. Can't go wrong at the price for a young couple starting out.

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Pro 8" Carving Knife (38400-201)
I uually prefer Wüsthof knives but this nice Henckels was on special. I like the convenient size too. In the land of the small roasts and 4lbs chickens 8in. is plenty enough. I can't remember the last large turkey or raoastbeef I made and I won't start doing mechoui in the backyard. I have no need for a saber.
