Wusthof 4" Serrated Paring/Utility Knife - Red (3003r)
IT's the best. I use it to cut my vegetables, it's even better as a steak knife. Cuts through meat, just like going through butter. Mike

Kori Artisan 8" Chef Knife (7801-20)
For most of my life, I was a traditional German knife guy. I felt that most of the Japanese-style knives lacked the heft and weight for chopping and heavier cutting tasks, and were best suited to fine dicing and slicing. For me, the German blades were the real work horses. And then I picked up a Kori Artisan.
The Kori Artisan offers the best of both worlds. The blade is blade is honed to a razor sharp 13 degrees, which is perfect for piercing the surprisingly tough skins of tomatoes and soft fruits. When I first took out the knife, I used it on some freshly picked chanterelles and pine mushrooms. The chanterelles were soft from a recent rain and would have been crushed by a blade sharpened at a more traditional angle. The Kori sliced through them as if they were made of Jello. And when I needed to pan fry slices of garlic, I didn’t bother hauling out my Japanese ceramic mandolin. The Kori was able to cut slices so paper thin, they were almost transparent.
My hands are a bit on the large size and I always felt that traditional Asian knives were too narrow and lacked the heft required to inspire confidence, especially when cutting through tougher vegetables such as pumpkins and other squashes. The gorgeous canvas micarta handle of the Kori Artisan feels superb in the hand and, when using a pinch grip, the Kori is perfectly balanced. It feels more like a finely-tuned instrument than a kitchen utensil.
When compared to my beloved German Wusthof Classic Icon, the blade is not as thick and the handle is slightly narrower. But the Kori feels even more substantial as the Wusthof, not doubt because of the 36 layers of SUS410/SUS43 stainless steel surrounding the ultra hard VG10 core. But even if the Wusthof Icon is renowned for its quality and attention to detail, the Kori Artisan is even more beautifully constructed right down to stunning copper and steel mosaic pin in the centre of the handle. This feels and looks like a knife that will offer a lifetime of faithful service and then be passed on to the next generation
I recently had some friends visit from California, one of whom is related to a sushi chef. When I showed him the Kori Artisan and asked him what he thought it was worth, I wasn’t surprised when he said that it looked like a knife worth between $300 and $500 CAN. When I told him the actual price, he was stunned. Everything about this knife speaks of the loving care used to create it, right down to the box with its magnetic clasp to its foam core to protect the knife. This is a knife that would make a superb gift, but only if I didn’t already own one myself. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I had this knife for two weeks. So far i am happy, it's good quality and so compact, you don't feel it's in your pocket.

Kussi Knife Roll & Tool Bag - 18 Slot (99-151LGB)
Bag in terms of capacity for items is good but the build quality could be better for the interior of where the knives are as my knives have slipped out of their guards and pierced holes quite easily in the thin padding of the bags interior

Kizer Activ Bantam (Ki3404A3)
Beautiful materials but poor execution, handling this knife it seems to lack alot of refinement. Knife feels small in the hand and the grooves on the spine of the handle seem irritating when you flip the blade open, not really sure why there is a stud on the blade, feels counter productive. Would not recommend this knife, buy the gemini titanium instead.

Steel Will Roamer 315 Orange (315OR)
Incredible value for money. I'm a knife collector and have been impressed time and time again by what Steel Will delivers. They are slowly turning into one of the most exciting brands on the market today. this knife came wity a razors edge and a very high quality leather sheath. The quality is top notch for uts price point. I recommend it as an outdoor workhorse. The steel maintains an edge and the grippy rubber handle lends confidence as you use it. It just feels so good in hand and slices beautifully. Keep an eye out on Steel Will and get yourself one... you will be impressed!
