This seat is a vast improvement over the oem. The padding is more comfortable, but the biggest improvement for me, is that it's not constantly pushing me forward toward the battery lid. Much of the extra padding is in just the right place. I was looking for another seat right after I bought the bike a year ago, but couldn't find anything. Thanks Luna, perfect fit, perfect seat, and thanks for listening to your customers and creating solutions to problems for a great bike.

Thought this engine was going to be out of stock a while. I waited a day! So simple to install, but I have already done 3 other bikes. Make sure you get the lock ring tool!

A few thoughts here. There should be a written manual describing how to put the bike together and maintain it. It could be a pdf format so no cost to Luna. The bike came with no information - no manual, no tools, no information on the shocks, not way to test the air pressure and a pump to adjust as necessary, etc. The wheel "spacer" was not labeled and looked like a piece of plastic attached to the plastic shipping brace. Even some minimal clearly labeled information would have been useful. The bike is pretty simple to put together, but the system of relying on crowd-sourced info, basically all videos, is not efficient, and there is no consolidated resource on the website. There was some schmutz in the wire connectors that prevented a good battery connection that resulted in a E30 error. I could not get information on that anywhere. When I discovered the schmutz and cleaned out the plugs the problem resolved but that was a real pain. The seat post did not work at first - had to dismantle and re-mantle it - and now it seems to be working fine. Overall the bike works well. I get the noise issues now - mine is a standard with the "silent" mode. There is a slight whine which is not that bad at all - no bother to me. But noise is a funny thing - it is unwanted sound, and sensitivity varies. Sound that may not bother one person may bother someone else. Overall the sound is minimal. Another questions to ask, is why buy an eBike? I was able to let my daughter use it and we went on an 18 mile mountain bike ride with extensive climbing, which would not have been possible otherwise. She rode on settings 1-2 and I could just keep up. The battery was at 35% afterward. I have used it for quick rides up and down steep hills and a way to get out in nature when I don't have time for a longer ride, but the battery is often at only 25% when I use Levels 4-5 frequently. In terms of separation from nature, I find that mountain-biking is about one order of magnitude removed from walking, in the same way driving is about one order of magnitude removed from biking. The eBike is another, albeit not a full order of magnitude, separation from regular mountain-biking. Something to ponder. The eBike can provide accessibility to nature, which is a great thing - it definitely reduces stress on the lungs for those with asthma or other limitations. I think eBikes should be allowed on all fire roads, at least, but subject to the same speed limits for regular bikes. In the SF Bay Area there are epic rides along Mt Tamalpias, Bolinas ridge, San Geronimo Ridge, Pine Mountain, and other locales. For those long, sometimes 6-8 hour rides, I will still use a regular mountain bike. Even carrying an extra battery could not guarantee power for these long rides with extensive climbs, and the eBikes are so heavy it is not practical to ride with no power. You also don't get nearly as much exercise as with a regular bike. By getting out more often one might get more regular exercise. But the workout I get from using the eBike is only a fraction of what I get from a regular ride and I ride to stay in shape. In general, I find the 1-2 setting to be enough of an extra push when needed but conserves battery power. Levels 3-5 add power and are fun - if distance is not a priority the extra power can get you up some steep hills and into the back-country when you don't have time.

This is a fantastic bike. Great components, solid, stable ride! I generally ride in assist 1 or 2 which is just enough power I’m looking for. I ride about 9 miles with about a 1200 elevation gain. I haven’t tested out the higher assist levels yet but intend to at Tahoe.

I have had this bike on 5-6 medium to hard trails, it is awesome!!

I’m a local bike shop here in Southern California I deal with adaptive equipment so specialized equipment for people disabilities I had a customer ask for a Luna 1000 white kit to put on his recumbent and the bike is awesome kid went on with very minimal effort everything worked correctly and it was a well-made product I will be using them again when I have a custom build

This is my first ebike, I did test drive a 2020 Kona Remote prior to this purchase. My old bike is a Kona 29er full suspension MTB. The Apollo is amazing, I am floored by how powerful the motor is, how smooth it kicks in and accelerates. It is literally everything I had hoped it would be and more, it is a beast, an animal. I ride in east TN, took it out on difficult trails with limestone / sandstone single track with loads of elevation (Norris Watershed Trails), on the low setting of PAS1 it is perfectly suited for moderate to difficult inclines, miles at a time. On PAS5 you literally have to hold onto the bike for your life its so powerful. I am 6'3" 205lbs and have the 21" XL version. I hit 44Mph down a hill on the pavement from the dam, 23Mph on the low side going up that same hill. I rode with a friend on a regular 26" MTB and found that keeping up with him required virtually zero effort on PAS1 in fact waiting at times.
I think the brakes stop but they don't stop like my other MTB with Shimano XT which stops on a dime, this bike wont stop on a dime. Its very quiet, I am super happy and would recommend this to anyone.

I am a Luna fan for life! I had so many questions and concerns when I first got my bike and the Luna customer service team was lightning fast with responses and took care of all of my concerns. The bike rips, I’ve never had a better mountain bike experience in my life and I ride all the time!

OK, I have now had my SurRon-X long enough to do a valid review. I built a 3 panel 600 watt photovoltaic (solar) power system for my pickup camper, with controller, 206 Ahour LifFePO4 battery, power monitor, 2200 watt inverter, etc. I run the bike on national forest and logging roads, when it gets down to 30% or 20% remaining capacity, I then plug the charger into the inverter to replenish the bike battery. With reasonable amount of sun I can also replenish the camper battery daily. It all works as planned. The bike is plenty strong and has more capability than I do. Of course if I were 20 instead of 70 I might push it to its limits but I am happy to use it in a more "sedate" fashion in order live to ride another day.

Purchased a Sur ron from Luna. Was shipped out about 2-3 days after my order. Came to my house fed ex freight with no problems. Fed Ex guy was really nice, let me inspect the shipment before making me sign for it. He also said he’s been delivering a lot of these bikes lately.

10/10 excellent product and required for riding if you are taller than about 5 foot 7 inches. I'm 5 foot 10 inches and it's a great fit with the Luna float seat and the 3 inch riser handlebars. Feels like a new bike already. Took about a week to ship from California to Florida

this bike is insane, can’t wait to customize mine, everything about it is perfect, speeds are incredible just like a bike with handling
