It is very easy to read ! The ability to reset the mileage/time every ride is awesome.

BBSHD kit with 52v 21/amp hr battery, kit came well packaged and works great. Only issue I had is if you remove battery often the magnets are so strong they will pull the pop rivets out. I replaced with larger rivets and all is good. Super happy with purchase.

My background in riding gas dirt bikes is none, and this is definitely the first dirt bike/eDirtBike I've ever owned. I'm loving it so much and I definitely have to say that the Sur-Ron is definitely worth pre-ordering and is definitely worth the wait. I'll mainly be using it to cruise around the small town I live in which resides on the coast on Highway 1. Once I find some nice dirt trails I'll definitely be hitting those up! But in the meantime it'll definitely be a cruising machine!

Awesome bike it's definitely worth the $ and its reassuring that luna backs and warranties such an awesome product.

I was looking for a more powerful e-bike but nothing I could find had the power or range to satisfy me. That’s when I found the bbshd motor kit and the Luna dire wolf battery. I Installed the kit on a Buzzraw X Pedal which is essentially a full suspension Luna banana. However, if you do purchase this kit and are new to servicing bikes I highly recommend purchasing Luna’s 21 piece tool kit because it has all the tools you will need to gut your bottom bracket . The overal installation is very easy as it took about 1 hour to completely install the motor. The performance is the thing I was most satisfied with at 1600 watts of power I am able to hit 43mph. However, with the dire wolf battery doing 43mph a few times a trip will not drain it. After a 40 mile trip through some of Vermont’s mountains I still had 50% battery life and with the 750c display you can see how much range you have with the bike which is an incredible feature. Luna Cycle is simply the best! I have ordered 3 BBSHD kits, 1 Cyclone and 1 Mini-Cyclone kit, and a bunch of parts and accessories from Luna Cycle and I am a very happy and loyal customer.
I have installed a BBSHD on 4 different bikes now (Specialized Enduro, Surly-Wednesday, Specialized-Chisel, and a Santa Cruz-Blur) and each time was different. I enjoy tinkering, so overcoming the little challenges that occur on the different style of frames is fun for me.
Not nearly as much fun as it is to ride once the BBSHD is installed correctly and powered by a 52v Luna Cycle Battery!
For trail riding on the Specialized Enduro, I typically went with 2 Mighty Minis in parrallel. The BBSHD and the Mighty Minis were an awesome combination, super powerful and the batteries always outlasted me.
I built a 21AH battery that I used for my pretty hilly 26 mile commute, typically on the Enduro. That bike was a dream to ride. I never did drain the 21AH battery all the way, but I charged it while at work for the 26 mile commute home each night (just in case!) and I had the Mighty Minis as backup if I wanted to explore on the way home.
So, if you are thinking about ordering a mid-drive conversion kit, this is it. Stop looking, stop thinking about it, just get the BBSHD! You will love it. If you are thinking about buying from another seller, don't do it! Stick with Luna and you will be powering down (and UP!) the trails, roads, hills, mountains, highwa... (you get it) in no time.

Worth it hands down

Seems to work as well, or better than the original throttle. But doesn’t quite fit into my handlebar setup.

I haven’t melted the original nylon gear yet. But after installing the 50 amp Ludi controller. I didn’t want to risk it. So far so good. And quieter than ever!!!

Once you go Ludicrous. There’s no going back!!! Works great, especially when paired with the EggRider V2 display. Makes programming on the go, a breeze! Luna does it again!!!

Awesome battery!!!! Super range, over 100 mi, with some peddling. Handles my ludi 50 amp controller, with ease. Another great Luna product!!!

Bikes a blast to use

Although well designed and constructed, if used as a dirtbike the Sur Ron X is very disappointing. Even with the 60 tooth rear sprocket it simply doesn’t have enough power to make it entertaining for experienced dirt riders. For beginners riding on relatively level ground it would be a good first dirtbike. Max speed is 30 miles an hour and except for the initial start it doesn’t have enough power to lift the front wheel over obstacles. The Killsh forks and Fast Ace shock work well, and with proper upgrades the bike feels stable. However the lack of power makes it virtually unusable as anything more than a beginner dirtbike. Despite all of the YouTube videos showing it racing with gas powered bikes, etc., as an experienced dirtbike rider, I was so disappointed in the SR’s performance that I sold it after one ride.

The parts arrived when promised including the adapter I purchased afterwards with no issues. Installation was relatively simple thanks to all the videos available online. The 1000W motor makes the converted tandem a dream to ride, plenty of power and practically silent operation!

I am very happy with the Sur Ron. The assembly was a cinch and I rode the bike within the hour. The longest part was unwrapping the box. The torque and speed are more than sufficient.
Many people have commented on the bike and ask questions. The workmanship is solid and the the battery life is sufficient to meet an enjoyable bike ride.
I did not like the paper front fender provided. I still have not been able to assemble as a result I was caked in dirt when I rode through mud. I ride the bike everyday after work for 1 hour to relieve stress. The odometer is in kilometers, which I have to convert since I am an American. The tire recently got a flat and finding a local supplier for the tire was not possible. I would like to able to drive to store a buy rather than order and have delivered.
As for that I am very satisfied, I hope the battery will continue to provide the juice to make life juicy!

Original battery purchased in 2017 still has life, but arcing in the charging cable damaged the barrel charging port. Punched the updated version and the Bafang BBS2 is back at it full strength. Great battery with everything you need for install, plug n play!
