A sturdy unit, unfortunately my BBSHD has been modified to the point that staying with a more forgiving nylon gear would have been a safer idea. I installed the Ludicrous gear quickly and without any issues, First ride was amazing, Instant torque and acceleration, I was expecting a lot more noise, maybe it was louder, I just couldn't hear it with the wind whipping by. Next ride, not so good. It preformed outstanding for about another 5km, then: *"Crunchclickclickclickclickcrackcrackcrackgrunt"* At first I had thought I must have ripped the metal teeth off, just like a nylon gear would have. So after the 5km walk of shame, I opened it up to find all the gears intact, however the bearing seat at the end of the stators helical gear had snapped clean off causing the stator to wobble around in the magnet ring and not let the teeth of the helical gear mate tightly to the Ludicrous gear. Whether or not the failure was caused by the Ludicrous gear is debatable, concidering all my modifications have pushed it so close the the edge already, certainly seems to have hammered the final nail. But installing on a fresh motor, I can see the Ludicrous saving you a lot of time and effort replacing those countless nylon gears. We'll see when my new motor arrives.

Always a pleasure fitment was pretty good had to Ben the mountain little and flip the handlebar mount to raise the handlebar but I like that better thank you again

This thing rocks. Switched from KTM450exc... this is just as much fun on MTB trails as the big bike was on atv trails. Delivered per description.

I have purchased a handful of products from Luna Cycle. First build was a BBS02 29er that i gave to my friends son. Now i'm slowly building another 29er with a BBSHD from Luna Cycle and other parts. Thanks Luna Cycle!!!

I have lots of bikes and picked up a Luna X1 in medium for my wife so she can tag along on the trails. She is 5' 7" and the medium is perfect for her. The quality of the bike is very good. The motor is fantastic (750W version). The ebike aspect gives her the power to keep up with the guys even on the most punishing trails. The suspension is better than expected. The only down side to the entire package is the wheel weight. We ordered a custom set of carbon wheels and DT Swiss 350 hubs with SRAM XD drive. Switching out the wheels and cassette probably reduced rotating mass by 5lbs or more.
This bike is pretty awesome. It gives more than enough power and isn't regulated by the 250W Euro limit. It is a great building block with carbon frame to swap out parts over the years to further reduce weight. Normally, when we buy bikes we have some kind of buyers remorse. Not this time. The X1 is worth every penny. It lets my wife go on trails she wouldn't have dreamed. She weighs ~130 lbs and can do 15 miles and still have 90% battery remaining. My final thought is that we tried a 38 oval chain ring but went back to a 38 narrow wide circular. The torque sensor didn't work well with the oval. One other nitpick is that I wish we could tailor the torque assist to be more sensitive or have more range. Not sure how to do that yet.

X1 is awesome! Going up in a steep hill leave those so called branded bikes in a heartbeat. Bar none!

This thing rips. It rips so much, I bought two so my 12 year old son could ride with me. Urban assaults, backyard fun, quick trips to the store, heaving it over whatever obstacle you want, it can do it all. Everyone who rides it comes back with a giggle, and I do every time too. So. Much. Fun.

Good stuff - arrived as expected - tires were better than experiences with CST tires in the past too. Decent for overall street riding and cruising. The guys at Luna are top notch!

Works very good

I was converting my standard mountain bike with a BBSHD and this tool kit, along with the Luna wrench, had everything I needed plus more for any unanticipated repairs down the road. The tools are solid and work great.

I've had my X1 for a few weeks and have ridden it every single day. What a game changer this bike is! I still haven't been able to wipe that stupid grin off my face when I mash the throttle.

It is a great charger! I like the ability to control the charge of the battery to be. 80% to extend the overall battery life.

I live in the mountains of NC and never considered purchasing an e mountain bike until staff at the local bike shop recommended them. Research led me to consider the X1 Enduro e mountain bike. I paid $3K+. Comparable bike shop e bikes were twice as expensive. I received my Enduro X1 a month ago and have been riding it every other day. It’s a great bike, handles the trails well, and is simply great fun. I’m able to do climbs I was never able to do with my hard tail.

I really like this kit. It replaces a powerful but heavy and less efficient hub-motor kit from a competitor.
It was easy to install on my 8-year old GT carbon full suspension bike. There have been no issues with the components. I have hydraulic brakes so I got the magnetic brake cutoff sensors. It’s best to set them up first with a glue gun. Also, I got the better display and also a thumb throttle which works very smoothly and is easy to control. The bike is very powerful on hills and uses noticeably less of the battery than my old kit did.

The only negative is that I had to keep the front derailleur because without it the chain would come off of the front sprocket when I used the lowest gear on the rear derailleur. I have the standard 46 tooth front sprocket and a 11-44t rear cluster.
