Luna BBS02 kit, 1600 miles and still chugging. Thank you for all of the advice, excellent service, and products. Time for upgrades!

This build was a great experience. The people at Luna Cycles are awesome! Kyle even opened shop a little early for me when I visited them on a recent trip to LA so I could get some cables I needed and a cool Luna / NASA T-shirt. They also traded me some cool swag for a bag of Kona Coffee we grow on our farm.

Electricbike.com forum is an invaluable resource. The community is really supportive and can answer any questions you have.

I love being able to support a US company that does right by people. Luna does just that. Great products, great staff, excellent customer support.

Mahalo Nui Loa, Luna Cycles, keep up the great work!

I love Luna cycles great products amazing prices ,and doing innovative things with ebikes

This is my second Bafang install using LunaCycle. All the folks I have dealt with at Luna have been first rate and helpful with any product questions I may have had. Both my conversions performed perfectly and continue run beautifully after hundreds of miles! Thank you Luna for all of your hard work and research efforts. You tell it like it is and back it up!!!

Outstanding experience overall. BBSHD with Luna Eclipse ring, gear sensor, Luna 750c display, 52V Luna Wolf battery (12A). Simple ordering. No shipping or packaging issues. Everything as advertised. Gave new life to a 1998 Rock Hopper, which is my all-weather daily commuter. Ordered street legal, but received hot rodded (for which I'm grateful). 350 maintenance free miles so far over the last 11 months. I usually ride it more like a scooter, drawing a steady 800-900W, which pushes me around at about 25mph and gives me a range of about 15 miles (no pedaling, 250lbs bike+rider). 35mph+ on flats at 1600W.

My only caution is that the magnetically mounted Luna Wolf battery will fall off if bumped from the side. But this was easily resolved by a velcro strap. I installed the gear sensor on the downtube vice the chain stay to keep the grime out (visible to the right of the "D"). It works flawlessly. Installation only took about an hour and the hardest part was removing the old BB.

Great for using to get around in the woods

Final bike has 650B wheels, a Rockshox Pike, 6" travel front & rear, dropper post, 8" brakes. The battery box is mounted at 6 points & holds both rectangular and small triangle batteries. I used the front derailleur mount for a chain roller. The display uses a custom mount that also keeps the wiring tight. I am not a small man, (18 stones), and absolutely flog this bike, other than a couple of broken spokes. The bike cost me $1600 new from bikes direct. the whole build was ~$3K. it's a 25kg silent motorcycle, big fun!

I had a Surly Long Haul Trucker that I loved so chose to convert it to electric rather than purchase a ready made bike. I am so glad that I did! The Surly is a great touring bike but not a light bike. My knees are a bit wrecked after hiking the Pacific Crest Trail not to mention all the other playing that I have done. Knee pain was stopping me from riding my bike as much as I wanted to because I just could not power up the hills anymore.

A bit of assist from my Luna Cycle kit and I was biking everyday again! I bought the 52 volt Shark battery and that covered me for much of my biking but there were a few longer trips that I wanted to do so recently I purchased a second battery. It had been a year and one half since purchasing my first Shark battery. The mounting strip had been redesigned so I could not just plug and play my new battery into my old battery's mounting strip. I figured that I could strap it onto my rear bike rack. Now I can do much longer trips. I only run one battery at a time, with the Anderson clips it is easy to disconnect the motor and swap between the two. I did have to drill a hole in my bike rack so the cord could run unobstructed and un-kinked. Overall, I am really please with my set up! recently I was able to bike from Port Townsend to Bellingham WA. Fun!

The chainring adapter is very well made, out of a seemingly high quality steel. It's completely flat, and the tolerances are quite good for the motor attachment as well as the chainring bolts. Everything fit together easily and snugly, with no "slop". Should hold up very well.

Great quality. I'm having a lot of fun exploring more trails. The power is fantastic, I can go up any hill.

This was a great experience. Arrived on time and all parts went together as planned. Thank you Luna for you great battery design. It made this build so smooth.

Luna advance 52v charger keeps my dolphin pack ready at 80% charge.

Replaced the burnt controller and the worn driving sprocket

I’ve used the stabilizer before and it works well and the grips are awesome.

I love this company. They made quality ebiking attainable without dropping irresponsible amounts of money. I didn't want to waste my money on a cheap ebike that would be slow heavy and unreliable, but I can't justify dropping 4+ grand on something decent. I was able to build a really decent hardtail mountain bike with the BBSHD and the mini cube battery for around $1500. I also got the 36t chainring made by Luna and the shift sensor, all of which work great. I couldn't be happier with how it performs.
I have a family so my riding time is usually limited to a couple hours on the weekend. Before getting the Ebike kit installed that was enough time to do half a loop of my local mountain biking trails. That includes slogging up the hills for 80% of the ride, which isn't really enjoyable to me. Now I keep the pedal assist in a low setting so I still get a workout, but not so much that the climbs are a chore. I also squeezed 20 miles out of the mini cube battery on my most recent ride and probably could have gotten more but I ran out of time so started using more power. The uphill is now almost as fun as the downhill. I also cover about 4x as much terrain on my time limited rides now.
Before my climbs were so hard earned that I would only go down a few runs that I knew would be fun rather than exploring other terrain that may not be worth the climb. That is no longer an issue. I have now seen way more trails than I would have had the time or energy for prior to building my Ebike.
This bike has transformed riding for me. I have quadruple the fun when I'm riding now, and I can do 20 miles in a reasonable amount of time and not come home totally wiped out so I still have energy to play with my kids.
I also really like Eric's (the owner) transparency and honesty. It doesn't feel like he will tell me whatever I want to hear just so he can sell me something. I'm sure he wants our money as much as the next guy, but it just doesn't feel like he is willing to compromise his integrity to get it.

Great, service, products fast shipping

Fun,exciting,Happiness All at the same time

Wonderful mud murdering machine

Perfect fit. Parts were in my hands in Norway after just one week using standard shipping.

Thanks Luna Cycle for the motor batteries to give me pedal assist and help a stroke survivor pedal on!
