I have ridden bikes all my life. Started a on a BMX 20" flying down Mount Tam and the redwoods in the late seventies. Every Sunday an old school bus would pick us up at Wilder Park and take about 20 individual Berkeley Trail Union (BTU) with bikes to the top of trails and meet us at the bottom. It was not a normal school bus more like a hippie bus with the best purple bud direct from Hawaii. Anyway riding my converted Enduro Pro reminds me of those days.

A little about me. I grew up in Berkeley studied business marketing at Chico State. Currently managing Berkeley's recycling program and managing a staff of 33 employee as well as my rental property.

Looking at possibly getting into the electric transportation rental business hear in Berkeley. Have notice a huge surge of interest in the electric bike, scooter, skateboard and even water boards. I have money to invest 100K and resources to spare. Have large secured storage area, four garages for products and equipment. Looking at either purchasing a potable trailer or small store front for sales and rental. I have completed a simple business plan to see if the numbers add up. Maybe start off with 20-30 rental products that can be rented by the hour,day or week. I want to compete with and eventually eliminate all the corporate sponsored ugly Ford Bikes that littler the streets and take up parking spots. My business plan would include rental, sales and service. Are you interested in having a business partner in the Bay area? If so maybe we can meet and discuss the possibilities.

awesome bike just got better! x controller really smoothed our acceleration, gave me 30% more torque, more top end , quieter and very nice control with degen braking. Best of a lot of upgrades:)

The guys at Luna Cycles helped pull me kicking and screaming into the 21st century. I was surprised not to receive any manuals or written instructions. After learning they were all in videos I was off. This bike is a complete frame up build from an Gardener Martin era Easy Racers Tour Easy. Carbon fiber fork, carbn fiber bobbed fenders, Aerospoke wheels, Magura hydralic brakes, and a few custom touches of my own. I would highly recommend Luna Cycles.

The Luna chainring adaptor worked perfect

The picture of my RANS TI-REX front hub conversion shows a T-CYCLE battery tray along the bottom and a red ARKEL bike seat back bag. The battery (different vendor) that came with the kit was too big and heavy to fit in the seat bag, so it went on the T-CYCLE battery tray. To my surprise, your 48V, 17.5 AH battery was relatively light and fit nicely in the ARKEL bag. I just punched a couple of 1.75" grommet holes in the bottom and pass the power wire to an extension wire I made with an extension harness and connection kit I ordered from you. The battery performs quite well. I set the assist for about 50% power on the 500-1000W motor (22Amp controller) and provide the rest with my legs. I've gone 40 miles and still have about 48V left on the battery. The bonus is that your battery is half the weight of the 20AH battery that came with my kit. I ordered your advanced charger - good call. It functions quite well and will allow me to extend the life of this battery by about double by setting it to charge to 80%.

Needed the extra power to get down to the hard sand. The Ultra mid drive is the easiest and cleanest looking way to make that happen.

Overall experience was great, fairly easy and fast. A bit of confusing regarding some features but everything got resolved. Extremely happy with the performance, could improve the user experience around the battery, plenty of better systems out there.

Kit was straight forward and easy to install. Great performance. I used a sram 3 speed hub along with the 9 gear cassette in the rear. Tons of gears! Tons of speed! This is going to be my wife's bike. I plan on ordering a rino. Thanks luna for a great ride

Conversion went flawlessly. Out of the box it went 42 mph on the flat. We programmed to a maximum of 25 mph in order to maximize range. My commute is 18 miles,with a thousand feet of vertical, 21 mph average uses 55% of the battery. I love having the throttle to get up to maximum power and speed off the line, then I I'm able to maintain 24 miles an hour with pedal-assist.

When I drive from Highlands Ranch to Denver, Cherry Creek, without traffic is 35 minutes from door to desk. When I ride, I show up glowing, not sweating, in 53 minutes, door to desk. I'm able to take bike directly onto the elevator and up to my office vs parking in the garage and having to walk up to my office.

Went easily once I figured out what I needed. The only downside is that the throttle is DANGEROUS, since it delivers full power if touchedin advertently while mounting. Have disconnected it.

Drives great op the local steep hill with assist level 1 (of 9) and thumb throttle just barely on. I have to redo the battery mounts, they are thin ABS and starting to crack due to the huge potholes we have around. Replacing the rear tire to a bigger size 26 x 1.75 to take away some jolts. I can even climb smaller hills without motor assist, not that much work at all. Well worth it to convert- this was a spare khs tandem frame. I noticed Luna has an old khs tandem frame for sale, maybe you could fix it up the same way. I need to 3D print a front chainwheel guard.

Never had so much fun on this bike before. The Sondors Original is not a very peppy bike as most of you probably know. I added a Cyclone 3000 watt kit from Luna Cycle and a 7-speed cassette to the rear, which wasn't as difficult as might have been expected. Now I keep it in first gear most of the time and can go up the Forest Service roads around here with no problem. It's a blast on the beach. Watch out for the water though. These electronics do not get along well with salt water and I found (or my wife found) out the hard way. I'm planning to build her own bike from all the parts I have left over from the Sondors Original.

I ordered the bbhsd and battery. It arrived on-time and install went great. I then ordered the Luna wrench and was sent the wrong item. I talked to customer service and they promptly sent the wrench I ordered. I understand that mistakes happen so kudos to the awesome customer support team. One problem I ran into was that the chain kept loosening from the high torque motor so I installed a chain tensioner and it seems to be alleviating the problem.

Had an extra 52V, 24Ah battery that was new just sitting around. Ordered it and it did not fit my Sondors Fat. My Bad, measure twice cut once. SOOO, Luna had these Trikes marked down D/T no battery. Hey, I have Grandkids AND I am only 70. SOOO I ordered one, Zip tied the soft case battery holder on the back and away I went. Until the Zip ties broke. Fortunately I wasn't going to fast. Down to Sportsman's Warehouse I went and picked up an Ammo box. Drilled 4 holes in it and screwed it to the heavy plate behind the seat. Named the Big Wheel "VITAL IMPACT" after the ammo box. Nobody rides it w/o a smile or laughing out loud. What Fun. Thanks Eric and all you guys and gals at Luna. You are the best.

Overall, I had a very positive experience with Luna and this product. I could suggest some product improvement areas:
I ordered the biggest battery pck, which weighs in at 9+ lbs. I fould the magnetic mount idea to be less than perfet. I fbbed a steel bar to join thei battery case to my Giant bike.
Having don that I wanted to deter theft, so I used plumber tape thru two of the slots, which is not a secure mehod. Also, the battery pack had no on offswitch and was not very estheticall pleasing. Another point is I oon discovered that the battery meter symbol on my dusplay was not meant to properly show battery %. So, I found the battery v vs % data and added my own voltmeter using the carging connector. Not such a great outcome appearancewise or accuracy wise. The v vs % relationship is not linear, further confusing the issueof how much batt do I HAVE LEFT. Can I make it up the next hill? Etc. I think the mechnical and electrical/user interface could be done at a higher, factory-like level.
I also had to modify the main battery cable by shortening. I was able to scrounge some 10 ga cable clamps, but again, not a professional way to do it.

Lastly, your feedback questionnaire should have asked "what can we improve?".

I’m really loving this new creation!
It is the most fun of all the e-bikes I have built. BBS02 powered, dual Wolfpack batteries with dual rear brakes. 25mph max, single speed, 50 mile range. The Patriot Sidehack came from Goodwill for $45.

Great that ALL the pieces were included so I didn't have to chase around (for a first time ebiker, that's very important..) Stuff went together and worked great. This thing is a hoot! Looking forward to putting another bike together. Thanks Luna.
