Bafang BBSHD Mid Drive Ebike Kit
Carefully planned BBSHD 120mm build (100mm could work, yet the 120mm compensates
nicely for asymmetrical frame chainstays. Made one custom-bushing.
Fuji Wendigo 2.3 with 19" frame and 4.7" tires.
This is practically a tactical exit bike or sorts, and I am looking into some interesting
features like solar charger and infrared night-vision.
This build has exceeded my expectations by far.
Previously did two BBSO2 builds, a mountainbike Univega Alpina 700 , and a Diamondback Dual Sport. Both these also great success!
Next planning & sketching a vintage style bike with either metal or leather "tank" for
batteries

Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive KIT (HIDDEN/REMOVED)
Not many kits on tandems so it took a bit of planning. Front crank has a chain tension adjusting hub and the chain is on the wrong side so easier to use rear crank. Install was straight forward from there. Just need a 2-ft extension for wire cable to power control head and brake levers with longer cables. Perfect except battery needs to swing left.... into the chain.... for removal but we rarely pull it and the left chain is easy to roll off when we do.
The charger seems to work well but I built a longer cable so charger can sit on a shelf and still reach the battery on the bike. I also learned to turn on the charger BEFORE plugging into the battery pack to minimize the spark on contact.

Great kit that was pretty easy to install and is plenty fast - I've had it up to 29 mph - but mostly cruise at speeds between 18 to 21.
The only modification I made was the addition of a torque arm that I found on-line.

BBS02 Mid Drive Kit with Mighty Mini Battery
I've put about 1500 miles on the kit so far and I've been really happy with it. I used this to replace a moped that got stolen last summer and I've no regrets going electric. It's honestly almost as fast for the top speeds I feel safe hitting in the city and now I get to use bike paths and feel much safer. Only concern is the battery pack life, I've noticed it's taking longer and longer to charge which means one of the batteries in the pack is much weaker than the rest and requires a long balancing charge. Time will tell.

Gearsensor for Bafang Mid Drives
Been riding this Home assembled Trek with a Bafang BBS02 for a little more than a year, mainly as a commuter bike and grocery getter. 1700 miles without the gear sensor has cost me a lot in chains and clusters. Hoping adding the sensor, a new Bling ring Narrow wide upfront will solve my issues.
