Work Sharp Pivot Pro Knife Sharpener
Great product! Love the handle that provides a safe grip to sharpen. Used while deboning a mule deer this year for knife touch up in the field. Super lite and very functional. Great product as always from Work Sharp!

What an awesome little tool! The small compact size makes this a very handy tool that everyone should have in their hunting pack, or access to it for everyday uses. Finally someone has incorporated the small torx bits into a tool for tightening the clips on the majority of all pocket clip knives! This feature alone had me sold. The diamond and ceramic hones are just the right size to "touch up" blades and in my case, traditional type broadheads. The size, weight, and ergonomics were well thought out and designed.

This is a terrific little product. It's extremely handy for touching up a knife when I'm in the field or traveling. I love the integrated torx bits. They are great for tightening up a loose handle screw or adjusting the tension of the opening screw. This certainly won't replace some of the other Worksharp items that I have, but it is a great supplement to the other excellent products from Worksharp. Great value.

Very simple sharpener for what it is. Good to quickly sharpen small knives or pocket knives. Probably could use on bigger knives, but I would go with a better device for nicer knives. The attachments are intriguing to have. Hope to never need to use them.

I received this sharpener and have it in my hunting pack. I've used it on my bird knife and my small skinning knife....in preparation for this fall. Workshop continues to show us their product innovation and mastery of ergonomics. The raised lines on the grip surface really aid in grip control / safety. The size is efficient for a small pack but the abrasive surface size is large enough to service almost any size of knife. The Torx bits are a very thoughtful touch. This sharpener is a MUST for my hunting pack!!

Just got the pivot plus sharpener, sharpened two knives and I'm impressed how well and how quick these blades were sharpened. So much quicker than my old method.

Ideal for pocket knives, which is what I bought this for. I use it indoors only; compact enough to keep in my tool box. Serration tool works as good as any I've tried. Purchased in-store at Cabela's. 'Would recommend.

While I'm not typically a fan of the cross style ceramic sharpeners, this one is small enough it makes up for it. I'll have to wait for next summer to see how well it does on my filet knives in the tackle box, but this is where it will live. I tried it out on a few of my old knives i don't give much love to anymore and it did clean them up quickly. I do however love the diamond rod for the serrations.

I've used this sharpener for almost two months. I keep it in our RV. Not a dull knife in the kitchen! It is compact and gets the job done quickly and efficiently. Works well on serrated knives and multiple different types of steel.

Work Sharp Pivot Plus Knife Sharpener
I had the opportunity to try out a brand new sharpener and boy does it work great. I sharpen two different style knives. My hunting knife and my pocket knife. My hunting knife was really dull and I thought I would be taking it to a grinding wheel to get the blade back to shape. Boy, was I wrong about that. Using the Pivot Plus knife sharpener I ran it through the CONVEX CARBIDES about 10 times. You should see the amount of metal I took off of the blade and boy was it sharp. After cutting about 3 years of metal tags, leather, wood and other items, I never thought I would ever have a sharp knife again. Once I was done with that process, I used the CERAMIC HONE and I can shave with the blade now. One other thing I really like about this sharpener is that it has a TAPERED DIAMOND ROD for sharping serrations on any of your knives. Worked great on my pocket knife. A lot of us guys and some ladies have those small knives with serrated blades on them and this sharpener will be the best thing for you to use to bring the sharp edge back again. Work Sharp Pivot Plus Knife Sharpener
The Pivot Plus is the intermediate size model out of three similar sharpeners: the Pivot Pro, the Pivot Plus, and the Pivot. The Pivot Plus has a bargain price of $7.95, and the other two likewise come in at lower price points than I wouldve expected. First off, I should say that the hardest part of using the Pivot Plus is getting it out of the packagingit is packed up tight! Once thats accomplished, you can see that the packaging card opens up to provide a set of instructions, as well as a link to the Work Sharp website where you can find a demo video: https://www.worksharptools.com/user-resources-outdoor/#anchor-plusAt first glance, the Pivot Plus looks like a lot of the other small pull-through sharpeners, but it has a couple of innovative features. First off, the carbide sharpener has a convex rather than the usual V shape. While this little sharpener wouldnt be the right tool to regrind your bevel from V to convex, it might knock down the shoulders a little. The signature feature, though, is the Pivot Response function. By sliding the red button to the left, you unlock the carbide sharpener assembly, which allows it to move a little as you pull the blade through. The claim is that this allows for more material to be removed and hence is more effective for heavier sharpening. Moving the red button to the right locks the carbide assembly in place and results in less material being removed, and so is better for lighter sharpening. Theres also a (traditional V shaped) ceramic pull-through assembly, which is for burr removal and refinement of the edge after sharpening on the carbides. The packaging doesnt give the angles of the two sharpening assemblies, but the ceramic one is noticeably wider than the ceramic one, which is pretty common for the finishing sharpener on a pull-through.Finally, there is a slender tapered diamond rod which pulls out from the bottom of the unit which can be used for serrations, as well as garden shears and other edged tools.I confess I had pretty modest expectations for the Pivot Plus as Im fairly involved in knife sharpening as a hobby, have lots of more sophisticated (and expensive!) sharpening equipment, and know that carbide pull-through sharpeners are generally looked down on by skilled sharpeners. But I gave it a good test on a dull pocket knife and was pleasantly surprised. While the Pivot Plus wont yield a refined and professional looking edge, it very quickly put a working sharp edge on the pocket knife. While holding the sharpener flat on a work surface, I used a back-and-forth motion to get quicker results. And while this position puts the weight of the knife on the sharpener, you can tilt it up 90 degrees for a few light finishing strokes which will help remove burrs. The ceramic pull-through can then finish the process. I tried the carbide sharpener both with and without the Pivot Plus feature engaged, and with my quick test I couldnt gauge how much difference the feature makes. But with it engaged, I could feel it grab onto the blade a little more and it felt like the resistance was increased, so I suspect it had some effect. A couple of small points: the red button for engaging or locking out the Pivot Response feature was pretty sticky and hard to move at first, but it did break in with some use and got easier. Also, Im used to cleaning off the surfaces of my sharpeners pretty often as the accumulated metal particles will clog them up and slow down the sharpening effect. But its very awkward to do that with this sharpener as the area you have to reach is so small.A feature of the Pivot Plus which I really like is the small tapered diamond rod which can be pulled out from the bottom. I dont have much in the way of serrated blades so havent tried it for that yet, but I used it on several pairs of garden pruners, along with a pair of scissors, and it worked great! The small slim profile makes it so easy to get into tight spaces and I think will be a very handy feature to have.Final thoughts: This is a handy little pocket sharpenersmall and super lightthat I liked more than I thought I would. While it wont give you a world class edge, it can put a decently sharp working edge on a knife very quickly and easily. The tapered diamond rod is a very nice addition and has already come in handy for me. And at the current price of $7.99, the Pivot Plus is a real bargain.

Quick and easy to use pull sharpener that gets the job done. Diamond rod is a nice touch. Easy to carry. Switching from pivot to fixed is a bit more difficult than is should be.

the sharpener does what its supposed to....the rod sharpener works well on serrated sections of the blade...thought it could have used a little better grade of material to build....felt a little cheap in my hands

I really like the serration sharpening portion of the tool. It does really well I felt in that aspect. Did not feel like the straight blade portion of sharpener does well at putting an edge on knife that is dull. Its kinda ok with maintaining a slight somewhat edge but not a hair cutting edge which is what I prefer after every sharpening.

( - ) Not sure plastic will hold up to serious abuse in the back country.( + ) Dead simple to use and get the proper angle with.( + ) Light and small-ish so it could work for backpacking but might be better for hunting.

I was really surprised by this sharpener - in a great way! Compact, complete with carbide and honing positions as well as a diamond rod. I finally found one that fits my Spyderco. The lanyard hole will allow me to clip it into my hunting pack so I won't lose it afield.

Took it on a moose hunt, it was great for touching up my knives when butchering. Put a good edge back on very quickly. I would say everyone should have one in there pack.

Work Sharp Pivot Plus Knife Sharpener
I got the Worksharp Pivot Plus Knife Sharpener recently. Pretty handy little sharpener. Ive seen some kids using sharpeners like this at scouts with my son before. I grabbed my sons pocket knife for scouts and it could not be easier to use this sharpener so I had my son, who is 8, sharpen his knife. He was able to put a good edge on it no problem. We brought the sharpener to scouts and grabbed some knives off the other scouts. The edges on some of these knives were in bad shape. We went through their knives in no time. They all came out with a great edge, nice and sharp. A few scouts had pocket knives that had part of the edge serrated and the rod worked great on these. The kids didnt even know you could sharpen the serrations. This sharpener is small and lightweight, you can easily jam it in a pack and take it camping or wherever youre headed. It is also really easy to use, the kids had no problem using it.
