Just installed this sight on Henry Big Boy. All in all, installation was smooth; notice they elongated the screw hole at front of base a bit, I guess to accommodate variable hole spacing on different Henry receivers. Glad they did; distance between the holes in base was very nearly too short for my particular receiver. I almost broke out the files, was bit worried about the camming forces I was creating as I seated that steel screw into my brass receiver. But it seems to have worked out.

I wish the aperture in this sight (the cloverleaf) was just a bit smaller; and I wish the "points" coming in from top/bottom, and left/right were a bit larger. For my eyes at least, they almost disappear as I shoulder the rifle and 'draw a bead', I think this will be marginally usable in a daytime setting; likely will be very marginal in dawn/dusk light. We'll see. Without the fiber optics on right/left side... this site would be unusable for me, at least. I can see that a more conventional peep hole sight would've been more usable for me. If they could mimic the sights on the M1 Garand... that'd be ideal for me.

Anyway... full disclosure... I have artificial lenses in both eyes (cataract surgery like 10 years back); I now have very good vision at distance, and can also handle the day/day stuff like reading a newspaper, finer tasks at the work bench and the like. But if I'm trying to measure/mark down in the 1/32" range... time to reach for the 'readers'. and this sight is very close to me when rifle is shouldered. Front sight? Sharp as a tack, plain as day.

I haven't fired it yet, that's for the coming week. But I was pleased to see that I could "zero" the sight on a laser bore site with existing front sight (a taller than stock Marbles blade/brass bead). And better, it looks like I'll have some elevation/windage adjustment to work with. The travel up/down/left/right provided by the sight looks to be very limited on first inspection; but it does look like it'll be enough on this particular installation. We'll see soon.

Last comment; this site will suggest a dovetail filler when you select this sight for purchase. I bought it; be aware that it is a cheapie plastic thing with a lot of play in the dovetail slot (my rifle at least, a stock Big Boy). They want you to basically glue it into the dovetail using red lock tight. I used blue, and plan to replace it with the genuine article (steel, not plastic) when I find one. If this installation suites me; I may just 'salvage' one from the sight Henry installed on the rifle originally; bit of file work and some bluing should yield what I thought I was buying, when I order the (plastic) one...

Looks great! Install was easy after watching the video. It’s super solid no play or movement at all! I would highly recommend this if you’re looking to build a modern lever gun! I will be ordering the stock soon!

I’ve been waiting to do this for a while. A lot of friends recommended Ranger point and I’m not disappointed.

I wanted to try a lever action, specifically to see if I can get it under 1 MOA (5 Shot average). This is a perfect platform to merge old and new technology.

Very easy install. Dovetail blank was quite loose, and required loctite to stay in place. Fits flush with the barrel, but would look much better if there was a blue option offered.

Stumbled across this site while watching videos of the Marlin 1894 classic. I have recently purchased a Ruger made 357/1894, and the semi buckhorn sites didn't do it with my old eyes. Decided to give this a shot, and after a range trip yesterday, I can say they work for this old fart. Not perfect, because I have a hard time focusing on things that are close to my eyes, and this is set further back than the original buckhorn rear site. But after some practice I was shooting a 4-in group, which is good enough for me!

Marlin (Ruger) 1894SBL .357: Fantastic fit and finish, tenon and set screws are solid as a rock. The RPP loading gate is also a vast improvement over the OEM part. Note: The RPP tenon did take some significant lapping for the dovetail fit, but the final result is totally worth the time.
