John and his team were absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble.
From the initial consultation to the surgical procedure John remained very approachable and very informative. He made the whole process stress free. We travelled 177 miles each way to have John carry out the procedure we think it was well worth the travel.

Excellent experience. From the initial discussion with Surgeon John M to the experience at the BMI Bury St Edmunds yesterday. All the staff were professional and friendly and made the whole experience very comfortable. The supporting documents prior and post are also very good. Research for yourself but John is an expert in this area and my experience reinforced that. It’s a big decision to make but I would highly recommend these guys. I am confident for a positive outcome in 3 months!

It was better than I thought, everyone was so helpful

From the first meeting over email and the phone through to the operation John was extremely helpful and clear on the process, operation and success rates.

I had contacted John a few times before I had the operation in April 2019 for advice and guidance as unfortunately my wife and I had lost our baby very late in our last pregnancy the day after I had a vasectomy which I had chosen to have due to how ill my wife got with being pregnant (she was hospitalised on our last 2 pregnancies for 15 weeks). John was very sympathetic with our story but still clear on the chances of the reversal procedure as both my wife and I were now in late 30’s and it had been 2 years since I had got the vasectomy.

The day of the operation went fine, the hospital was lovely and clean in Bury St Edmunds and John and the team were very friendly and helpful, payment was simple with a number of choices. The aftercare was also explained extremely well and apart from bruising it was a lot less painful than I had imagined and the recovery process was very quick 7 days to feeling pretty good again and 3 weeks to be almost fully back to normal (just no heavy lifting for a few weeks)

In July 2019 I had a sample tested which showed a very positive result that everything was back working so my wife and I decided to take it easy and just see if it would happen again rather than really push for trying for another child and getting our hopes up.

I was delighted to inform John that the operation was a success and we were able to complete our family in 2020 when our beautiful little girl came along in November 2020.

Without John’s help and expert surgical work this wouldn’t have been possible and both my wife and I are very grateful to John and his team. I would highly recommend his service to anyone looking at having the reversal (not just because it was a success for us) but because the whole process from start to finish was extremely professional, caring and also clear on every aspect and the chances of success meaning we could make this decision on getting a reversal in our own time.

Due to the pandemic we had a longer than anticipated wait for our operation. However John kept in contact throughout. On the day the service was relaxing and really attentive from all the staff and nurses. They really put me at ease. I have to say the thought of the operation had worried me because as you get older more fears creep in however I'm now thinking I had no need to worry, it was all pretty straight forward and I was made to feel totally relaxed on the day.

Mr Mcloughlin and his amazing staff at BMI Bury St Edmund's really made me feel comfortable and looked after. I was nervous about the General Anesthetic but the Anisthatist, the theatre assistant and John really made it no issue. I feel asleep and woke up feeling comfortable and happy. I am now back home and healing well. Fingers crossed but I am sure John has worked his magic. Many thanks to you all.

This is my second reversal that Mr John Mcloughlan has performed on myself seven years after my first and another vasectomy. There is no one else in the country I would have gone too. Mr Mcloughlan is very honest professional and excels in his field. The nicest consultant I have ever met in my life. Highly recommended don't look anywhere else for your reversal. We visited John just prior to lockdown towards the end of March to have a vasectomy reversal and started trying as soon as my partner was healed a month and a half later and were thrilled to have a positive pregnancy test as soon as May, which was only month 2 of trying and are currently 15 weeks pregnant! We can't believe it happened so soon and are very excited to welcoming our new little one in February 2021! We can't thank John enough for his amazing work, expertise and support throughout the entire process, especially given such a difficult time due to covid. Hello, I had the reversal done in December 2018, from the first point of contact I instantly felt at ease, and when the day finally came, (I had booked it in the August) although I was a bit nervous- as anyone would expect, I was greeted by amazing staff who treated my wife and I extremely well so thank you for that. Obviously after the surgery I was quite sore, no bruising though. It was explained on the day of the appointment that if the surgery was successful we would have about 60% chance of conceiving, i had first had the vasectomy 7years prior - it helped that my wife is in her late 20's. We decided against doing the fertility check and went with 'if it happens, it happens'. Well it happened, my wife fell pregnant in the April 2019 just 4 months after the surgery, we was due on boxing day but was 8 days late so she was actually born on 3rd January - we had a bonnie baby girl 9lbs 3oz! Who we named Pippa, thank you so much, we are absolutely delighted. You gave me a chance in being a dad we really can't thank you enough!
