It doesn't feed as well as the round nose, but the corresponding damage is far greater.

This was 325 gr .458 SOCOM FTX. The ammo is accurate and had improved cycling performance over the 300 gr. hollow points. Both are accurate. I appears that the crimp for both is about .001 to .002 inches (as compared to a new empty Starline Brass case). There is just enough of a lip on case these to occasionally hang on the upper bolt locks in my particular gun. There was evidence of small brass shaving between the bolt lock and the chamber after firing. Though to be fair, my SOCOM does not have enough rounds through to be broken in yet (32 rounds total through it, including, these FTX, some XCaliber HP, and some FTX handloads). The more I use it the better it seems to cycle. I put some hand loads through it of a similar FTX load with a heavier crimp of .003-.004 inches and they seemed to cycle more reliably. But as I said, it still have to breaking in to do. This is a firearm issue and is not related to the ammunition. All rounds were checked with a Wilson Combat case gauge prior to firing and all past the gauge with no issues. A little polish on the feed ramp and another 50 rounds or so for break in should clear this issue up.

I recently acquired an Arisaka Type 99 Short Rifle that was made in 1941 at Kokura Army Arsenal in Kyushu, Japan. Since I am not a handloader, I decided to give Xcaliber's 150 gr. ammo a try. I was pleasantly surprised that it is accurate without unforgiving recoil In comparison with other commercial ammo with 170 gr. bullet, I believe the manageable recoil aided the accuracy.

Ordered 100 rounds of Xcaliber 338 LM with 300 gr Berger projectile. 19 out of 100 rounds had issues extracting, contacted the owner Andy and he quickly address the problem by shipping me 31 brand new rounds. Excellent ammunition sub MOA accuracy and consistent velocity. I would highly recommend Xcaliber ammo to anyone and I plan to buy more. They use GWT brass which I've found to be just as good if not better than Lapua brass.

Fast shipping great price. Feed great in my .458 build and very accurate out to 100 yards (that's as far as I tried it but I'm sure it can be accurate out to further distance). Will definitely buy more and you can't beat the price especially if you like to shoot alot of rds like I do.

First time using my .50 beowulf rifle, decided to try out Xcaliber ammo. Great experience overall using 500 gr and 350 gr. Only problem experienced was ftf on the last round, although this may have been a magazine issue. Will definitely be using Xcaliber ammo in the future.

Loved the result!! Only problem was the feeding into the chamber. The lack of rounding on the nose of the projectile caused it to hang after just about every shot and cycle.

I shot this ammo out of a Henry 4570 right out of the box and was rolling cans at 40 yards with no problem I am very happy with your ammo decently priced I will buy again when I need more

Some of the most accurate factory ammo I've ever shot. This target was at 50 yards. Shot in the lower left corner was 1st, then center. After the 4th shot in the center, I thought I was missing the target, so I shot the lower right corner. Turns out, I was on target and just elongating the holes.

The good: pricing and free shipping were great and what initially prompted me to purchase from xcaliber.

The great: very well manufactured and accurate ammo. Sub moa capable. I put 2 on top of each other at 65ish yards. Given the size of the round, being able to cover 2 sequential shots on the paper with a nickel shows me that they are very consistent with their manufacturing process.

The bad: Failure to feed basically every round. I've shot other jhp from other companies with minimal FTfeed issues. I tried gi mags, pmag, lancer, and thermold. I even modified a couple mags to ensure the case wasn't catching the front lip but the issue persisted. I have ordered some factory premodified mags in hopes that this resolves the issue.

Overall, I hope to get the feed issues resolved one way or another so the I can continue to purchase and shoot this ammo.

This ammo is very accurate at 100 yards. It runs flawlessly through my RTD Arms rifle. I plan on purchasing more soon.

The rounds chamber and shoot great from my brand new Radical Firearms 16" barrel upper. Accuracy at 100 yards was between 1 & 2 MOA for a 3 shot group. I haven't run them over my chronograph to verify advertised velocity. I did have FTF issues but I believe fault lies with the rifle's feed ramp, not with the ammunition. I also believe the FTF issues I had were because I was using a lower with a 3 ounce carbine buffer. The upper came on a new Radical Firearms lower that has a 5 ounce rifle buffer. I feel that with a 5 ounce carbine buffer and grinding/polishing the feed ramp, my feeding issues will get resolved.

Purchased three boxes of the 300gr Hrn Jhp. Quick delivery. Went out to the range and sent first five rounds with 1" groups at 50 yards. Three rounds a 75 yards same grouping. Then five rounds at 100 yards at 1 1/2" groupings. I am happy with the quality. All rounds went off absolutely no failure to feeds or misfires. Will purchase again. Tank You!
