Hello,
What I love about VolunteerWorld was easy access to many volunteering programs around the world.
I have volunteered with a program in Colombia and I loved the program, but I couldn't have felt less disconnected with VolunteerWorld for these reasons:
1. Making a down payment was a challenge. When it was unsuccessful, I received an e-mail notifying about that and asking to respond if I have any questions, but the e-mail was a no-reply e-mail. Doesn't help to resolve the issue fast.
2. Once the payment was finally confirmed, I was informed that I will get a confirmation letter, which never arrived. I assumed that further instructions will be in the e-mail as well.
3. Without having instructions, I contacted Varsana to inform them about my arrival and I went to Colombia without having any info from VolunteerWorld.
4. Once I have completed my volunteering program in Colombia, I started getting e-mails from Varsana reminding me that I will still have to pay to Varsana (that was done in person with Varsana) and I was asked to continue with my application while I was long past the completion of the program.
5. When I volunteered with other organisations, the process was smooth and in the end I had a certificate arranged by a Volunteering organisation company similar to VolunteerWorld.

Great programs, but operationally it can be improved a lot to attract more volunteers. I personally do not want to go through the same admin process again. I am still receiving e-mails to inspire and help people around the world and it really feels like just a random promotional material without caring how volunteers are really supported.

This website rocks! I have successfully planned 6 months of overseas volunteer work in 3 different continents using this platform. The website offers the chance to speak with program coordinators directly and is a great resource to find volunteerin opportunities that best fit you. I found it really helpful to be able to see the kinds of work you would be doing in an average work day as well as the free time activities that are available. The website is clear and easy to use and it looks like there are a lot of resources for insurance, help with finding flights and some project coordinators have even helped me get Visas, and still more I’m sure I didn’t use. Overall, this was a very useful tool to help me find some really cool opportunities. It was like a google search engine but for cool volunteering projects

Very great experience. Volunteer coordinator went above and beyond. Staff at the sanctuary really great and was able to learn about the orangutans next to cleaning their night densvand food prepping. Also able to observe them very closely. Loved it.

Great but hate that no one is there to contact you right away. And have to wait for a response even if it’s urgent.

The whole application process went very smoothly and it’s a very easy thing to do. Even when I wanted to change the date of my stay everyone was very helpful and patient even though I was not :)

I really like the site's outlook. The possibility to constantly ask questions is also nice but wasn't necessary for me because al the information was clear and good organized,

So far I have only booked(cancelled, then rebooked again!) so I can't comment in detail about my desired programme. The organisation seems safe and the staff are very friendly and patient. It seems like they have thought of everything so it is great for first time travellers such as myself.

They are super nice and they have a fast response to all my questions.
I'm very happy with everything and excited to start this adventure :)
