Hard Maple Edge Grain Butcher Block Countertop
The quality and craftsmanship in Hardwood's products was evident the moment we opened the pallet. Our edge-grain maple countertops were pristine and perfect. I finished them using Waterlox (tung oil and resins) and a woodworking friend helped with the edge routing and the sink cutout. Hardwood Lumber's mitered corner cuts and fastening bolts were just right, and the maple backsplash finished the counters off. My neighbor has since ordered a butcher block top from Hardwood Lumber for his kitchen island. Heartily recommended. I would be happy to offer a few photos; please let me know how I might do that. Coloration is beautiful and the alignment of wood strips positioned into the slab is perfect. I couldn't give five stars because a very light strip was placed in the center of a small slab, making it stand out noticeably and awkwardly, and couldn't turn over the slab because the underside is definitely the bottomside - on all slab pieces - with open knots/holes. But overall the steamed walnut wood is lightweight, durable and gorgeous.

I ordered a Hickory island edge grain butcher block unfinished. It is 8 ft long and 30 inches wide, a massive work space. I was so excited on delivery day to see what Hardwood Lumber created and they did not disappoint. What a piece of art I now have showcasing my kitchen. When I applied the first coat of mineral oil the wood sprung to life. The colors popped and the grain flowed like a river down the piece. I could not be happier. Every detail was accounted for. I would highly recommend Hardwood Lumber.

Ash Wide Plank (Face Grain) Countertop
I purchased four pieces to make a table top and two benches. I'm glad I did. I could have purchased ash in the rough and milled it, then glued it up, but I would not have gotten glue joints as perfect as these. The color and figure are good -- as good as I could have gotten. The pieces were carefully packed, so they arrived by FedEx in perfect condition. Because I was going to be away, I had to arrange for a specific window for delivery. The office staff was helpful and courteous. All in all, it was an excellent experience.

Good looking piece, took longer than I expected to be delivered however. There were two circular blemishes about 4” in diameter where I assume a suction lifting device was used. In my inexperience I didn’t notice this until after the first stain, I should have done a thorough sanding of the piece prior to working on the table top.
