Perfect Table Top

Rustic Hickory Wide Plank (Face Grain) Countertop
I am a retired custom master cabinet maker. We needed a new table for our breakfast nook and I came up with a design for a pedestal but I didn’t really want the hassle of doing a large glue up for the top so I did some online searching and found Hardwood Lumber Company. I had never used them before but I liked what I saw on their website so I went ahead and ordered a 48” square by 1-1/4” thick face grain Hickory top with the plan to cut the corners off to make it an octagonal top. While I waited for it to ship I fabricated the pedestal using some scrap Hickory that I had and some wrought iron railing balusters.
The top shipped and arrived on schedule. Very well packed. Not a scratch or ding or dent. The quality was excellent. The dressing and grain layout of the boards was clearly done with aesthetic forethought by someone with experience. It was sanded perfectly and ready for finish. I can definitely recommend Hardwood Lumber Company without reservation.

I was nervous about ordering online but am happy with how everything worked out. Every piece was flat no cracks. The tread coat was expensive but hopefully it is better than what I would have finished it with. Would recommend.

Live Sawn White Oak Wide Plank (Face Grain) Countertop
Your wide plank live sawn white oak is exactly as depicted online and as ordered (prefinished). The oak top is mounted over a custom designed and fabricated steel frame with legs of tapered steel angles. The look is elegantly simple, rugged and contemporary. I have photos.

Sadly disappointed

Knotty Alder Edge Grain Butcher Block Countertop
The color did not turn out even close to how it appeared online when we used the tool that lets you combine the type of wood with the type of finish and color of stain. Was disappointed in that because while it was a beautiful piece, it was significantly different than the color of our floors. Just adjusting to that and now we have a weird area mid-top that's separating and peeling up. We've only had it for a few months and our remodel project isn't even finished so we have used the kitchen and the counter top very little. Not sure what we will do with that area and no expectation that it's going to hold up for any length of time. Very disappointed because reviews were good. We will reach out to the company and see what/if they can at least do something about the area that's coming apart already. And eventually I'll have someone refinish it a better color if it lasts long enough to get that done.

Walnut Edge Grain Butcher Block Countertop
The countertop looks amazing. I got it with a clear coat of polyurethane over it. I was hoping that it would help protect the wood more, but the wood seems to scratch easily. Otherwise, the product is beautiful.
