The packaging was excellent - arrived still frozen. This was a big deal to me because I have ordered from other companies and the item wasn't even cold to the touch. The meat was great. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

Best ground beef ever

Meat came well packaged in a cooler box, still frozen. Vac-sealed packages were labeled with type of cut and weight. My box also had some helpful tips on cooking grass-fed beef. Excellent company to deal with.

Not only was this marrow a great deal higher quality and better-tasting than your standard stuff, I had a mixup with shipping and Dan himself answered on the first ring and got it straightened out. Great operation, I'll be back!

We grilled burgers last night and they were so good!

I thought that two ribs to an order was going to be kind of paltry but my goodness, these were so large and seriously meaty with just the right amount of fat. They were tender and flavorful and moist. The difference from these and the grass fed supermarket beef is eye opening. These are worth the money.

Package arrived as expected. It was well packed and the food seems fine. Butt when they ship to warmer climates they should put in more dry ice. Had I not been home when the package arrived, it could have thawed since the package was left right out in the sun.

Early last week we received our first Heartstone Farm box. I have a beef stew recipe that friends and family love and couldn't wait to try it with the 2 lbs of stew beef that were in the box. One thing I noticed was how much quicker the beef browned compared to store bought beef. As for the finished batch, everyone said this was my best batch ever. I am convinced Hearstone farm beef is worth every penny of the premium over industrially raised beef.

Our farm package came this past week! We will be having the burger tomorrow! I’m reviewing the shipment and packaging right now! Steaks just arrived. UPS delays made me concerned about freshness. But ice blankets were still cold and meat was at about 37 degrees, despite being several days late. Looking forward to a steak for dinner tonight. tho they seem a little small.

We were given a steak from our kids, who had ordered from Heartstone. It was an AMAZING steak! We ordered immediately, but due to Covid they were wiped out of product. We got a lot of heads up as our order was about to be shipped. When it arrived it was very well packaged, everything was still solid frozen. The meat is wonderful with loads of flavor. So far I have tried the ground beef and the shaved steak, both delicious. The shaved steak was so tender with no grizzly pieces that you often find in other shaved meats. I could not stomach another frozen beef patty until I tried Heartstone Farm's and I could eat their hamburg everyday. Even better is there personalized and down to earth customer service, they get right back to you and help immediately with any questions you have. In addition, the way they package the food for deliver is incredible and they email you to let you know when your meat has left their farm and you can track it along the way. We received our Maine box last week and have tried the ground beef patties, the ground beef, a rib eye and a package of the short ribs. The ground beef is the best we have ever had, the rib eye had great flavor and texture and was rich enough for the two of us to share. We have been hooked on bone in short ribs for 20 years now and these were by far the best we can remember! Most short ribs we get end up having great texture but are lacking in their own inherent flavor. The best way I can put it is they taste like beef!

We had our wings yesterday and they were the absolute best we've ever had! I found a Keto recipe that starts with refrigerating them 2 - 4 hours to dry the skin, and boy, did it work.They were fantastic, with an avocado dipping sauce. This just may be our new favorite company meal. This was the first time that I bought grass fed beef heart and it had less fat and more meat than hearts from conventionally raised cattle. And as expected it tasted better!

As a product, this can be slightly difficult to get around. It needs long cooking to be tender, and should be sliced thin. If it is pre-cooked then crisped up, it is a truly marvelous meat. Try it cooked sous-vide for about 36 hours, skinned, sliced, and then flash seared over a very hot grille for a couple minutes (really, watch it) or on a smoking skillet for a couple of minutes a side. Serve with a spicy sauce. Lends well to sandwiches or Asian dishes featuring rice or noodles.

We recently received our first order of beef and chicken and couldn't be more pleased. The beef is high quality, beautifully red and marbled with a phenomenal taste. Haven't tried the chicken yet, but it looks good, no tendons or grizzled pieces.

My husband and I really enjoyed our healthy at home box. It was a good size for us. We wanted something more local and that would deliver so this was perfect. We really liked the flavor of the meat too it was really tender and juicy. I would highly recommend.

Steak Tips - the tips are lean but tasty. we grill them and you have to be careful not to overcook. Written suggestions on cooking and seasoning are included with the order. I also suggest marinating. We use maple bourbon and it clearly brings out the flavor of the meat. My only suggestions is that i wish the cuts were bigger. we serve them as a main course and i wish they were a little heartier.

Yummy! I have to say I was very impressed with this chicken. We marinated it and slow cooked it on the grill. Wonderful dinner and the leftovers made a nice chicken salad.

Product arrived with some delay (fault of UPS), however Heartstone kept me updated, which is very much appreciated and shows their commitment to meeting customer expectations. The product was well packaged in an insulated box with a surprisingly amount of cooling media. I have shipped seafood across the world and was definitely impressed with their standards. I haven't had a chance to try all the product shipped, but the porterhouse was excellent (couldn't wait for the 4th of July :) )...

I admit, chicken is not my favorite meat. I eat it because it's versatile and high in protein. Cue Heartstone Farm's Organic Chicken Breast. OK, with all due respect to Farmer Dan the Beef and Chicken man, the ground beef is about as good as you'll find anywhere. Just buy it and use it anywhere else you'd use ground beef and you'll be fair satisfied. My current project has been on the Heartstone beef heart smoked meat. I just did a piece of this 24 hrs in the sous-vide, followed by an overnight in a vacuum bag with a very good Montreal rub, followed by two hours over hickory and cherry chips in the smoker. It is phenomenal. For one, it is a very concentrated food, so small portion will do ya. Yes, I know the whole deal may seem overly fussy and take a lot of gear, but it is simply that good, and really doesn't take much effort. Much of the prep is simply wait time where you can do almost anything else. The last person I dated insisted on buying Halal meats. Halal, particularly out of a certain market on Montreal insures super quality, but good gracious the price. I'm no expert, but Farmer Dan's meats appear to have as high a standard. Now if Farmer Dan would only trade in lamb. . .

I purchased 2 of the 32oz T-Bones for a special occasion. These steaks are the best money can buy. The delivery was flawless and professional. A truly great experience from start to finish.

I met Farmer Dan from Heartstone Farm in my driveway; he was delivering a quarter side of beef. The first thing I said after our introduction was, “I’m originally from Montana, and I haven’t had a good steak since I came to Maine.” I was only half kidding. In truth, I had not really sought out good beef, mostly opting instead for convenience and the local big boxes with, what I imagine, is feedlot fair shipped from Kansas. He looked at me, smiled and said, “Ah, that’s too much pressure.” But I could tell, he was entirely kidding; he was a man who had complete confidence in what he was delivering. Now, I do not claim to be an expert on beef, but, as a kid, my backyard was a large pasture full of angus. I watched Leo Stepper, the local butcher, pull into that pasture with his old, white Chevy pickup many times. A few weeks later, it was always steak for supper. My mom could work miracles with a chuck steak. I grilled a sirloin the night after Dan made our delivery. The next day, we ordered another side of Heartstone’s grass-fed beef. My wife, who, incidentally, was born and raised in Texas, said, “I never want to buy beef from anywhere else again.” It really doesn’t get any more convenient than having a friendly, local farmer deliver high-quality beef to you in your driveway. We have only started to make our way through our chicken and beef monthly box but so far, we are very happy. Our first meal was chicken breasts, cooked on the stovetop with a light breaded crust. Juicy and tasty! The second meal, grilled outside with family and friends, were the pre-made burgers. Almost no “shrinkage” and very delicious. I am anxious to wade through the rest of the contents! Those steaks are calling my name!
