Ive been ordering from Heartstone for a few months now. The meat is always really good. I always order the chicken thighs. Its really and under appreciated part of the chicken. It tastes fresh, expertly trimmed and juicy! Ive cooked them in the oven, on the grill or on a Blacktone. Can't wait for my next delivery!

Yummy Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie!

Heartstone Farm's traditional strawberry-rhubarb pie was excellent. Nice pieces of rhubarb and the strawberry taste came through. It was delicious, and disappeared quickly!

Perfect

I pan fried the ham in my hot cast iron skillet. It was done to perfection in 15 minutes both sides. The steak was easy to cut and moist. Taste was amazing and no salt needed. I would definitely order again. Sorry, no pic. Eaten to fast!

First Time Customer

We were so pleased with the shipment we received in the heat of the summer! Shipment was wisely postponed a couple of days due to extreme high temperatures. It was promptly delivered only a few days later perfectly packaged with dry ice still remaining! We were well informed of this necessary delay and were grateful that we were kept notified of the change. Everything we ordered has arrived but we only had a chance to try the butter and it is delicious. No more store bought butter for us! Thank you Heartstone. Divine Steaks

The ribeyes and filets are fantastic, I like to dry age them in the fridge for a few days prior to grilling and they always turn out amazing! This meal we grilled up a bunch of veggies including garlic scapes, and paired with a nice Shiraz. This box was my 19th from Heartstone, 18 months into the subscription and will keep going! I do feel that the product is thawing out more than even a few months ago when shipping but has been within food safety temp upon arrival. I believe the distribution center changed recently.

You may find this odd, but I prepared the liver for my Dogs meal. I only feed her meat from your farm knowing she’s only getting the highest quality meats. Needless to say she gobbled it right up. Your ancestral ground beef is another staple in her diet.

I just switched from another box to Heartstone. The cuts seem larger so far. So far I’ve tried the strip steak, the pork chop and the ground beef. All were excellent.

Our very first order was delayed by the shipping company (not Heartstone’s fault). The meat arrived completely thawed and barely cool. Heartstone immediately replaced the order. It arrived today frozen solid with plenty of dry ice still frozen. We can’t wait to dig in to all the fabulous meat! Greatest customer service ever!

The variety of meat that I purchased is delicious. The chicken breast, steak, and cubed steak were far superior to grocery store meats. I have a close friend from Maine that I gave the pie to that said the pie was supurb and made them longing for home. My only challenge is with the customer service call line. There was quite a delay in receiving my order, so I called the customer service line but no one answered. I received an email about not wanting to ship the meat in the heat heat wave. Made complete sense and I am sure service line will improve.

Nowadays most of the meat at grocery stores are from one of 4 large corporations, including a Brazilian corporation. I don’t trust how they treat the animals or their farming and labor practices in general. I like ordering from Heartstone and knowing where my meat comes from, supporting small farm businesses, and having clean healthy/safe meat. Their customer service is also great as they’ve always been very responsive to me.

Tastes So Fresh! Yumm

I was so excited to be able to buy my meat from the source and it’s extra special that it’s from my own State of Maine! We have switched to all Organic groceries and am happy to buy our meats with no drugs etc I noticed the difference in the chicken- wow so fresh tasting and large portions of everything. I loved the ribeyes and the bacon too! Very fresh and delicious. So then they added a free Pie and they are made in Oxford Maine. Do happy to support these fantastic local farmers and people working hard to make a living. Keep the farms we need to support them I’ve ordered again and plan on trying the Turkey meatloaf. 10 stars!!!

I love the variety of meats to choose from. One of my selections this month was the fajitas. This is not seasoned so you have the flexibility of creating how you desire. This made a great summertime salad!

I recently purchased beef and chicken products and enjoyed everything I received. The strawberry rhubarb pie that was given to me with my order was very delicious.

Filet Mignon or Ground Beef?

My recent order includes both Premium Ground Beef and Filet Mignon, among other treats. I’m happy to say we decided upon the Filet first. Wow!! Now that is a Filet that cannot be duplicated in any restaurant and Super Markets don’t even carry them where I live. Also, if they did it would be the usual feedlot leather they call beef, at high prices. Filet was Tender and delicious and as they say, “Cuts like butter”. As for the ground beef, we’ll get to that next but had to do the Filet first. Hmm, hmmm, life is good when feeding off the local Farm!

Peace of mind

With all the chatter about food safety, I have found peace of mind ordering from Hearthstone Farm. The quality of the items I have ordered has been top quality. I also have a little dog who has been diagnosed with a digestive disorder. His diet is extremely restricted. I am fixing him the turkey breasts and he loves them. I do not have to worry about additives that can harm him. This gives me peace of mind.

I have been buying beef from Farmer Dan for a couple of years and have been very pleased with my purchases. Last month I decided to start getting the Meat Box subscription and I am delighted I did. I am looking forward to getting the next one. The chicken has been delicious and the beef has always been tender and juicy. I don’t trust the chicken and beef from the grocery stores, but I definitely trust the quality of Farmer Dan’s choices.

Premium Ground Beef

I used 2 pounds of the ground beef to make a meat loaf. I did not use any filler. Just meat, veggies and seasoning. It was amazing! Very minimal extra grease but still moist.

This was the first time we ordered from Farmer Dan and we were very pleased with how fast the delivery came and how the meat tasted. We did not get the pie that we were supposed to to get but maybe you ran out. We will be ordering again.

Very Tasty

I've sampled several cuts of beef from Heartstone Farms and have enjoyed everything. I buy a lot of ground beef these days, and Farmer Dans Ground Beef is excellent. The bacon is also very good...with no nitrates.

Sirloin steak

We make a rub with garlic and onion powder along with salt and pepper and rub steak with it and let it sit for about an hour. Then we grill the steak to medium well the steak is very tender and delicious!

Great product and quick service

I received my first box in the middle of a heat wave. Everything was fine. So far, I have used only the chix tenders and thighs. The tenders were well trimmed and the thighs were exactly as expected. You cannot go wrong with their easy policies. Try "Farmer Dan!"

Blueberry Heaven

Love the blueberry pie! It was a little broken on the top upon arrival but it baked up perfectly and tasted amazing! Many blueberries don't have much flavor but these little beauties were full of it. Will definitely order again.

Food you can feel good about

I'm all about healthy eating. I've been trying many subscription services to find " the one" . Hearthstone is a real stand out! My husband cooked the Ribeyes on the grill and they were high end resturant quality with the health benefit of being grass fed! The chicken breast were what chicken is supposed to taste like! Tender, moist and tasty! Not like some of the store bought dry, rubbery chicken. The pork chops were so good! Very flavorful and great cuts of meat. The only thing in the box we were not sold on was the hamburger. Being grass fed I realize it will have a different kind of taste but it's just not to my liking. It has more of an " earthy" , gamey taste. My dog loved it though!

And when I opened the package of chicken thighs it was so nice and clean didn't have that smell you get from the supermarket chickens. You can't quite tell if it's fresh or not. Needs a marinade

I used the marinade from your recipe, which is very good. I only had the meat in it 2-3 hours, and it was very tough. The sirloin has a lot of flavor, so I'll try it again with an overnight marinade.

This is our first times trying farm raised meat and to say the meat was fresh, tasty I’d an understatement!! You clearly can taste the difference from store bought with the added stuff they put in meats. But my husband and I were extremely pleased!!! Will be ordering again!!! I made a beautiful meatloaf with the ground beef and pork but it didn’t allow me to upload.

FRESH & CONVENIENT!

Heartstone's meat is a wonderful value! I usually buy one of the subscription boxes which turn out to be an even better value. All of my purchases so far have been fresh and taste clean. No more store bought meats for my family. The meats arrived on time and were still frozen (last box was ordered in June just to give you an idea of what the outside temperatures were averaging around 80 to 88 degrees) and the meat didn't defrost as it was heavily insulated in dry ice and other packing materials. The actual individual packages of meat are wrapped well and also are insulated from any possible contaminants. Thank you to Farmer Dan and his staff for doing a great job!

Heartstone ground beef

The ground beef we recently received from Heartstone Farms was excellent. We cooked it on the grill, and we could smell right away that it was going to taste great. The flavor was very beefy in a positive way, making for a great burger. We will definitely purchase this again when we finish the rest of the 5 pounds.
