It was terrific!! We marinated it for 4 hours and then grilled it for about 1 1/4 hours; initially on indirect heat and last 15 minutes direct. It was enjoyed by all. I’m glad we had 5 chickens ordered.

Our ribeyes arrived frozen solid, and packed well with the rest of our order, quickly after we ordered. They were beautifully marbled, and have amazing grass fed beef flavor. The best part - they come from a farm that cares about their cows. It feels great to be supporting local, and feels even better when the product is amazing!

The sausage and everything we've eaten here so far is amazing! Highly y!

In my impression "sausage" has only one taste "too salty" over everything, so I don't buy it, but recently at Heartstone Farm I tried HOT ITALIAN CHICKEN SAUSAGE LINKS, I finally tasted meaty sausage, really delicious ! I will continue to buy again.

Best breakfast sausages I’ve ever had.

2 stars because I DID receive a package and MOST were frozen (and I am in Maine, just over 2 hours from me). Chicken breasts are not close to the same size. One package thawed when shipped as the $17 for 2 breasts was small and the breasts were thin. Same with one of my beef filets. Customer service, aka Bill, stated I was not a good match for them as I expected far too much from the service. Well, I expect to get meat that is frozen and that did not happen. No offer to rectify, no apology, just said, you got what we described you would get for sizes and prices. Well, if we do not work as a butcher cutting meat, we would not know the size of the 2 breasts in the .54 lb package would not be enough protein for a meal for 2. This review is written as no one there wants to help a customer, who, by the way, has been purchasing small farm raised meats for the last 7-10 years. Never had 2 breasts that tiny in any purchase I have made from farm raised, no grain ever, chickens. Oh, and I was expected to take the 5 star rating from thousands of customers to excuse Bill's behavior. No, not happening. Good luck in your sales and I have yet to be removed from your mailing list, as requested at least 5 times. Betting this does not make the cut on the reviews, just as I told Bill, you only post the excellent ones.

Bacon very tasty good eating

Heartstone has the best chicken ever. The breasts are moist tender and the most amazing flavor. So many recipes, my favorite is grilled orange checks. Made with an amazing mr Stubbs orange marinade. No breading. But may try that in the future with a new pecan nut coating.

Bought 3 briskets from Farmer Dan and Heartstone Farms for a birthday BBQ. The brisket did not disappoint. The quality of meat far exceeded what I am able to get at my local butcher and set the bar to a new level. This is the best brisket I have purchased to date. I’ll be going back to Heartstone again for my future purchases. Also, their packaging, while bulky to keep the meat frozen is able to be completely recycled. There is no styrofoam used and the insulation and box can go into the recycling bin. Ice packs are in my freezer and used to feed coolers.

I recently ordered and received a stick lovers box. It came well packed and the cuts of meat looked very very nice. To this point we've only had two of the steaks, the strip steaks, they were fantastic very lean and very tender. I've already ordered some chicken and short ribs to have in my freezer. Highly recommended

I purchased the Farmer's Grill Box a couple weeks ago, and have tried several of the selections so far. The burgers, franks, ground beef, and steaks are delicious. The marinated steak tips were good tasting, though a bit tough. However, all brands of steak tips seem tough to me on occasion, so maybe this is normal. I will buy them again, regardless, to see how the next batch is. Everything else I would buy again, just because it's all been delicious, and also because I believe in buying locally raised meat from animals that were treated humanely.

Fabulous tender cut of mouth watering grass-fed beef! The skirt steak was a beautiful thin two-foot cut of nicely trimmed meat. A few minutes on the grill and then paired with a good Malbec made the evening priceless. Thanks again, Farmer Dan!

I don’t often eat beaf but when I do, it’s Farmer Dan’s grass-fed beef. Seriously, it’s the best, especially the filet mignon. Also really like the strip steaks. And the stew meat. Okay, it’s all great!

This bacon is very good. I love the freshness, and that it is easy to cook. I'm not very good at cooking bacon, but this bacon did not burn easily as some bacon has a tendency to do. I'm looking forward to my next bacon order, so I can make a BLT. This bacon didn't last long enough for that.

Delicious, juicy, and more chicken-y flavor than the store bought thighs. We have grilled, baked, and smoked- each time they come out perfect! I don’t typically enjoy dark meat, but now prefer it to white after having these!

Above and beyond my expectations. I have ordered many different items from here and have not been disappointed yet. These steaks were no exception to that. I always cook them in the pressure cooker with pepper and garlic salt for seasoning. Melt in your mouth good!

We found the Zesty Italian Pork Sausage to be delicious and meaty. The seasoning profile is mild and will compliment a plethora of recipe options. Without dating myself too badly , let me state it is comparable to sausage available before the days of big box stores and large grocery store chains. Then , the local butcher’s reputation and livelihood demanded offering products of this quality. We are cognizant of the Maine work ethic and dedication to delivering high quality value. We have spent over 40 years living local in Maine for a portion of each year without fail. THANK YOU Farmer Dan for providing the quality of products we have grown accustomed to !!

The chicken breasts are delicious!

All were different thicknesses and sizes, although when packed in the sealed bags, they appeared to be thicker than they were. The flavor, same as when I purchased from other small farms, so nothing spectacular. (yes grass fed only small farms). One package was thawed so we had to cook it separately from the others, which were for a birthday dinner for my son. Dan, not Bill, in customer service advised "We do our best, but it sounds like your needs and expectations are not a good match for what small family farms can provide you." And Dan or Bill also stated "Our 4,700 5-star reviews speak to trust. We deliver. You're looking for something that doesn;t exist." with typo, after I mentioned that he never addressed the thawing issue of the filet and the pack of chicken which was undersized. There are other farms out there - find them and support them as our money is supporting someone who really could not care about a consumer who pays good money to get a product, especially now, after COVID has caused many to raise prices. I still wanted to spend it locally vs in the market elsewhere, so stop implying that I am not a customer who is a good fit for your business. Stop emailing these reviews and all emails so that you do not tarnish your 5-star rating.

Decided to give this a try....so glad I did. Yummy! Fantastic flavor, not too salty like supermarket bought can be, and just the right amount of fat. The "zestiness" could be amped up a bit, at least in my opinion. Knowing that is it pure pasture raised without all the crap alleviates some of the guilt over eating sausage! Will definitely add this to my next order.

Ordering was simple and my ground beef arrived well packaged and on time. I have been eating only grass fed beef for several years and I want to say that Farmer Dan's ground beef from Heartstone Farm is perhaps the best I have had. It is flavorful and juicy and the 1lb packages defrost quickly. I am a fan and will be trying other cuts in my next order.

These sausages were very good. So far this was the best choice of meats from my box. They had a great sausage taste, yet sweetness as well. I just made sausage sandwiches with green peppers & onions. Next time I'm making some sort of pasta dish.

All the meats are delicious, and very fresh. The T-bone steaks were tender and juicy. The pork chops were the best I've had in years. I'm talking 20-30 years. I enjoyed all the meats so much that I've ordered a 1/4 share, and I'm looking forward to my order. Excellent!

we have been ordering our meat from another at home delivery service for years. A friend of ours told us about your company and decided to give it a try, as we are from Maine as well. the bone in chicken thighs were very good, very juicy and the right amount in the package for a family of two. We cooked them on the Blackstone and could not believe how juicy they came out. Very happy to be supporting a local farm.

This is my first time ordering from Heartstone Farm. My order was promptly delivered with the contents well packed and frozen. I added 12 of the 1/3-lb burger patties to my order, and I’m glad I did! Really loved this sausage! Great flavor and not much spice. Very nice meaty texture so you can tell it's not processed like most conventional brands. Really enjoyed this and would definitely buy again.

This is the first time we have tried this cut of meat. The pictures I had Googled of hanger steaks showed a rectangular photo but ours was more of a square shape. Not a problem. I didn’t season it at all as I wanted to get a true taste. We cooked it medium rare and sliced it, against the grain. The pieces were super tender and very flavorful until we got to the center portion:there was a big line of gristle we had to contend with. That made it very disappointing. BUT, we would definitely try another piece, for sure. What we were able to enjoy was tender and flavorful, just like a filet mignon.

Absolutely the best chicken tenders we ever had Grandson loves chicken tenders he was eating them as fast as I could make them I breaded them and fried them and they remained soft and juicy the only problem was I didn’t order enough will be placing another order soon.
