I gave one box to my husband for his birthday and one box for my son-in-law for his birthday. Both men love hamburgers and raved about the meat. We are giving consumable presents now for all birthdays and holidays. Farmer Dan's meat is the perfect gift for meat lovers and is always appreciated.

Good Afternoon Dan; I just finished the last of the leftovers, the turkey was amassing moist and just the right size. I will be sure to order another next Thanksgiving!!

The turkey arrived nicely packaged with very clear directions/suggestions on preparation and cooking. The turkey itself looked kind of emaciated. I varied the bird prep, but followed the cooking directions closely. Result-the breast meat was very dry. The dark meat was a bit more moist. There was no usable pan drippings (what was left had partially caramelized and was very bitter) and there was no drippings in the cavity of the turkey to make a gravy. Prep-I filled the cavity loosely with the zest of 1 lemon and the same lemon cut in 6 wedges, one coarsely diced small red onion, salt and pepper. I rubbed down the outside of the bird with olive oil then sprinkled with salt and pepper. I placed the bird in a roasting pan on a rack leaving an inch clearance to the pan. I filled the pan with about 3 cups of homemade fresh apple cider. Cooking-I followed the cooking directions very specifically, cooking the 10.3 pound bird at 350 for just under 3 hours to a temp of 160 - then at 425 for 20 minutes to a temp of 180 -then let the turkey rest for 25 minutes. My last 3 turkeys have been fresh/never frozen locally raised organic Maine turkeys ranging from 12 lbs to 23 lbs. Each was plump, delicious and moist.

We received our Tide Mill Farm turkey as expected, frozen and on time. This is the first Thanksgiving this 72 year old has not eaten a “ grocery store” turkey. It was simply amazing, most flavorful and moist turkey ever., it was a big hit on our Thanksgiving table.

Albeit a delivery error, Heartstone doesn’t stand behind any assurance that your delivery will be on time. This is a major issue when dealing with perishable items. Ups tried to deliver 2 days after the expected delivery. It had been a sitting in a hot truck and warehouse for 2 days. When I called Heartstone I was told “it should be fine”. I declined delivery and will not be doing business with a company who thinks meat sitting in non refrigerated warehouse is “fine” for consumption!

We have ordered the Maine box several times now, and we are very happy with both the quality of the meat and the service. We don’t have the space for a share, so this is a great option for my family. All the cuts are great, and the meat is delicious, so different from any beef you will buy at the grocery store.

These breakfast sausages are absolutely delicious. They are tender and so flavorful. The casing comes off easily if you prefer to eat them without it but it’s good either way. Thank you for selling a delicious pork product that I trust the source of!

Always buy from Heartstone Farms. The beef is grass fed and grass finished to ensure proper nutritional values are at its highest. I've bought chuck roasts, ground beef and shaved steak (personal favorite). All have been outstanding.

I ordered these chicken legs twice and haven been disappointed. I have a friend who grew up on a farm. She's always talking about how tasteless the store bought chicken is. Amazing service and product!

Can't say I'm pleased, this time... Most of Dan's meats are excellent. Not so, these Tide Mills(?) turkeys. Birds were supposed to be 11-13 pounds. Mine was only 10.16 lbs. More like a big chicken, really. After reading the reviews for the included cooking instructions, I decided to try them. I prepped the bird yesterday, n cooked it at the suggested temps, for 170mins.(Instructions were 165-180mins., for an 8-12 pound bird). The result? One massively overcooked, big chicken. My meat thermometer shot right up to >180°, in the thigh centers. The breasts n legs had a very hard armor coating of petrified meat covering them. The rest of the breasts were dry, dry, dry. Only the thighs n wings were kinda moist. I cook most foods well, n have never dried a turkey, before. Thank God I wasn't cooking this for the whole family. Woulda been a disaster. Was so small, I just made a regular meal for me n my girlfriend. Sorry Dan, but this bird was a $99 disappointment.

We recently purchased the steak tips and actually had them today. Even though we did marinate them the taste of the beef came through strong and I have to say they were the best tips I have ever had. The best turkey I and my family’ve ever eaten in New England.

This may be non traditional I know. I grilled my beef hotdogs on the stove grill for Thanksgiving. They were a perfect addition to the other staples. The flavor is not over powering like other beef hotdogs. They have the right amount of spices which makes them delicious and fresh tasting. I brushed them with a little olive oil which gave them the perfect grill marks. They certainly are quality beef hotdogs which you can taste. must admit, it was the first Thanksgiving with organic turkey. It was very tasty and different from consuming commercial turkey experience by the whole family review: 1. by appearance. It looked like a big bird compare to monster dinasore from a grocery store 2. by overall appearance. It looked very lean and indeed produced very little if any greese 3. by texture. The meat was absolutely juicy, even white meat, after beaing in the oven for a number of hours 4. by taste. The most difference was in taste. I guess, cause it was not infused with butter or water as it is in grocert store turkey, you could taste meat much more than sodium I literally promissed myself establishing tradition for buying organic turkey from now on 5. just knowing that there was no corn involed in growing that turkey, made me feel so good and protected Highly recommend.

This was our first year hosting Thanksgiving and were very nervous about the centerpiece of our meal-our turkey. We have bought meat from Farmer Dan for the last year and decided to give the turkey a try-it did NOT disappoint. We followed the recommendations included (never thought of a sliced orange in the cavity) and proceeded to cook the best turkey my wife and I have ever had. Between the quality of the bird and the great instructions our Thanksgiving went off even better than we had hoped. Will be booking our Turkey as soon as they're available again next year.

Excited to cook our organic turkey for Thanksgiving!!

The organic chicken breasts available through Heartstone Farm are so much better than chicken from the supermarkets! They have a great flavor which comes through in all recipes. Friends ask where I bought the chicken due to the obvious quality and taste.

I decided to try the Flat Iron Steak and so glad I did! Despite being a lean cut it was quite tender and very flavorful. I marinated in Tamari and Worcestershire sauce. Pan fried in a cast Iron skillet to Medium Rare. Finished with drizzled butter. Cut into slices across the grain. Served with sautéed onion, mushroom, and garlic. I highly recommend you give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

AS with all things Farmer Dan, these dogs are of the highest quality. I tend to really love the meats such as hamburger, lamb steaks and such and give them a 5 star. The hotdogs ARE 5 star for anyone who regularly eats dogs; we don't. Since the bbq is put in storage for the winter I could not bbq grill them. Still the new beef dogs were grand in one of my favorite easy to make Maine dishes; B&M baked beans augmented with extra onions and now Farmer Dan's All-Beef Hot Dogs.

Can't go wrong with Heartstone Farm. We usually don't eat too many hot dogs in our house but wanted to give these a fair shake. Their beef hot dogs are excellent -- great for kids and adults alike. We will be putting more in our next order.

These pork chops are full of flavor, the texture is far better than anything I’ve gotten in grocery stores, and they cook up beautifully. I’ve prepared these with a bit of sea salt and pepper with minced garlic and diced onions in a fairly hot cast iron skillet, stovetop. Cook to medium-rare/almost medium for a delicious meal. I’ll be ordering more of these and experiment with some sheet pan recipes to get a comparison to the iron skillet results.
