The Southampton half marathon on 23 April 2017 was a lovely run. In bright sunshine we ran through parkland and along the river, not to mention the haul both ways over the Itchen bridge. The organisation was excellent, the route-side support fantastic and running in the company of all the others was a pleasure. To top it all we got to run pitch-side through the Saint's stadium. I would definitely do it again

There should have been more waterstations, one definitely on the bridge. Otherwise everything else was very good!

Generally very well organised and great course, nice balance of flat and challenge. My only slight criticism was that the last mile or so was quite chaotic as I seemed to co-incide with the slower 10k runners and found myself having to weave all over the place at a point in the race where I was most tired. I expect having to jostle for position a bit at the start but doing so at the end was a new and unwelcome experience. It didn't tarnish my overall enjoyment and memory, just something to think about for next year......

What a fantastic event! Well organised, and stunning route around the city. For my first ever half marathon I will forever have very fond memories. The alcohol free **** at the end was a great touch! I can't wait to run again next year.

Enjoyed the course. Requires more water stations and gem stations. Goody bag very poor????. Also the 10 km runners running into the marathon runners confusing. Lots of weaving around. Marshals very friendly plus a pb on a hard course.

The day as a whole was excellent. Very well organised and ran very smoothly. One thing that was a negative was the amount of water stations on the run itself. There was by far not enough, there was 3 I believe.

I've done this event every year, and the atmosphere is great. The route was much better this way round, but all races converging on the bridge needs some thought. I lost a lot of time weaving through traffic on the bridge and was on for a PB :-(

Lovely course, interesting but flat enough for fast times. Tremendous crowd support the whole way round. Numerous drinks stations, lovely t-shirt, nice medal. No real critisms, if I'm nit picking I'd say it was a bit expensive at £33 and not so good that you couldn't defer your place until well before the event.

I thought the race was excellently organised and the atmosphere on the day was wonderful. I would recommend this run to other runners. The on,y slight criticism I might have is that there could have been water at the 5k point for the 10k runners, it was quite a struggle to get to 8k without water.

I really enjoyed the run and the day, all of the marshals were great around the route and I appreciated the medal, t-shirt and **** at the end!
The reason I have given four stars is I feel like there was little direction on the day as to where people actually needed to be for the start of each race.
Also I was sent the wrong race pack in the post, this wasn’t a major issue, I was emailed about this and changed my pack on the morning of the race. However after finishing the race I saw another runner wearing my number and name, which I assume he was sent incorrectly in the post. I was then very concerned that my time wouldn’t be recorded properly or I would be duplicated. Also when trying to view the photos and searching via race number most of them are of the man wearing my race number. It just put a bit of an anti ****** on the day.

Well organised, great marshalls and water stations. No queues for the toilets! Amazing! Only bug bear is the slower people who got into the wrong pens. I was in the sub 1.35 pen for the half and hardly moved for the first half mile due to people entering the pens at the start rather than entering at the back.

On the 10k, only distance marker I spotted was 4k. I am sure there were others, just I missed them as they were small or hidden or something, (or I was running looking at my feet, which is more likely)
Drinks were a bit late at 7/8k on a warm day. Having something before the bridge would have been nice rather than after?
