The start of the 1/2 was rather abrupt, but that's a minor point.
The route was well signed, managed and marshalled. The actual route was good and gives good options for supporting.
The timings between races leads to congestion so could do with better thought.
But a well managed and organised event.

Excellent race, thoroughly enjoyed. Only criticism was number of slower runners who started ahead of their pace group - made first few km rather crowded

Really enjoyed both the half marathon and the mile fun run with my family. Only issue was congestion towards the end of the half marathon with the 10k runners. And before the start of the mile fun run we had to try and get past the runners who had already lined up to get near the back for the smaller children to start.

One of the best supported half marathons that I have run - the crowds and the marshals were just amazing! Thanks to all!
I thoroughly enjoyed running through the football stadium, the bit I did not enjoy was running the Itchen Bridge close to the end of the run (at which point, it turned into a walk!) - I think I would have preferred to tackle that earlier in the run!!
Great medal and t-shirt, and a fantastic refreshing **** at the finish too! Big thumbs up from me.

Enjoyed the race but felt it wasn't well organised. Wrong bibs given out and when I finished I went through the 10k finish collected the 10k medal but was given the wrong top, a marathon top! I emailed to see if I could get the right top but no one has replied yet!

A great event, well ran. My only complaint is that their were not portaloos around the course and not enough water stations. Also it would be good to have energy drinks, red bull, flat coke, gels and bars at all stations.

I really enjoyed the run this year, but was completely shattered at the end by a combination of the heat and the bridge being at the end.
I thought the start could have been organised a little better. Running the half I wasn't entirely sure where the start was - 'the warmup is going to start soon by KFC' was announced over the tannoy at the Guildhall square, but I didn't know where that was. Last year the pacers were introduced and we were invited to follow them to the start, but I didn't see any of that this year, just them walking off at some point earlier.
I haven't decided which way round I preferred yet - I certainly did better running the bridge first, and down through the common, but this way round just showed how much my legs need work :)
The goodies were OK, I needed the peanut bar, the water and the banana, and I drank most of the ****, but frankly I could have drank anything at that point as long as it was potable.
I'll be back next year, and am thinking of Volunteering to Marshal in Winchester in September as I enjoyed running that last year.
This years shirts were awesome by the way, I loved the colourfulness of them, and the flags on the arms were great, along with the writing on the back which personalised it for each event. I'm glad someone at the finish knew which one to give me, as I had no idea what I was being given at the time!

Extremely impressed with all the marshalls and support around the course! Organisation was good, queues werent too bad for baggage etc compared to most other runs I've done!

Very well organised, far far better than any other race I have ran in across the UK and Europe. Perfect route around some great sites, my only issue was when racers passed each other on routes which encourages cheating and demoralises those that do not.

Best day ever- so well organised. Brilliant crowd and wonderfully organised from entry on line right through to the finish line. Will be back next year, perhaps doing a further distance! ????

good race, however the 10k start seemed a little hectic and unorganised

Most of the race was excellently run and marshalled, however, at 10 miles in the half marathon race, thousands of slower 10k runners poured onto the road. These were the 55 minute to 65 minute 10k runners, which is obviously great for them to get out and complete the challenge of a 10k, but they were travelling at around 9 minutes per mile, where I was holding a little over 6 minutes per mile. This was a massive organisational oversight, which meant I (and the others in the same race as me, the half) were faced with a constant wall of moving obstacles for the entire last 5km.
Not smart at all, a blatant money grab by the race director / organisation.

Overall I enjoyed the race itself, great route which has so many areas for spectators to support, it lifts you during the hardest moments.
Felt a little let down by my race pack not arriving in the post until the Monday after the race. This meant I had to queue for over an hour to collect my number. This was not great race prep, please have more desks available next year! I had 15mins to warm up and get to the start line. I even arrived 90mins before my race as you suggested.
I'm also not sure if it was as a result of my race number not arriving in time, but I didn't get sent my result by text or email which I would usually expect from a race of this size, I found this out from the results page, but a text or email would have been nice.
Great atmosphere and route, just maybe a little more thought to the experience of the runner, not just processing large numbers.

It was really good and I got to race my family in the fun run. My little brother beat me by 4 seconds though!!
The course for the half marathon is good as it comes nearly past our house so I got to see Mummy running a couple of times before meeting her at the finish line.

I completed my first ever half marathon this year in my home town. I have to say I was extremely nervous as I'd never run that distance before, although the training had gone into it.
I met a couple of pacers as we took our places who were so lovely, and I hadn't expected to have pacers there! They were invaluable, and even though I didn't stick with them throughout the course it was great having them to chat to whilst waiting for the race to start, with wise words of advice to take round with me.
It was very tough, especially because of the heat that particular morning, and having itchen bridge at the end of the race - that incline, twice, at 11 miles, was a little soul destroying, but I do appreciate the course had to be carefully worked out to be 13.1 miles.
My only gripe, although I'm not sure how it could be resolved, is that on my way around whilst taking great gulps of air as you can imagine, is having to inhale smoke from the spectators. It didn't happen a great deal, but once was more than enough. I'm sure the other runners didn't appreciate it either, and quite frankly I'm astounded that those people didn't give it a second thought.
Other than that, as enjoyable as a half marathon can be!
The motivators, pacers, people giving out water and people giving up their time to support the event and the runners were absolutely excellent.
Thank you!

Well planned route with excellent mile signage and great support from all. I would suggest avoiding a overlap between different distances as this caused a bit of confusion and added an unnecessary obstacle to the race.
Well done for organising, I hope to be back next year.

The organisation of the event was brilliant . The volunteers and marshals were friendly and helpful and made the experience eventful and fun. The was a great atmosphere all around . Loved the massage, the medal and the Tshirt and would definitely run the 10k or half marathon. again. Well done .
