The Weather Window was very easy to set up. I mean, usually it's much harder than you expect. But in this case, it came packaged well, it's a great looking product, it connected to my network with no issues, and the setup was really intuitive on the Ambient Weather web page. It looks amazing. I definitely recommend it.

I'd really like to give this 4.5 stars, but that isn't an option and I'd rather not do 5 and give the impression that it's perfect.

The weather station itself I'd give 5 stars. Granted we've only had it about a month, but it seems well-made, was easy to setup and mount, came with simple to follow instructions, and has been, as best I can tell, very accurate in temp, wind, and rain measurements.

Coming from an AcuRite 5-in-1 station that, to be honest, had been a good unit for over a decade, I had high expectations given the higher price-point of the WS-5000. Time will tell, but so far I haven't been disappointed. I also feel like the ultrasonic wind meter (vs the spinning wind cups which were the part that stopped functioning as well and ultimately led shopping for a new weather station) will increase the longevity of this unit over the AcuRite.

My biggest complaint is with the console / display screen. The resolution and viewing angle are light-years beyond the screen for our old AcuRite ... however, between the smaller screen size and the amount and density of the data displayed on the screen, it is MUCH harder to read at a distance. Our living and dining rooms are one large area and the kitchen joins the dining room via a large (10ft wide) opening. So we placed the screen on the wall in the edge of the dining room. This meant our recliners in the living room were close-by and one only needed to peak around the corner from the kitchen to view the screen. Unfortunately, with 40+ year old eyes and much smaller text, it's really only the outside temp and current wind speed that are readable at those distances (still not more than 12-15 ft).

Given that the screen layout is nothing but a bit of software, this *could* be a pretty easy fix (I'd still prefer a larger screen, though). If they offered a CUSTOMIZABLE and condensed view where you could place the 6 or so most important items on the screen and leave the rest on the current, more detailed view, I think that would do the trick.

The only other minor complaint is the lack of any sort of sensor signal repeater in their offerings. I have a chicken coop and a detached shop where I would love to stick a couple of sensors, but I found that the distance and number of walls is too great for the sensors to reach the hub themselves. I expected this and can't complain about that ... just wish I could purchase an accessory to help extend that signal and make use of sensors further away from the house itself.

We love it.

Good design and easy installation

So far so good…easy to setup!

The product description made it clear that it would work with my 2000 system. Shipping was good. One of the set screws was missing but I was replacing the unit (because it failed) I was able to use the screw from the old one. The activation at the display was vary intuitive

Quality made. Fairly straightforward to assemble. All the sensors connected automatically...

Good job, fast, spot on-

Works good, fairly easy to install. Just be aware that older wind speed sensors (like mine) are incompatible. You will need to replace it for $25 if you want that ability.

WS5000 was relatively easy to assemble and get set up. It is currently performing exactly the way I had hoped.

great product

Exactly what I wanted

So far 3 weeks in, things are going well with the weather station. It was reasonably easy to set up and the documentation is pretty good. The wifi connection to the router has been rock solid. We haven't had a lot of rain since it was installed but it does seem to be a little low, even without the heavy rain where that low bias would be expected. But I can always calibrate it if the bias shows up consistently.

We'll see how this station holds up long term in the AZ sun and heat.

These are great but eventually need to be replaced after several years. some items continued but the wind readings went out.

I purchased the weather station as a Christmas gift for my wife. When I installed it, I was not able to lock in the funnel to the station. I wondered why it did not lock in. I should have fastened it with silicone or something but didn’t. It disappeared within the first month along with the coil. I assume the wind took it far far away, as I could not find it!
I was able to order this replacement funnel, but could not figure out how to get a coil. This time when I installed it I used some silicone to fasten it in. Hopefully it does the trick! Maybe ambient could have it twist in to lock moving forward? Would save a lot of time and $ for customers.

I hope it stays where it belongs during the next hurricane.
