This was a replacement for a monitor that broke. Working ok so far.

Originally I purchased a WS-2700 with an additional two sensors and AC adapter. Later, I browsed again and noticed that the WS-3000 included three sensors and the AC adapter for just a bit more. Then, I noticed that it supported up to eight total sensors in various configurations, i.e. liquid sensors for aquaria, or swimming pool, soil, or refrigerator/freezer. Well, this is getting better and better. Lucky for me I had saved the original packaging for the WS-2700 and I was within the 30-day FREE return period so I called for assistance and was answered by a very polite person, John. He directed me to await an email that would explain all and include an RMA/RGA? for free return to Ambient. It arrived very soon and I drove to the UPS store where it was shipped for FREE. I was credited the same amount I paid for the device and then ordered the WS-3000. This is what you’re waiting for… right? I bought the device which included 3 sensors and AC adapter, then added the wireless Ethernet IP module, SD card and 2 more probe sensors. The probe sensors are inside my refrigerator and freezer and now I know that my freezer is too cold and too warm. The temperature fluctuates from -4ºF to 25ºF. 0º is optimal, so I’m looking for a new refrigerator. I wouldn’t have known without the device. Whereas the WS-2700 shows a high and low range for 3 sensors, the WS-3000 shows 5 temps and a graph that can be adjusted from 12-72 hours range. Overall I like this very well and would like it even better if someone would write an application for Macs. Currently I’m unable to interface with the data saved to the SD card, unable to access the current data from the display on my Mac, unable to fully utilize this device. But I knew that when I purchased it and don’t feel let-down. If you already own a Windows machine you’ll absolutely love this device. If you, like me, own a Mac you may like it immensely and wish that someone would write a Mac application. I haven’t used the wireless Ethernet IP module, yet. I’ll need a switch to connect it to my crowded router. Then, I’ll be able to share my local data with others through AmbientWeather.net and other services, too.

It works great but the display is very hard to read. You have to be straight on and even with it.

Great product. Good pricing! Thanks

The WS-5000 was easy to install. I decided to purchase this station due to the high winds we have in the Texas Panhandle wearing out two previous models with spinning anemometers. So far this unit has met all of my expectations.

I recently ordered the Lightning Detector from Ambient Weather. It was easy to order it online, and they shipped it to me within three days. Very fast and great customer support.

The sensor works great. It is exciting to be able to track lightning strikes in the mid atlantic area where I live.

I do have a suggestion for Ambient Weather. I ordered the WS-5000 weather station from one of their authorized resellers. Ambient Weather at the time was our of stock on the unit and they did not have an estimated time of delivery. I received the WS-5000 and I have really enjoyed it. When I went to order additional sensors from Ambient Weather, I noticed that I was not eligible to get the preferred discount price because I did not order it directly from them. As a customer, I would think they would want to treat all their customers equally and encourage them to continue to buy and support their products. It also shows that they don't value their reseller channel.

Very nice setup for my RV

Works well!!

Simple setup - easy to get started and see results. I’m exploring the online tools now.

Works GREAT will keep the birds out of the rain gauge

Thank you for making this available without the extra parts. The person I talked to was most helpful, and shipping was very fast. The mast is super easy to install.

Works great, not sure how the other one came off. Took 4 weeks to arrive but that's USPS not Ambient! Maybe in the future, you might offer Priority Mail as a shipping option?

Great quick solution for pool temperature sensor. I would like to see a long term solution using a floating-bob sensor approach like the "Ambient Weather F007PF 8-Channel Wireless Pool and Spa Remote Sensor for WS-07, WS-08, WS-09". But really like your products!

Purchased as an upgrade to my original WS-2902. Works just fine.

The WS-5000 replaced a 6yr old Ambient Weather WS-1001 station.
Purchased this model basically due to the separate rain collector & the ultrasonic wind feature (the older unit anemometer had issues with heavy snow accumulation)
Did order the optional lightning sensor & mounted it outside. Still need to still de-tune it a bit due to occasional false alerts, but waiting on the first storm.
The display is easily read and laid out in a logical format.
Menu configuration and setup is very similar to the older model replaced; not complicated but still clunky.
The multiple sensors have reliably connected to the console w/o issue. The console sits in the basement, the main array is across the house & on the chimney. The rain gauge & lightning sensor are mounted at a common location is the yard.
The initial sensor calibration seems accurate & inline with other stations in the immediate area. Have not found a need to adjust any from the factory default (barometer aside). The rain gauge has been in-line with the CoCoRaHS cylinder measurements.
The console successfully pushes data to the AW, WU & PWS servers. Have also interfaced the console to the Weather Display PC program, albeit the older WIFI Connect does not work & have have to use the WU and AW API setup.
The one item which dings the rating to 4 stars has been the WIFI setup & connection quality.
The WIFI scan is slow & only brings up 1 node randomly, even though the house has 2 routers in close proximity; the older WS1001 would find both immediately & a neighbors or two additional nodes.
The consoles' WIFI connection status is even slower. A minute or two can elapse before the status will update to 'connected', even though the routers status shows the connection immediately. Sometimes it will take 2 or 3 repeated connection attempts to finally show connected.
Random WIFI drop out /lockups have been occurring for no reason. Viewing historical data will show random data drop outs lasting from 1 to 4 hours. Checking the console when one is active will show the WIFI connection is lost. Both the console & WIFI firmware has been updated to latest version. The older WS-1001 was much more reliable with the WIFI.

I'd give it 5 stars but the brace supplied to mount the housing upright isn't strong enough to support the weight of the $50 protective housing this lightening detector mount in.

I used zip ties to hold the top of the upright mouth parallel with the pole our ws2000 isountrd on.

Its a hot

😎

VERY NICE EASY to add and safe guard my station.

Quick shipping. Easy setup
