Accuracy much better than WS-1001 w/ WIFI

works and looks great.

All in all I am happy with the purchase. It was shipped promptly and well packed so no shipping damage. It was easy to assemble and mount and communicated immediately with the display module. Overall the instructions were clear and easy to understand, with one major exception that lost it a star.
The instructions for connecting to wi-fi left out, or confused, the need to connect your phone and installation app to the display wi-fi signal. Fortunately there are several youtube videos available that showed how to do it. Otherwise I would have needed to wast my time dealing with phone support.

Overall a very good weather station. I love the ultrasonic wind sensor since there are no moving parts to wear out. The information is nicely laid out and easy to read on the display, the app and the website. But there are some issues. The RF range is far less than advertised. It is supposed to be 1000' in an open field, line of sight, and 300' in normal use through a wall or two. I was unable to get a connection at 300' outdoors in the open with a clear line of sight. I get about 100' with the display mounted on the inside of an exterior wall, with nothing else in between. Another issue is wind reporting on the weather map. it appears to be showing my gust wind speed rather than current wind speed, or better yet it should show an average wind speed over some time period. There are some bugs in the app too. When you bring up the app, it does not always update the data, so you have to check the time for the data reported and manually update it sometimes. Even then, I've seen it report the time as "a minute ago" but the graphs are still showing old data. These are intermittent problems. Clicking the graph icon at the bottom of each tile consistently brings up the weather map instead. None of these are showstoppers and again, the overall quality of the station and software is good. I would definitely buy again, or recommend to a friend.

I was 100% pleased. It's up and running fine.

Great experience! Had the part I needed, great price, didn’t take long to arrive, simple order and check out. Really couldn’t have been better.

Great replacement, easy directions to follow and install.

I liked the weather station (WS 2700) once the correct transmitter was sent to replace the wrong one that came with the weather station. Ambient responded quickly to my complaint and the correct part was sent immediately. I found it impossible to reach a consultant directly by calling Ambien but left a message and they did call back as promised within 1 business day. The agents were courteous, knowledgeable and responsive when I was able to connect with them. I am pleased with the product and would assume that the initial mismatch of station and transmitter is not a common occurrence.

WiFi connections works awesome.

Great station

Great instrument cluster. So far so good. Console very basic but I bought for the internet functionality so it doesn't matter.

It's big.

Have owned it less than a month and still having issues. It won't record rainfall and both of the soil moisture meters randomly lose signal. This is the second Ambient Weather station I've purchased in less than 2 years; may be my last one.

Good on big picture, but lacking on the good to great details.
Display loses data records on power loss unless micro SD card installed.
Display has a USB port but USB memory devices, such as flash drives, that could be connected with an adapter cable are not supported. A direct connection to a PC for data downloads or real time data logging is also not supported.
Display wastes screen space on sun location that could be used to permanently display data from addon devices rather than cycling through the indoor temp/humidity screen space.
Rain gauge cannot be side mounted on a pole.
The ultrasonic anemometer has a heater and base wiring built in, (good) but nothing in the documentation as to when heating might be needed.
The heater connection only comes with 65' of wire pre-terminated to the connectors. Why not a do-it-yourself kit to make any length you want? Personally, I think I'd prefer to run an extension cord out to the transformer mounted close to the weather station and then use about 5' of connector wire.

Overall, we are very happy with the new design. The smaller footprint a pie on the pole means less mass for high winds to cause problems. Having the rain gauge separate is a very good idea. We also like the sonic anemometer, which seems to be quite accurate. On our previous WS-2902 model, we had recurring hygrometer issues. We had three of them go out over a 3 year period. We are hopeful that has also been redesigned and improved on the new WS-5000.

Connected to my console very easily. The only shortcoming I see is not having a way to test it. I have it installed in a fairly inaccessible space, so I have to go on blind faith that it will sound the alarm and send an alert if a leak is detected.

Simply the best station I've ever owned.

Replaced module in weather station without any issues.

Bought and installed the Ambient WS-2902C WiFi weather station. It was easy to setup and it works great. Used our old wooden windmill base as a support for the weather station. This will work well for easy maintenance. Since the galvanized steel pole can slide of the windmill base much like a patio umbrella there is no need to climb a ladder. Very happy with it's performance and the many professional features it has.

Very happy with my new weather station only issue I had was getting it to connect to my router in the 2.0 GHz band, had to find an old cell phone that only had 2.0 GHz capability to make the connection now everything is working well.
