I'm impressed. The anemometer readings seemed too low, which is why I purchased the handheld. The two readings are very close to exactly the same, and the rain gauge has been within 100th of an inch of my manual gauge. I'm impressed.

It's doing exactly what I wanted it to do. Thanks.

Very pleased so far.

Great

Very good installation and operating instructions. Reliable and accurate weather data.

I previously owned a WS-2902 "Osprey" that I was very happy with, but a falling tree limb destroyed it along with the section of fence it was mounted to. In replacing it, I decided to upgrade to the WS-5000. I'm glad I did.

I'm very happy with the WS-5000, even if I do miss watching an anemometer spin in the wind. My one and only complaint is the size of the information displays on the tablet. The WS-2902's display was very easy to read, even without my eyeglasses. The WS-5000's is not, although there is the obvious advantage in that it conveys far more information. I do like the extra information, but I wish it was easier to read.

At first, I was also a little disappointed that the rain gauge was separate from the rest of the unit. Then, I realized the advantage. On my WS-2902, the integral rain gauge failed about every two years and needed to be replaced. This required unmounting the whole unit, opening it, unplugging and removing the old gauge, installing and connecting the new one, reassembling the unit and then re-mounting it. With the separate gauge, replacement (if needed) will be far simpler.

Again, overall, I am thrilled with my WS-5000 and am happy I upgraded.

Works

Works as advertised

The product was exactly what I needed and prompt shipped five star

The Ambient Weather WS-5000 Ultrasonic Professional Smart Weather Station & Thermo Hygrometer work fine. They are a bit pricey.

I am very pleased with my Ambient Weather station. I've had other weather stations and this one has the features and remote access I have been looking for. Not only do I get current conditions, but I get a comprehensive forecast. Remote access allows me to check on weather conditions at home when I'm away.

Checked all my requirements boxes and then some. Well thought-out, designed and manufactured. Especially appreciate the 24H time display option. Am in a marginal area for WWV and had reception issues with other "atomic" clocks. This one synchronized (believe the user manual and be patient - it did take a couple of days) and has worked perfectly since. Matched the barometer to a general aviation airfield about a mile away. It's tracked within 0.02" Hg. since. Although it wasn't an issue for me, the signal strength meter for the external probes is an example of how well thought-out this product is. Exterior temperatures track well - I did spring for an ventilated enclosure for the probe even though it's in a shaded area. Not only happy with the results, will highly recommend.

A perfect replacement for wind cups destroyed in a hailstorm. Shipped quickly.

I would rate everything about this weather station as excellent.
The only problem I had was with mounting it level, the mounting system tends to make the device tilt as you tighten it to a mounting pole. I had to shim it to keep it level.

I am happy with my new WS-5000. The station was easy for me to assemble and get up and running quickly. I do wish there was a way to access the station locally as there is with the WS-1400-IP. I have had to modify my local programs to capture the WS-5000 data using the Ambient API. This will work fine as long as Ambient and the Internet stay up. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase,

I bought WS-5000 with the optional WH31 lightning detector and bird spikes for rain gauge. Setup was not error free as had to get familiarized with the directional arrow and enter selection method for entering names and data for setup. (Combersome)
Once had setup completed, had signal on ambient weather android app that lightning detector battery needed replacement after 2 days. Replaced battery and 2 days later same app reported lightning detector battery needed replacement again. iPad app reported all batteries ok. Found support pages for low signal said to check and update console firmware to latest. Checked firmware and found that my console was on version 1.6.4 latest release was 1.6.9. I had updated the WiFi firmware to 4.2.9 using the awnet app. This does not update the console app and looked through the ambient weather support pages and found out an sd card is required for updating the console. Found a 4 g sd card and updated firmware. Low battery alert cleared and everything seems to be working. Checked back today on the support page for the WH31L and noticed that it now lists procedure if Ambientweather.net is showing low battery for lightning detector after batteries replaced.
Things to consider during setup.
1. Check firmware is the latest upon initial startup. Console firmware updated using sd card while WiFi update uses awnet app.
2. Bug zappers will give false lightning strikes if within 30 feet of lightning detector.
3. Both unit pole mounts must be mounted on poles between 1.25 and 2 inches. May be loose if on pole that is right at 1.25 inches thick. I had to use a layer of foil tape to get mount to pole without slipping.

Favorite weather station. Accurate and precise.

Bring on monsoon season!

Got this to upgrade from the WS-2902C and I LOVE it! I loved and was so happy with my 2902C, but the 5000 was a treat to myself and does not disappoint!

Works great. Keeps the WH31 out of direct sunlight and allows for ventilation.
