Ambient Weather WS-5000 Ultrasonic Professional Smart Weather Station & Thermo Hygrometer
I replaced a 3+ year old WS-2902 with the WS-5000. While the 2902 is a one piece unit and that is convenient, having the sensors in different units is very nice. The rain collector can be mounted in a place that is easy to access for maintenance. The temp and wind unit is mounted on a tall J-pole off my second story deck which allows for better wind measurements.
The updated panel is probably my favorite feature, it displays so much info and even more sensors can be added for additional measurements. So far, this model is exceeding my expectations.

I've had a WS2000 for a couple of years. The main thing I don't like about it is that when snow piles up, several things happen: the wind speed gizmo gets trapped in the snow, then the wind vane gets trapped, and, finally, the precipitation reporting is delayed until the air temp gets near/above 32. The WS500 solves the 1st 2 of those problems due to the technology (the WS5000 has no wind vane or anemometer (in the usual sense) - I don't have any way to verify wind speed and direction vs. the WS2000 except to compare them; the readings I get are similar but not identical - hmmm, which to believe. In my case I only care in a general sense, so it doesn't matter too much. It seems to me that the snow melts faster on the WS5000, so the precipitation report is more timely, perhaps? Overall, I'm happy with the WS5000, although I wish it didn't cost so much.

I love it, but having an issue with the “inside” temperature and humidity sensors… they are NOT correct, and I’ve attempted to calibrate numerous times… Reads 106 deg F, when it’s only 66 deg F inside out home.

It was a little complicated to set up and mount compared to my old WS-1001, but I really love the fast 5-second updates, especially for wind. The battery status reporting is also a welcome addition. I do miss the graph charting for barometric pressure, and the outdoor humidity is also really tiny on the screen. But the new color screen overall is a nice update.

We love the ambient weather ws5000. This is an upgrade for an older model. My favorite part is we can see wind speed within about 3 seconds. Very accurate, nearly instant, information.

Works great! Wish the monitor was a little brighter and easier to see, you have to almost look down on it.

Our WS-5000 is great and appears to be accurate. It was easy to set up on my existing tripod. It is nice to have an instrument with no moving parts that could eventually wear out. The new display is well laid out and much easier to read than the old display.

So far (3 days) the WS-2902C is everything I expected. Set-up was straightforward and without incident. The station is installed in my back garden and is recording and broadcasting all advertised weather data measurements. I’m very satisfied with the purchase.

Ambient Weather WS-2000 Smart Weather Station with WiFi Remote Monitoring and Alerts & Thermo Hygrometer
This replaced another brand station that was giving erratic readings. I couldn't be happier (Maybe a lower price), Easy to set up and had everything working in a couple of hours. I wish there would be a phone widget so I could see temp on home screen. Nice bright and sharp display with all info. Looking forward to summer when I can monitor soil moisture and rain fall for my veg garden.

So far so good. I like the WS-5000, I am waiting for Ambient to get the sensors I need in stock.
A little more expensive but well worth it. I would recomend the WS-5000.

Great gismo and the ultrasonic wind gauge works great...We have had so little rain that I am not certain the the rain gauge really works. Ambient should add a way to calibrate the rain gauge

It's so cool! My kids are weather fans now as well. It is real nice to not have to fire up a web app to get local data. When it gets warmer I will be moving the unit to a permanent home, but I just wanted to get it working quickly.

Replaced my old weather worn WS-1200 with the new WS-5000. Setup was easy for Ambient Weather communication. Not so much so with WU but after finally deleting old station and data finally got it on and recording. Hoping to have a few years trouble free!
