The station is what is advertised. I appreciate the dew point feature as well as the barometer graduated scale.

A good product to keep birds and droppings off your weather station. Not too expensive. Important - read the directions carefully. You will get two metal bands. One is a spare. Make sure you do not insert the metal band into itself until you have placed the rubber pin holders on the band. Once you insert the metal band into itself it is locked and you can’t open it again. Make sure the rubber pin holder holes where you insert steel pins are on top.

I was so glad that the only problem with my Ambient Weather station was the power supply. Easy fix with a replacement power supply.

Easy to install and seems well made. I am happy.

Very easy to set up. I like the display. Very happy with the range of temps it can handle.
The only thing I would change would be to add the ability to view the date and time of the min and max recordings. (I do not reset it daily.)

My original array had stopped transmitting. The new sensor array fixed the issue and transparently started communicating with the base. With guidance from Ambient Weather customer support, the new array addressed everything as expected.

works as expected

Remote indoor sensor is not working. Not installed yet.

(We have not had any rain yet. I'm assuming the rain gauge will work under real-world conditions.)

My review would be more positive with just a couple of feature changes. Every other thermometer in the house can set its time accurately/automatically from the NOAA radio signal. Why can't this unit do that? Also, viewing the display from ANY angle other than straight-on shows a ghosting of the data background. Charge me $10 more and give me a modern-commodity display.

Solved the problem of no wind or rain monitoring. Good customer service and communication throughout the shipment process. Reconnection process took a couple of try's. You have to do a hard reset in your base unit once connection is established. It might help to include a quick 1/4 page reconnection procedure in the future.

This was a replacement for one that had been broken. Better than the original. Colors seem a lot brighter. Works great.

The cups were broken off when a branch blew down onto the weather station. While searching for replacements my weather station model number wasn’t listed. I ordered anyway and luckily they worked.

A very compact effective weather station, I decided to run both my ws2000 and ws4000 together and what I found was the wind readings were now very close to what the local weather was reporting as wind gusts and steady state winds which was not the case with my ws2000. The rain readings are basically the same after I clean the ws2000 collection basket and sensor cups. I really like the fact that there are no moving parts.

My product shipment was in error but corrected quickly and efficiently. I now have a fabulous system!!

Installation was difficult because it lies somewhere between intuitive and an inadequate instruction manual. That is, while mostly intuitive, the instruction manual fails to inform at critical steps. The quick setup guide in the instruction manual referred to sections that weren't in there. However, once set up everything seems to be working well. The phone app also works well.

Delivered on schedule. Packaged ok.
Functions mostly excellently. Except so far it has not updated time using the WWV radio time signal. Fairly well laid out display, very usable.
A few quibbles:
- Display needs another, less bright, display option. It now has two, very bright and bright. It needs another half again (at least) less bright. I don't want a Las Vegas style florescent bill board on my desk.
- Pressing the "Snooze" after displaying data for, say, 20 seconds, the screen should turn off, rather than displaying the next brightness level.
- Pressing Snooze after the display has off for, say, 20 seconds or more should light the screen with the previous, _last used_, brightness setting rather than force one to cycle through the available brightness options until one reaches the desired previous, last used, level. This because most people will find one particular brightness setting good and cycling through all of them to get to the last used level is a pain.
- There s/b an option in Settings such that when running on wall power, pressing Snooze after the display has been off for, say 20 seconds, the display lights with the previous, last used, brightness setting for 5 seconds. sorta like what happens when running on the battery. Pushing Snooze twice quickly will light the screen as above. Again, I don't want a neon sign on my desk - I just need to glance at the weather data once in a while.
Basically, it works good, just too bright to leave on all the time. Especially not in a bedroom.

I bought this to replace my WS2000. Too soon to leave an honest review.

About 7 years ago we were given a prior model which worked well until the plastic became brittle and broke by the solar panel disabling the unit. We liked it so much we purchased the replacement for Christmas this year. It is up and working.

It works great.

My first Ambient unit lasted 6 years in the Oregon weather. Big wind took it out. New Weather station works perfectly. Highly recommend this unit.
