This was an add on to a gifted ws2000. That was purchased through Amazon and they didn't offer it there, so I bought it direct from WS.
As far as the concept and its purpose that's why I got it.

Ambient Weather WS-2902 Home Weather Station with WiFi Remote Monitoring and Alerts & Thermo Hygrometer
I recently ordered a second unit as a replacement for one in which I had battery leakage causing it to fail. It had been going for 2 years flawlessly. My new year's resolution is to change the battery annually whether it needs it or not!

Ambient Weather WeatherMount Weather Station Mount
I'm pleased with the weather station. The 18 inch sections it's mounted to I'm not impressed with at all. Go buy a single section of conduit. Far less cheesy than what they're going to sell you.

Ambient Weather WS-2902-AC Replacement AC Adapter, WS-2902 Wireless Weather Station
Ws5000 monitor transformer is only 3 yrs old and dropped voltage too low to run the station monitor. That also means no data capture from any instruments and no data uploads to online records….with no code given. Basically the monitor kept trying to reboot over and over. A call to tech support and they diagnosed the problem most likely. Not a warranted, so had to pay. But it fixed the issue-I’m glad but missed about a weeks data being down.
