When it came time to replace my 20 year old Ambient Weather station, I looked at the alternatives. Ambient Weather still comes out ahead in price/performance for personal weather stations. Buying the newest WS-2000 was easy and shipping was fast. I probably shouldn't have waited this long for the upgrade, but I have been very pleased with the new hardware.

I purchased a replacement part for a broken wind speed indicator on my WS2000 station, only to find out it wasn’t compatible since my station was 3 years old. So I ordered a full Array replacement which so far I’ve been unable to connect to my existing display. So while I love my station, the experience with replacement parts has not been satisfactory. I’ve even posted a help desk/ trouble ticket with no response, so far.

I purchased a product that was supposed to be compatible with my ws2902b, but as it turns out, it was not. The new one had a 3 hole connector and mine had 2 posts. I called tech support and left a message, but no one called me back. I returned the product and had to pay over $12 in postage and when I filled out the form on ambients sight, it said there is a 15% restocking fee. So, it’s going to cost me about $20 to return a product, that was supposed to work, but it didn’t. It was not my fault that the product was not compatible. As you can tell, it has been a very frustrating experience.

Was gifted a weather station and went online to purchase mount and extender. The mount seems to work fine. the extender makes the station sit way wonky and unlevel. I emailed support to ask if I made a mistake or need to buy a different part. I provided pictures as requested. Then I seem to have been ghosted. Followed up with a 3rd email yesterday and waiting for a response. The weather station is functioning fine, seems like it'll be a fun thing once the mount situation is resolved.

We really like the performance of the weather station itself. It is top notch. The display however is not bright enough for our older eyes and has a limited viewing angle. The cord on the AC/DC transformer was also shorter than necessary for placement up higher to improve viewing of the display.

Replacement part- outdoor sensor array that was destroyed by the wind. To my surprise the shipping was overnight at no additional charge. The sensor array was having difficulty connecting to my console. One phone call and the matter was handled quickly with expert technical assistance. I will continue to buy from Ambient.
