Couldn't be happier, we've had our new ws-5000 setup for about 1 week. Installation was a breeze and connecting to wifi & the ambient weather network went step by step easy. The only issue I ran into during install was mounting the bird spike kit, i ended up using 3 old school zip ties because I couldn't get that stainless clamping strap to tighten up. Some of the menu settings took a bit of arrow up, down, right, left, but it was very doable, reminiscent of setting the old VCR flashing clock.

Quick service on parts

My shopping experience at Ambient Weather was split into two parts, and the mediocre rating is the average between a bad experience and a good experience.
I had intended to purchase the Ambient Weather WS-2000 weather station as a birthday gift for our housemate (two families share the same house). The Fathers Day sale on the WS-5000 persuaded me to upgrade, but the web site stalled on the last step of the purchase. I tried three more times, including with a different browser and on a different computer, but the transaction would not go through. This was the bad experience.
Thus, I called the Sales phone number to put the order through a person. And the salesman encountered the same glitch, so the transaction could not go through.
Six days later I tried again and this time the salesman could finish the transaction. He said that a mistake in setting up the Fathers Day sale had been stopping the transaction. This was the good experience.
We now have our weather station set up in the meadow in our yard, the display is in our living room, and the results are shared with the internet via wifi. Assembly was difficult because the user manual is mostly a reference book about features rather than a guide for new users.

My original WS failed after two years and I was told that’s not to be unexpected. The replacement was out of stock and nobody could tell me when it would be available. I had to keep checking back on the website to find out when it was available. Also, I think I should have gotten a discount for a replacement item.

Great all around!!!

exactly as promised - no issues.

Purchased the wrong sensor on Amazon. Ambient took that on back, thru Amazon, and provided the correct sensor.

Display's different colors make this one harder to read. Other than that, great product.

The site is easy to use to select the model of weather station.

Ws500 is a nice upgrade

I was grateful that a new part was sent. No instructions for installing the new part were included and it took me a while to figure what needed to be done. I figured it out and the unit is now in operation.

Although the item ordered (on 06/09/2023) arrived in a quick and timely manner (on 06/12/2023), the item received did not match the item ordered. The item received was marked as a PM25 (outdoor air quality sensor) but the item in the box was a PM25IN (indoor air quality sensor). I filled out an online support request (ticket #31740) on 06/12/2023, however a week later I have yet to receive a response from Ambient Weather.

This rating is about the results, or the sensor readings which are very good. The assembly was rough, with many re-reads of the instructions. Still waiting on a response on my support ticket on claiming my MAC address.

All good!

Purchased replacement outdoor temp and humidity part. Insstalled and station is back up and running like a champ.

I said it earlier.

The lightening detector module was extremely easy to set up, and works great, with WS-2000. Still playing with the sensitivity settings to get a detection range of 10-15 miles, now detects greater than 25 miles. A great addition to any Ambient Weather set-up

Perfect! Fast delivery, items received well packaged and exactly as described. Good value, too!

Overall easy enough but to a new purchaser it is not 100% clear on the options and details that might be required to got a new installation done.

Everyone I spoke to was very kind and helpful. They did their best to help me buy the weather station I wanted but it turned out the web site had issues. I did get my order and it is on the way.
