The Ancient Faith Prayer Book
I own many of the current Orthodox prayer books. This has become one that I use more often, and perhaps this would be my recommended prayer book (but St. Tikhon's is also excellent). This one is perhaps simpler than others, which to me actually makes it more useable than the others. But it also has beauty.
My only criticisms are that the translation goes out of its way to not use the original title of "Theotokos" for Our Lady, instead substituting "Mother of God", which is not the same title. Also it lacks the full "Axion estin", and instead has "More honorable than the cherubim".

My husband and I love reading this together. It's a compiled Lives of Married Saints and goes into the details of their marriages. on details we wouldn't generally know about. For example, it describes the marriage relationship of St John of Kronstadt in great depth while this information is hard to find elsewhere.
My husband and I have given this book as a gift to three married couple friends already and plan to give it out to more.
Wonderful to have in the family! And to read together as a family!

This book is a good read it is easy to read and has a spiritual journey. Also has some funny stories. I also have her second book I can't wait to read it. We are using this book for our book club that we have at church. The women seem to really like it and sometimes can relate to some of the stories that this author is telling on her journey while visiting a monastery.

I was a little disappointed that the audible version is not read by Father Mellitios, but it is still excellent. A definite 5 stars for the book. I gifted the ebook twice but personally prefer paperback or hardcover for taking notes.

The Trial of Job: Orthodox Christian Reflections on the Book of Job
Of all the books I've read in Fr Patrick's series, this is the shortest. Nonetheless, it examines Job chapter by chapter and provides a succinct but not shallow analysis of what is perhaps one of the most difficult to understand books in the Bible.
For anyone going through struggle, remember how Job suffered and how God rewarded him in the end. This book may well assist you but I think it's more to help the perplexed academic comprehend the text. There are few like it for both its brevity and depth.

This book is just was I was hoping for to use during our family devotional time. It is very well put together, well thought through, and allows for interaction with my kids. They love finding where the saint lived on our world map, looking at the historical timeline in the front of the book, and reading out loud the interesting facts section. I have found all three of my kids reading the book throughout the day. Excellent resource!

My children love I Spy books…I mean, LOVE them. We own so many search and find books: I Spy, Can You See What I See, Seymour…with that said, I love this book. The idea of it and the arrangement of items.
However…
I wish so badly the authors would have spared no expense with publishing. The thing that makes I Spy books so great is the high-definition photos and glossy pages which makes it easier to see details. Unfortunately this book was printed with low-quality images and matte pages. It just didn’t have the same feel as a mainstream search and find book.
I sincerely hope that this is reprinted with higher quality images and paper and I will definitely be rebuying it!
