Most beautiful cards - so grateful to find them

A treasure! Every Christian household should have a copy. Consider as a graduation, baptism or chrismation gift. Pure gold in print!

love it!!!

If you feels the prayers of the liturgy are boring and repetitive please read this book. Fr. Stavros Akrotirianakis did a phenomenal job in walking through the Divine Liturgy, explaining all the rituals and reflecting on every phrase. I listened to the audiobook, but I recommend you to buy the book as well because there is a lot of prayers that you can go back to whenever you feel you are bored during the liturgy. I promise you after reading this book you will see the liturgy with different eyes and enjoy every part of it.

I most appreciate the each chapter’s ending with supporting quotes from Scripture and the saints and fathers of the Church.

We had bought a copy of this book several years ago for our granddaughter and when she comes here, I have regularly seen her pick it up and read it even though there are many other books on "her" shelf. I love how it suggests all the different times one can turn to God and ask for his mercy- or as I explain it, his attention. The pictures are adorable and the teaching about praying without ceasing is invaluable. I'd love to see more books like this! We bought this book for a child that is yet to be born.

Like the Divine Liturgy itself, this book is a beautiful mixture of intricate theology and down-to-earth practicality. Father Stavros' writing is radiant with humility and deep thoughtfulness as he takes the reader slowly through this central service of the Church. I especially liked how he provides a selection of scripture to accompany each section of the liturgy as well as specific advice about what should occupy our minds as each prayer is being prayed.
I listened to the audiobook, which was read wonderfully, but I would recommend buying the print addition instead--there are many suggestions for prayer, which were difficult to fully engage with in the audio format.

It is a well written book.

I found this book very inspiring! It was recommended to me by my godmother before baptism, and im glad i bought a copy!

This work is incredibly detailed, and surprisingly easy to read. almost every point made is supported by primary sources from the Church Fathers and are directly quoted. It is a must have for any Orthodox Catechuman!

Have their leather copy at my home. This is my copy for my office.

Under Reardon’s hand, the story of Job surprises, inspires and edifies. A great read.

I like to bring a church-related book to services for my 9 year old, and this book is a perfect fit for her age group (and even for her older siblings). I love to study saints and history, so this book has tons of elements that I love. It's laid out alphabetically, with a key on the side of the page which includes an icon, name, date and location, as well as vocation and feast day. Besides Nicholas Malara's beautiful illustrations, each entry also includes maps and photographs or illustrations of historical artifacts. I love seeing medical instruments St. Hermione would have used, St. Saba's monastery, and the Byzantine map of Constantinople from the time of Pulcheria. These details root the saints in the physical world, reminding us that these are more than fairy tales. These are real people, from every corner of the earth, whose show us a myriad of ways to live out the Christian life. Definitely a good pick for history lovers.

There are some wonderful saints in this volume. I love Ss. Perpetua and Felicity, and this illustrations of them as mothers is so beautiful! The books includes modern saints, too. My kids always enjoy those. Its fun to see real photographs of modern saints and remember that God continues to be glorious in his saints.

My 9 year old daughter enjoyed the pictures and liked reading the stories. She said she would enjoy using it during church and other times. My 17 year old daughter was also enamored with it! She loved the reference features, being able to look saints up by date or alphabetical order, and the color coding on the side that indicates what time period the saint came from. She was wondering which saints are in 101 Saints, and so I'm thinking we'll have to add that book for Christmas. (Or when it's back in print?!)

This book is an easy read and captivating, and while the description was clear that it is a fiction novel, I would have preferred knowing that it is a romance novel. It isn't overly graphic, but many folks avoid novels that illicit lust, and I was disappointed to be surprised by this aspect of this book. I was also confused as to why the wedding had a Protestant/Catholic structure, including vows, from an Orthodox publisher. We are inundated with the Protestant/Catholic wedding format in America, why use this opportunity to continue spreading something less beautiful than the original sacrament of marriage?

I enjoyed the lighthouse aspect, the desire to belong, and choosing meaningful work over pleasure seeking, but would've preferred to know ahead of time that it has a strong romance theme.

This is my second purchase of this book! Is an easy read for children and young adults wanting to learn more about the Orthodox religion. I gifted this to an 11 year old and a 19 year old - both have enjoyed the reading and this has inspired additional conversation!

This book is beautiful:)

Waiting for part 3!

101 & 102 benefit all ages

Our family loved 101 Saints and this fresh batch of 102 Saints is a welcomed continuation of this priceless companion for our family

Another treasure from the publishers and authors at Ancient Faith! In Blessed is the Kingdom, Father Stavros walks hand in hand with us to unwrap the gift of the mysteries of our Divine Liturgy. He takes different sections of the liturgy and breaks it into easily digestible sections that are truly a joy to meditate on with him. I look forward to reading this book again and again!
