Food, Faith, and Fasting: A Sacred Journey to Better Health
Enjoyed reading, using some recipes. Aware that we pray before a meal and not after. Trying to change that habit.

The Ancient Faith Prayer Book, LARGE PRINT EDITION
As an inquirer to Orthodoxy I've found this to be a great "beginners" prayer book. The large print is great! I can read it during my prayer time without having to use my "cheaters" and that's saying a lot! I think the modern English in this is a great help! I wish more of the prayer books would use modern English. We don't really use words like "thee," "thine," and "beseech" which many prayer books retain. I suppose the older English sounds poetic to some and may enjoy that. For my part, using a more modern English helps me feel like the prayers are more sincere and come from the heart.
The only reason I didn't give this prayer book 5 stars is because, unlike other prayers books, it doesn't tell you when you should bow, do metania or prostrate yourself. For someone, like myself, who is still inquiring into Orthodoxy, those additions would be a great help!!

The Whole Counsel of God: An Introduction to Your Bible
Great book. Pretty short and easy to read. It gets into the weeds a little, but some folks may appreciate it. I would honestly recommend it to anyone who has any interest in reading the Bible.

The Ethics of Beauty
This book can only be described as a magnum opus. Both Christianity and academia owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Dr. Timothy Patitsas for this masterpiece. Certain to go down in history as a classic, I urge you not to simply read this book, but to mentally and spiritually digest it.

Of Such Is the Kingdom: A Practical Theology of Disability
I've read a lot of books on the theology of illness and disability. None of which have spoken in such plain, compassionate language as Kinard's book.
Anybody with a disability, anybody who has a loved one with a disability, anybody who ministers to somebody with a disability -- in other words, everybody should study this subject carefully. Including Summer's book in such a study is of paramount importance.
I highly endorse this book and offer prayers of thanksgiving that the Holy Spirit moved Summer to write it.

Rediscovering the Goodness of Creation: A Manual for Recovering Gnostics
A wonderful book. It takes pieces of the story and shows how it flows as God’s story. I see the whole picture for the first time clearly. Many questions were answered.

Irreplaceable book for Orthodox Christians
Thinking Orthodox: Understanding and Acquiring the Orthodox Christian Mind
This book explains the Orthodox Christian phronema, which is the mind of Christ and the early Church, as preserved in the Orthodox Church throughout the last 2 milennia. It dives into what theology means in the Orthodox context, and very strongly cautions those of us who are tempted to dabble in theology to avoid speaking of holy things we don't truly know from our own experience. I think all of us Orthodox who spend time online will benefit greatly from this book, but it's especially valuable for converts, and those who enjoy philosophy or ideological debates. Can't recommend it strongly enough! Dr Jeannie reads the audio book herself and if you like Search the Scriptures, you'll like this audio book just as well.
