A wonderful book about a wonderful saint! I would recommend to anyone!

Engaging and provocative for young children to interact with individually or in Sunday School. Could include reproducibles.

Excellent quality

I loved it! I bought several oranaments from you this past Christmas season and gave away all (but kept 1 for myself) and everyone who received the ornament raved about it! One of a kind! People who saw the ornament on my tree commented that it was "unique"! It symbolizes the true meaning of Christmas; the birth fo Jesus Christ, not the commercialism of giving expensive gifts! Please continue to stock this item and the other Christian religious ornaments and I promise I'll buy more!

A beautiful calenndar

Now that I have my own copy, I can practice icon coloring.

A fun, engaging book for little kids! Love the colorful illustrations too.

Wow! The whole family really enjoyed this!

Great read for anyone looking to get familiar with the history and tradition of the Orthodox Church. Well researched and articulated.

Sands of Salvation is the third graphic novel by Gabriel Wilson. I've read the first two to my daughter, who is almost 7, and we enjoyed them. She had been asking when another would come out so we were very excited to read this book!

Unlike the other two books, Sands of Salvation focuses more on spiritual warfare. There are vivid depictions of demons that might be frightening for more sensitive children. My daughter was scared by then when she flipped through the book and won't let me read it to her. I was disappointed but I read the book myself and loved it.

Wilson does an excellent job showing the cycle of violence. St Moses is traumatized by his life as a slave. The demons convince him to take what he wants by the sword. But nothing satisfies him and in the end, he dies as a result of that choice. "Those who live by the sword will die by the sword." I was particularly impressed by Wilson's development of the side characters. They felt even more fleshed out than the ones in his previous works and they had distinct personalities despite having minor roles. St Moses's life as a monk was not neglected and its depiction was very moving. His change and continued struggles were believable and it was understandable that others followed him into monasticism.

Overall, I loved this book and I hope Wilson has more planned!

Beautifully illustrated and engaging. Bought this as a gift for my son's 5th birthday.

Wonderful! You can never get enough help from the saints - especially need their protection while driving!

Excellent!

Thank you! I like it!

Excellent so far, albeit only 50 pages into it. I was meant to read this book! Grateful for DrRoccas’

Sands of Salvation by Gabriel Wilson

My son (age 10) and I were very excited to read the 3rd book from the Among the Saints series about St. Moses the Strong. We thoroughly enjoyed the first two and have equally enjoyed this one as well. This one is geared to an older reader as compared to the first two. The life of St. Moses is fascinating. He starts off a slave turned criminal and ends up as Abba Moses. St. Moses was freed from being a slave but not free from passions. He felt the turmoil in his soul and tried to find ways to numb this darkness with more riches, wine, a “happy plant” and it was just not enough. He had everything he thought he wanted and was still troubled inside. St. Moses shows us that the demons are our passions that hold us down in chains. We have to dig deep and have faith in our Lord to break free from these chains so we can truly be free. God didn’t give up on him and works in ways we sometimes can’t understand. As shown to St. Moses by his Elder Isidore, the demons are armed for battle but the army of angels is even greater.

St. Moses’ life comes full circle and is truly inspirational. I thank this graphic novel for opening the door to so many important discussions with my son which would have been quite hard otherwise. Gabriel Wilson masterfully integrates the simplistic nature of a graphic novel and still grasps such big spiritual topics and life’s trials that St. Moses endured that can be applied to our daily lives today. There are so many layers and discussions to be had after reading this graphic novel. It’s truly thought provoking. This is why our knowledge on the lives of Saints is so important. Reading about them is food for our soul. Through these graphic novels I am hopeful that it broadens the interest to many different people, of all ages, that may not have previously read up on the lives of our Saints.

Some other notes, the illustrations are impeccable. The inclusion of the forward, map, historical note on St. Moses’ life, the Troparion and Kontakion are all truly appreciated.

Great read!

This is (in my opinion) the best of the Gabriel Wilson books so far! Pretty intense and a bit mature--not for younger kids to listen in--but this wonderful graphic novel taught me some lessons as well. Highly recommend!
