I have a wonderful but stubborn Border Collie/German Shepherd mix who lived on the streets as a stray her first year. So she has an independent mind! I've been working with the e-collar for a few weeks now and am seeing great progress. It is not instant or automatic, but the collar is working and it is effective. It might be a bit easier with less stubborn dogs. Also, I had to learn a thing or two as I mention below. Our first two projects are stopping pulling on the leash, and incessant crying in the car. Both are going well, and I am very excited at the thought of being able to enjoy leash walks and car rides again, knowing that she is not being harmed. I really do feel we are communicating, not reprimanding, like many of the training videos say.

I did have to increase the stimulation number quite a bit beyond the original setting. What she responds to while quiet in the kitchen is not even close to what she responds to while in a high activity area.

I had some issues with the prongs not connecting. She has very long fur. But after conversing with someone from Educator Collars, I took more care to make sure the prongs were somewhat close to her skin, and that helped a lot.

I have also gone against some of the advice in training videos which says not to let the dog see the remote. I find Korra responds better when she KNOWS it's me giving her the guidance, not some random force that she can't see or hear!

So overall, very happy with the product and the service. The manual Educator Collars provides was a big help. If I had one suggestion, it would be that the clip-on collar come standard, as I think most people would prefer that.

One last suggestion on learning how to use the e-collar: There are a number of different ways to set it up. Decide what you think will be best, write it down, and test it for a while. For me, I wanted the same finger action for both buttons, so I wouldn't have to remember a different process for the red and black buttons. So I've got black set as the normal stim and black as the boost, and both can be a touch or a hold depending on how a correction I need. Same for the choices of tone/stim vs vibrate - figure out what you need in what situation and program the remote accordingly.

The shipment cost are to expansive .

4 stars only because I don’t have much experience with shock collars and I have not had it long enough to know longevity.

I first had a cheap one from Amazon and it kinda worked; this one is much better (as I would expect since its 10x the price (no exaggeration).

That said, I was just walking in Telluride and saw a black bear and one of my dogs was tracking it, and I was able to recall him after some high zaps. He came running back and luckily the bear never saw him. So I guess I should say the collar works as expected!

The comfort pads are much better than the wire comfort adapters. Glad you still sell these.

This is a great e collar. I just purchased last week, and my trainer and I have seen an amazing transformation in my one-year old german shepherd dog.

Love E- collars!

I was confused about an alarm sounding on the Ecollar. I emailed Educator Collars, and received BOTH a detailed clear message with instructions on how to address the problem, as well as instructions written in an email as well. Very friendly, professional

I recently purchased a 504 bark collar and I am very pleased with it. My dog has long hair and previous collars had issues because of his long hair. My wife and I have a seasonal campsite. When we go there my dog encounters many different people and dogs that he used to bark at constantly. After one day of wearing the collar he has completely stopped barking at other people and dogs making our life so much more pleasant. Everyone at the campground are amazed at the difference. I would highly recommend this product.

This collar has been a life saver. Works great

Great quality collar, works extremely well and holds a charge for long time. Easy to use and extremely effective. My dog, 6 month old German Shepard is full of energy and was very responsive to commands when on long leash. However, off leash, it was like she was never trained. The e collar had the immediate effect of having a one mile long leash. He is very responsive now and by using collar I have been able to get him to respond very consistently. I have only had collar for a couple of weeks, so I can’t speak towards long term resilience of product but build quality is great.

The E-collar really works for my dog. I am so happy, my dog do listen now.

Love the product, but the remote already has a crack in it and it’s suppose to be very rugged. We haven’t done anything where there should be a crack.

Works great for communication

So far I like the ability of the EZ902. It was very complicated and you need more instruction videos. The booklet was very confusing. I had to spend a lot of time on YouTube to find how to use it.

No major issues or complaints. Just one design thing that I have noticed. I would prefer that the wheel you use to adjust the strength levels either clicked or there were buttons that you can press instead of the wheel that is on the remote now. Its very easy to bump the wheel and crank the numbers this way. If there was a little resistance or it clicked each time you go up a number it would be easier to control. Other than that, this e-collar has been amazing. It has great features built into it and the response from my dog has been incredibly quick. Absolutely recommend spending the money on this one instead of the versions you get at a pet store.

Collar makes a big difference with my k9

I was a big skeptic of the e-collar, mostly due to hearing stories of people who used the collar incorrectly. But we needed something to reinforce off-leash training for our 1.5 yr old (150 lb) Newfie. I am beyond amazed at how the collar has enhanced his training. He knew the basic “come” command but was selective in when he would listen. Using the collar within only 1 week I see a huge improvement. He listens better, recall is amazing, and he can finally get full use of our 1 acre property. I love the flexibility the mini educator gives. He weighs 150lbs and works at a level 9! I also like that if he encounters a very high stimulating distraction we can increase this level in very small increments. This product has changed the way I communicate with my dog and given he more freedom than he’s ever had before! Highly recommend the mini educator.

Just starting. We used it on ourselves and found we couldn’t feel it until about 12. The dog had a bark collar on one time years ago so I am slowly pairing the collar with treats and short sessions where he wears it off.

We had two collars already and needed a third for our puppy. Love the lighting feature, especially on a black puppy at night.
