Good training tool for positive reinforcement. Our dog learned quickly with the collar. A noticeable difference in behavior within a week. No more pulling on the leash, no more jumping on people. Have a professional trainer teach you how to use it. Also, this is not a shock collar. Our 75 pound lab responds to level 4. I cannot even feel it until level 12.

I must say, I have been pretty impressed with the service. They answered questions, were quick in response and sending the product, etc. The product does not quite do it for me though. I really can't say I like the design. I feel like I have to memorize too much to make it work right. Now, that being said -- I am not a tech savvy person at all and have never used a remote collar before. AND, three different trainers told me they swear by this product -- I trust their judgment.

I have found the collars to work like a charm. One of my dogs has has an e-collar since we got her, but I do like the tens stimulation, versus the more abrasive electric shock and it seems that she does as well.
More importantly, my other dog is scared of everything and didn't respond well to other e-collars, running away instead of to me, while cowering. However, with this collar he doesn't cower and he comes right back.
I use this as I have both off leash as much as I can for excercise and hikes, so this tool is crucial to me, especially since we encounter a lot of wildlife, so treats and clickers just don't work at those times. Also, like that they can get wet, as we play off leash in the creek, too.
It may feel pricey, but it has been worth every cent. Will probably invest in a 2nd transmitter soon, so that when all together the husband can focus on one and me on the other.
I do recommend a lot of patience and awareness about your own timeliness or reaction, to ensure that you are consistent. I do need to do more 1-on-1 time, and know that this will have huge results.

Takes a lot of practice- for the user.

After almost 3 years, I needed to change up the batteries. I ordered a battery for both the remote and the collar, and also new charger (since I broke the connection on one of the split leads.) Everything is like new now, and it only cost a fraction of the original price. So nice to be able to maintain a unit, versus having to buy a new one!!!

Perfect for what I needed

Easy to put on and take off, however I'm a litttle unsure of it. The one I just purchased was to replace one that fell off while my dog was out loose. I assumed I did not have it secured. The new one has come off also. It happened when my dog was scratching his neck. So now I'm not so comfortable using it. I think it's possible that he lost the first one while running and tracking around trees and shrub. It was an expensive loss as it held his educator 300 in it.

Amazing transformation in the two german shepards we own. Originally trained with pressure collars then transitioned to these e-collars. Very well built and very easy to use. Love how it can be customized.

And let me clarify, I was very happy with the Dogtra.

My father in law ignored my advice and bought an Educator for his new dog. I was skeptical the first time I had to babysit his dog but after very short learning process on the Educator, I am now its biggest fan.

The first thing I loved was the blinking or continuous LED light that let me keep track of them in a large property. They had bought an ET-400 for their for their medium sized mixed breed and it worked perfectly. Since I have only ever had Labs in the 80-100+ pound range I decided on the 800 for its extra range and larger receiver battery. The 400 said it was good for 5 pounds and up but the 800 said it was good for 20 pounds and up. And it was black (OK... that shouldn't have mattered but it did).

It does EXACTLY what it should do, has numerous options to adapt to your training style, and is the best training collar in the industry. I pity the fools that go to their big-box pet stores and buy the junk off their shelves.

E-collar did not pay me for this glowing review but if they offered, I would give the money back and simply ask that they hire someone to write their instruction manual clearly enough to actually teach someone to set up their training collar without having to go through a trial and error process (my only complaint).

That whining aside, I will never have any other training collar for my dogs.

We bought this for our almost 1.5 year old Doberman. She knows her commands but sometimes 'forgets' them when distracted. This has really helped us maintain her focus and correct other certain behaviors that are more difficult to control - Unnecessary barking, distracted during recall, unwanted attention to the cat. The guide that came with the collar was great for getting started for people who are new to the product. We've also tested every stim level on ourselves prior to using it on Rubie. I've seen so many folks use e-collar incorrectly that we were nervous about purchasing one but having used it properly for several weeks, I think it's a very valuable conditioning and fine turning training tool!

I have been training dogs for a while and I have been using garbage training collars.
The mini educator taken my protection dog from impressive to professional quality.

The e-collar has quickly helped us train our dog to understand that aggression with other dogs is not acceptable. We almost don't need it any longer. Thank you!

I purchased one of the Mini Eduactors from this site just over a month ago. Pricing was great and the shipping was super fast. Product came in a secure box and the e collar has been in perfect condition since. No issues with it so far. I will definitely purchase from this website again for some more dog training supplies!

I purchased the EZ-900 but my opinion and design change would apply to all educator collars and could be as easy as a firmware update (I think).

Ok number 1: There is no indicator on the remote screen that lets you know if the strobe or solid light is turned on the collar and I feel the light should be on the top because I have a golden retriever and at night when it's turned in you can't see it at all. Like nothing. And it doesn't matter which way I have it facing. So move the light placement which a total overhaul and some sort of indicator on the screen to tell if the collar light is on and which modebits in (solid or flashin), if you have short haired dogs you will obviously be able to tell if it's on at night but not during the day, and with a long haired dog good luck with wvenbseeing the light.

Number 2: when the dial is locked and set via manually or by hooking up to a laptop and the wheel move's higher and you press either tone or vibe Pavlov mode when it goes from beepnor vibe to stimulation the stun willbhave jumped up however high the wheel moved, or even however low the wheel moved. So the handheld remote isnt totally lockable. I hade the remote in my pocket and when I pulled it out the wheel jumped pretty hi and I used the tone Pavlov mode I stimed my pup to the point of letting out a crazy high pitches yelp!!! So I'm not sure how that would be fixed, I'm guessing firnwhare button mapping etc.

Other than those cpl things I am super pleased with this product.

Just putting this collar on her now changes her behavior. It doesn't even have to be turned on. It has really helped with her pulling and digging behaviors.
