Nice,light,opens very well. I don't like the location of the safety as you can't unlock it and open the knife quickly with one hand.Saying that,you don't need the safety on when it's in your pocket.

The Vosteed Corsair is the brainchild of former Kizer in-house designer Yue Dong—if the name sounds familiar, you probably know him as the designer of the Kizer Cormorant. At first blush, the Corsair doesn't seem to stand out from the many mid-size crossbar lock knives that have entered the market since Benchmade's utility patent on the Axis Lock expired in 2018, but a closer look at the knife reveals interesting details and nuances.

The Corsair isn't especially notable in terms of its visual lines and aesthetics, though I do see traces of a Terzuola influence in the subtle thumb ramp and particular drop-point blade shape Yue chose for the knife. The blade was sharp out-of-the-box and features a reasonably thin 3 mm blade stock and a high flat grind that is suitable for workaday folding knife tasks. The spring tension of the Corsair's crossbar lock is noticeably stronger than that in the Benchmade Axis Lock and Hogue Able Lock folders I have been using for many years, though not to a degree that it affects ease of actuation. In fact, I think I might actually prefer the Corsair's higher tension, as it provides a slightly stronger closing bias that more effectively compensates for the lack of a real detent that is inherent in the crossbar/Axis/Able lock mechanism.

As far as build materials go, this version of the Corsair features NJSB/Buderus Nitro-V for its blade steel and Micarta handle scales. Nitro-V is a good choice at the Corsair's price point, offering decent edge retention and above average toughness for a cutlery stainless steel, on the assumption that Vosteed's heat treatment is on point (I haven't seen anything to suggest that it isn't, based on my use). The finishing on the Micarta is smoother than I prefer for the material, but the shape of the handle and the machined divots in the scales provide ample purchase even for wet hands. The Corsair isn't an outstanding value given what it is competing against even within Vosteed's own product line, but it is still a solid buy.

All in all, a good, no-nonsense folder suitable for work & everyday carry.

Sharp and compact 10/10

Purchased as a gift which was appreciated by the recipient. The unusual colour scheme sets it apart from the everyday Swiss card. The wallet is nice and the tool set is nice. My only complaints are 1) the handle for the blade feels a bit thin in the hand. 2) the plastic card itself feels a bit weak (has that hollow sound that makes me think the plastic may be brittle and prone to breakage but cant say until/if it happens).
I probably wouldn't pay full price for it but if you can get one on sale then it's prob worth the money. Certainly good for a purse or the glove compartment.

This is the second time I have changed my opinion of a Benchmade Knife once I held it in hand. The first time it happened was with the Adamas. It has happened again with the 940.
I’ve always wanted to add a 940 to my collection because It is such an iconic knife and has been ever since it was first released in 2020.
Aesthetically, however, it never quite worked for me. I always felt that it was too long and skinny. That criticism evaporated as soon as I held the 940 in hand.
This knife has great ergonomics, the blade action is wonderful and the fidget factor is as good as it gets.
I also really like the DLC blade coating and the copper coloured scales are gorgeous.
All in all a lovely knife and highly recommended.

Very Good I have done every knife at home and they are all scary sharp. I am working on my walking stick carving so I need sharp knives to carve wood. Work Sharp makes very good knife sharpeners… Watch your fingers !!!

This is a really Cool manual OTF EDC knife. Blade comes super sharp, nice deep carry pocket clip, and great compact size. Only reason I gave it a 4 star is sometimes the button acts up, you gotta make sure you press the button down to fully extend it up so it locks into place but that is also me rushing at work and not fully pressing it down till the button is pushed all the way up and pops out to lock

. Once the knife is locked it's pretty sturd. I been using this knife at work alot and its great , really cool design. Kershaw killing it like always.

Best knife I ever had!!.

Spent an afternoon sharpening all of my kitchen knives without any problems and now they are all sharper than when they were new. Highly recommended item for anyone with a lot of knives.
