Amazing Knife, So-so sheath

SOG Pillar (UF1001-BX)
The SOG Pillar knife is everything I want in a knife. Good metal. A choil for when you need to choke up on the blade for finer control. A grippy area to place your thumb. A comfortable micarta handle. A lanyard loop. The sheath is functional but the design rides too high for my liking and that is what makes this a 4 star purchase. Note, this knife will fit in some after market Gerber StrongArm knife sheaths...So, not an un-solvable problem
Response from House of Knives

Thanks for the detailed feedback, Tyson! We’re glad to hear the SOG Pillar is hitting all the right notes in terms of design, handle, and functionality. Appreciate your honesty about the sheath—good tip on the aftermarket options for others experiencing the same issue. Sounds like overall it’s still a great knife!

Spyderco Delica 4 - Partial Serration - Black FRN (C11PSBK)
I was aware that the lock release is where it is and while I don't like the location for one-handed use, I still really like it. I couldn't afford a different model.
Response from House of Knives
Jan 20, 2026
Thanks for the feedback, Tim! We’re glad to hear you’re really enjoying the knife despite the lock location not being ideal for one-handed use. It’s great to know it’s still working well for you and fits within your budget!

Not a bad idea

Unitensil All in One Cutlery
Thevutensil is a little too flimsy and awkward to use. The knid can't be used to cut food with the fork and serves little purpose. Thatvsaid, a spork in aluminium or harder plastic would serve the purpose.
Response from House of Knives
Jan 20, 2026
Thanks for the feedback, Douglas! We appreciate your honest thoughts. It sounds like the utensil could use a sturdier material for better usability, and your suggestion about an aluminum or harder plastic spork is a good one. We’ll keep that in mind for future improvements!

CRKT Redemption Crossbar Lock (Premium) (K560KXP)
Really good built quality. It's slim enough to easily and comfortably fit in my jean pocket. Also sidenote, I find the crossbar lock fun to fidget with, deploying and re-deploying the blade.

KA-BAR Short Tanto Black (5054)
I was pretty disappointed, I thought "short kabar" meant short blade -which was exactly what I wanted. Turns out it means miniature kabar with a tiny handle and tiny blade. It's literally a child sized knife. It is a scale model of a Kabar knife. Seems to be well made though.

Thanks for your feedback, Stephen. We’re sorry to hear the knife didn’t meet your expectations regarding size. We’re glad you still found it well made, and we appreciate your honest review.

Smooth action and fun to fidget open/closed with the crossbar lock mechanism. The micarta handle is grippy and looks great. Blade finish is impressive and came fairly well sharpened. Surprising value for the price. Nice add to the collection, and another Kizer I now have to appreciate.

Benchmade Full Immunity Crater Blue Aluminum (290BK)
Benchmade aren’t cheap, this one surprised me by arriving smaller than I anticipated. (Big hands) That said it’s a very well put together knife the edge is super sharp and the milling on the scales feels awesome, if you’re a Benchmade fan I think you’d like this if you want a smaller EDC.
