Kizer Cormorant G10 Green (V4562C1)
I absolutely love this knife. With multiple deployment options, and smooth action it's a fidgeter's dream come true. It's also got a very slicy blade. There is a good amount of jimping and my knife arrived with a perfectly centred blade and no movement side to side. Detent is not too heavy either.
My only gripe are the scale options. I got this green one because it was the least loud. I'm not a fan of the black and white X's and lines. This one at least was solid in colour. The scales ARE rough in the hand which is great for grip... Not so great for sliding in and out of the pocket. I'm anticipating really quick wear marks in my pocket, as it's pretty abrasive going in and out of the pocket. I found some aftermarket scales but they're just way too expensive. I think Kizer has a hit with this knife they just need to provide different scale options in G10 and Micarta that are solid in colour. For those of you that love the scales you'll think it's a perfect knife.

Thats wonderful feedback, thanks for taking the time to share Darren! When particular models do well it never takes the brand to make more versions of it, so a smoother handle is probably right around the corner!

What a super blade

CRKT HZ4 Black (2924)
The HZ4 is great blade. I was a little hesitant about it not having any kind of guard between blade and handle. but the traction of the handle takes care of that worry. The kydex sheath and spring clip mount give lots of option for carry, including on a pack. The blade itself was sharp and edgy right out of the box.

CJRB Locust G10 Blue (J1951-BU)
This was the sharpest knife out of the box that I have ever bought. The ergonomics are great, very comfortable in the hand and the safety lock adds an extra layer of protection that none of my other button lock knives have.

Vosteed Corsair Micarta Black (A0803)
This knife isn't the best looker or featuring the newest fads in deployment and locking mechanisms, but it does a lot of things right. If you're interested in the Benchmade Bugout's style but can't stomach the price tag, this is a true contender. I wasn't super excited with it at first, but when I started to actually EDC it and to break it in, I enjoyed it more and more. It's a knife you can work with securely and not be afraid to shut the blade onto your fingers. It's made to deploy with an upward flick of the thumb (as opposed to outward), which gives it swiftness and power. And when it clicks open, it stays open. Handle material and ergos are impeccable. I stropped it to wicked sharpness and it keeps its edge. And the price is amazing. I think the Corsair is one of Vosteed's simpler, but best folders.

CRKT M16-01DZ Desert Tan (M16-01DZ)
Amazing design but handle is a little bit small which is just a manufacturers issue. The engineering makes for an incredibly rigid but lightweight design. Perfect for carrying in the pockets of track pants. Price is higher then expected for the size amd was even on sale but I am still happy

Zero Tolerance 0044 (ZT-0044)
We’ve waited a while for a new ZT to come to the edc market but it was worth the wait. The ZT is light, snappy, has a solid lockup and feel, the action is buttery and it is extremely comfortable. An EDC gem and well worth the price tag

Finch Road Runner Street Heat (RR155)
This is not the most practical of Finch knives, but it’s well made and has that fantastic action I’ve come to expect from Finch. If it has one drawback it is the point, needle point might be a bit fragile, might be prone to bending. Still it’s a fun little knife. I like this size better than the 2022 version, which is bigger and heavier. The carbon fibre is really great.

Bestech Ququ Satin 14C28N G10 Black (BG57A-1)
Knives today in general are expensive and this one I consider in that category. However, it seems very well made and the button lock operation is flawless. I did not have to adjust when it arrived. I would normally remove the pocket clip but I do not think it is possible with this one without a replacement shorter screw. I had collected knives for over 40 years but sold almost everything. The only ones I purchase now are button locks because of their sleek design and ease of operation. This knife fits in most jean coin pockets as well.

Vosteed Corsair Micarta Blue (A0801;CS29NWML)
It’s a really nice knife that fits in the pocket well. The handle is about 1/4” short to really fit in the hand perfectly. The flip pin is about 1/16” too close to the handle when closed to get a good thumb on it.

CRKT Freyr Leather Sheath (D2746)
Looks nice and is a nice fit for the Freyr, but assembly quality is lacking. The rivet that holds the haft loop on tore out under just the force of undoing the snap and one of the rivets holding the sheath and belt loop portions together was already loose.

Kori Artisan 6.25" Nakiri Knife (7815-16)
I just bought this knife to add to my collection. I have 30 years industry experience cooking. This is my second Kori. I have the 8 inch chef knife that I have reviewed. Now after using this Nakiri I just bought on SALE, I am an even a bigger fan of KORI. This knife is easier to steel on my diamond steel. It is now my tomato knife as I used to use my Victoriaknox serrated pastry knife for tomatoes. The same style handle as the Kori chef knife also make it familiar. I highly recommend this knife to anyone who loves to cook. It also of course works very well in dicing onions, making the very small brunoise cut or just slicing cucumbers for a crudite platter.
