I had researched the Work Sharp Guided Sharpening System through the manufactures website and House of Knives website. houseofknives.ca showed one left at my local store. When I went there to buy it the salesperson knew very little about it. That location only had the display model left, and it was missing one of the sharpening plates. The salesperson was helpful in suggesting I order the product through houseofknives.ca. I did however purchase the upgrade kit in store and the salesperson did let me open the box to be sure all the parts were there, and they were. I would expect that the salesperson know at least as much as the customer does about their products, at the same time they were very helpful and friendly. The system with upgrade kit worked very well. I would suggest not starting with the coarse plate if your blade edge only requires a touch up. The instructions didn’t make it clear what the honing compound was for or how to use it.
