I love the fact that you can adjust the charge level, 80, 90 or 100%. That way you can save the battery and get more cycles out of it versus always charging it to hundred percent. Which reduces your battery life!

This is my second time ordering a BBS-HD Mid-Drive kit from Luna Cycle. All of the items were packaged carefully in Luna's very nice and sturdy cardboard box which helps protect and keep all of the components safe and together during shipping, and it's even usable afterwards for storing bike parts! I believe this is the only place you can order the BBS-HD mid-drive where the motor is already pre-programmed to "hot rod" 1500 watt specifications, so I didn't even consider buying from Ebay or any other place online, plus the price is very competitive. The kit came very quickly and Luna offers so many options that it's very easy to customize your e-bike build to your own needs and desires. My build was on a Mongoose Hitch fat bike and the 120mm kit fit very easily using the Luna "fit kit" parts and Luna tools, some of which I already had. The bike is fantastic to ride now! I would definitely buy from Luna again -- I might try a fully assembled bike next time! Thanks, Luna!

Super easy to install, just flip your wheel (or entire bike like I did) so you are drilling against gravity with the included drill bit. This way most, if not all, the metal shavings fall away from the interior of the wheel. The drill bit is short enough that with the drill I was using there was very little risk of drilling into objects inside the wheel you do not want to drill into. After the hole is make, carefully start syringing the fluid into the hole, go slow as to avoid any spillage. After you put in your desired amount (I put in 5mL) there are some self tapping screws also included. The kit does not include an allen key for them, so make sure you have your allen key set handy. I do not recall what size allen key is used, but it is a common size. If you have a small set of allen keys, you will likely have the size you need already. Wipe up any spillage/mess you made when drilling and syringing and then you are done and off to the races! This process maybe took 10 minutes to do, if that. As far as results go, it is winter here and I do not have data to compare against with the colder ambient temperatures. Summer can't come around soon enough!

My wife and I love our new X-1's. I just had to adjust both front disc brakes a bit for rubbing and a slight adjustment on the Glossy Red one's shifting alignment using the trim dial. The packing could use more tweaks but nothing damaged or severely scratched. A couple of light scuffs and light scratches but gonna happen when you ride anyway. The FedEx driver told me he actually secured both bike boxes himself knowing what they were to the wall of the freight truck. I wanted to hug him, lol. I used a lot of 3M on the Glossy Red one because it's so damn beautiful but I barely used any 3M on the Matt Black because it's so dang beautiful, lol. The motor noise is completely tolerable and actually we like so people can hear us coming if there is no traffic/outside noise around. Oh, and don't tell Eric we changed out the WTB saddles for our old fat cushy comfy saddles, lol. I will join the forum soon with pics. Thanks again, William...

I own a Zero FX and a Sur Ron. The Zero FX is street legal, should be license plated, and will out-quick anything that pulls up beside me anywhere. Head to head against a yamaha 400cc 4-stroker, the FX leaves it in the dust everytime (on takeoff). So why do I ride the Sur-Ron EVERY single day and only rarely use the FX? Because the sur-ron is so easy to ride, slightly larger than a bmx pedal bike, it can go 50mph, its half the weight of the Zero and I can drop it and not worry about having to get it upright. it isn't built for 50 mile treks to town and back but I use it get around my 40 acre property in mud rain dirt dust pond etc and have found I only need to charge it once every week or couple of weeks. This thing is awesome, easy to assemble, and LUNA CYCLE specs top of the line components so it definitely does not feel cheaply built.

sorry for my english i receive the pedal kit really fast the pedal and its was maybe used or had factory defect the pedal are screw in at an angle witch make it impossible to pedal ez fix with new pedal and the gear set is off balance witch make it bounce a little prob not good for the bearing .but yhea im legal now so ill try to work with what i got

My e- bike has totally changed my riding experience for the better. For parents out there looking to tow their children in a chariot having an e-bike makes all the difference. I didn't purchase the gearsensor cutout switch with my initial kit order as I thought it wasn't necessary. After about 200 miles on the kit I decided that using a brake as a cutout wasn't optimum so I made the order and installed the switch. I only have a few test miles on it but it is definitely worth the cost and I'm glad I did it.

The smaller chainring has significantly improved my BBSHD build and I recommend that it be strongly considered for people putting together an eBike. I did need to shim (using the Luna shim kit) the chainring away from the chainstay (more offset in the Luna chainring) so I'm glad that Luna recommended the shim kit with my original purchase.

Charger works great..

My fat babe has been great so far on the desert trails. Lack of rear suspension is not a problem with proper pressure in the tires. Rocky hills are very easy to climb, Bafang motor pulls real strong. Bike is stealthy looking with the integrated battery, in low assist mode hikers don’t know I’m on an electric bike. My babe has the metal gear in the motor but I’m not going to replace it with the nylon gear because I don’t think it’s really that noisy. The belt drive, IGH and the absence of a chain, derailleur and cassette is probably my favorite feature of this bike. No more messy maintenance, you can blow the dust off after a ride if you like. I was surprised how much quieter the belt drive is than the chain drive. Hydraulic disc brakes are strong, not much finger pressure needed. Quality components on this bike at a great price. The only thing I want to change is ditching the tubes in the Maxxis tires and having the Fat Babe go tubeless..maybe that could be a factory option in the future.

Excellent product. Shipping took a little longer than expected, but the bicycle is everything I expected and then some.

this battery is more then what i expected i did a long range test and all i can say is im very happy with this battery i did a test on a 48 k/m bike ride that's like a 96 k/m ride both ways and i still had 10% battery left my only con would be the import fee little bit pricey which is expected but least i know i got a well built battery with amazing performance thank you luna you guys are awesome
