Primary chain drive conversion is a great way to ensure you don’t get stuck on the trail with a broken belt. The install was not bad but did take me about 3 hours. For the increase in reliability and strength you do give up a few MPH (cruise 43 now) on the top as well as a noticeable increase in noise. It would be interesting to see gearing options for the primary sprockets.

Nice option; great feel when fast braking

All the parts you need and good quality. The install videos are helpful but if you are mechanically inclined honestly it's pretty straight-forward and intuitive. The website is not terribly cross-referenced well between compatible parts but most things for an ebike conversion are plug & play. If you are confident enough to do any sort of cassette-changing, crank-removal, and derailleur adjustments on any bike you can handle this.
I recommend by default buying the motor stabilizer bracket, especially if on no-suspension aluminum road bike at higher speeds, as the frequent bumps can cause the nut on motor shaft sleeve to deform BB housing, allowing motor rotate from jerking torque or bump; best to secure the heck out of it and avoid the headache.
Another recommendation would be to get a clutched rear derailleur to reduce change of chain jumping. I commute with my setup at decent speed and significant bumps while shifting causes my chain to jump off cassette and chain-ring due to weak derailleur w/o clutch.

I thought this was a gimmick until I installed one on a friend’s bike. I used to use the brake cutoff as a clutch but over the long haul I would get lazy or sloppy and really torque the rear cassette on occasion. The grind, crunch and pop of a power shift is nasty.

With this cutout, shifting is always smooth and simple. Well worth the money!

great for e dummies like me

I love my Luna Wolf Pup battery. I use it with my bike fitted with an equally beloved BBS02 motor. The bike’s primary purpose is as a form of of old guy exercise. I live in Austin near the lake and do a daily 11mile loop. The tiny battery helps keep my bike weight down to 38lbs and easily supplies the energy to do my loop with another loop in reserve. I usually ride in PAS mode 1 and most of my loop is relatively flat. 20-25 miles is a safe expectation in these conditions. I also appreciate the ease in which it can be mounted to the down tube in front of my motor.

I purchased 2 Sur Ron(s). I was looking at other electric moto bikes before I found the Sur Ron bikes. I found myself coming back to the Sur Ron time and time again. With the Sur Ron, you get the best performance to value ratio. There are better performing bikes, but the come at an outrageous price tag. At first I thought the Sur Rons were expensive, but after comparing them to other bikes, I found this was the best value. These bikes provide fun and excitement for the family. They are very capable off road bikes.I have more fun off road than street riding, but these will provide excellent commuting options with the right modifications. Speaking of modifications, you can “hot rod” these bikes with an upgraded battery or controller to reach speeds well over 60mph.I have only upgraded the headlight and added a small fender to keep dirt and mud off the rear shock. I ordered front fenders as well. I am considering riser handlebars, a 54 tooth rear sprocket, and perhaps an upgraded battery and/or controller. I am having fun with the bike as is, so there is no rush to upgrade. The bikes are built well and will provide plenty of fun in the future!
