Luna Fat Galaxy Ebike (Galaxy Paint)
My experience with Luna has been excellent!!!
Your products are the best on the market in my opinion and your staff is great . When ever i get someone on the phone they are extremely helpful and never rush you off. I have built a few kits with your motors and battery, every one of them has been perfect. Just purchased the khs 3000 with the attack forks and ludacris package , it is insane i love it.

Luna Wolf 52v Ebike Battery
My ebike kit includes a Befang BBSHD motor and C961 display, and a 13.5 ah Luna Wolf Battery. I have some experience maintaining my own bikes. I had no experience working with electricity and e-bikes prior to this purchase. I successfully installed my kit after watching several YouTube videos and reading relevant threads on https://electricbike.com/forum/. My daily commute includes flat terrain and a total of 18 miles of riding. My battery size is sufficient for this terrain and distance. I have put about 300 miles on the motor so far and haven't experienced any major issues. I've contacted Luna's customer support twice to ask minor technical questions about my kit's wiring and performance, and they were very responsive each time. Currently, I'm very satisfied.

CHARGERS: LUNA MINI - 52V
Overall the BBSHD Kit has plenty of power, compact size given it is a add-on mid drive system and the right bike design is chosen and high quality componetry... the biggest/only complaint I have thus far is that the motor controller was wired incorrectly for the Gear Sensor cutoff and haven't been able to use for gear changes so far. The only solution that has been suggested is to either replace the motor controller at my expense, or buy a new shifter cable and rewire/restring system to utlize one of the brake disconnects utilizing a y-cable that I would need to purchase at my own expense.
I'm not happy with either solution to be honest given that I purchased the gear sensor and installed it to utlize the new disconnect on the motor at the bottom of the kit. I would suggest that Luna check this 'wiring' issue out on all motors before shipping out to customers.
I really wanted to buy the exclusive ludicrous controller when I bought my kit, but it isn't sold to 'kit' customers. This is a big let down due to not being able to take advantage of the 50 amp continous battery I purchased and BBSHD full capability mostly, but secondly, would've solved my Bafang miswiring issue. Send me a properly wired controller or a ludicrous controller to fix my issue (I'll abviously pay for the upgrade).
Final minor issue is chain derail in between motor body and chain ring... this can be solved by adding material (gorilla tape in my case) to keep chain from decending into cavity and causing massive headaches on trail miles from home. Another fix recommended by Luna tech is to tighten chain up by removing links and/or changing derailer to a shram style. I'll definetly try one of those fixes next.
Anyways, I hope the information will help others. Please email me @ trak0r@gmail.com and I'll be happy to help/clarify my experience!

Sur-Ron X (red or silver color) with Pedal Kit
While I had high expectations when I purchased my Sur-Ron e-bike from LUNA, they impressively managed to not only meet them, but actually have exceeded those expectations! I am so stoked with this bike, I can't help but want to constantly be riding it, upgrading it, cleaning it; and while I had a few minor issues here starting out, LUNA's excellent customer service was able to help me out and at worst, I spent a little extra time learning some of the finer details/features of the bike (which is hardly a bad thing!). Highly, highly recommend LUNA in every aspect and specifically the Sur-Ron - one of the best purchases I've made in a LONG time :) THANKS!!!

Bafang Spare Parts
I decided to upgrade my Trike from a TSDZ mid drive to a Bafang. I didn't know about Luna cycle when I ordered my motor and I wish I had. I only discovered Luna after I got my Bafang and needed additional tools and parts. The wealth of products and knowledge available here is invaluable. For future projects I will start here. The tools, misc parts and the knowledge base I found here let me complete my project.

48v Panasonic GA 17.5ah Black Killer Whale Ebike Pack Huge Range!
Ordered BBS02 kit from Luna Cycles and finally built the bike up. One brake lever had a broken cable upon arrival, and the exchange process with Luna was quick and efficient. Definitely do your research and get that chain line as straight as you can, but the kit really makes it an easy plug and play. It's been a great car replacement, and I'm looking forward to getting a trailer for hauling stuff around.

Bafang BBSHD Nylon Reduction Gear
Six months ago I converted my nearly new 2017 Trek Fuel EX 8 29er to an eMtnbike by installing a Bafang BBSHD mid-drive kit (100mm), Lekkie 52 tooth sprocket w/16.3 mm offset, running off of a 52 v Panasonic 13.5 Ah Shark battery. I now have approx 1200 miles on it and am very happy.
Mods - I inverted the rear shock to clear the battery, took 3 of the highest gears from the rear cassette and offset the whole cassette outboard to minimize chain line offset in low gears, then added a chain keeper from a downhill bike, and a gear change sensor. Total weight went from 30 lbs to 52 lbs.
I live in North county coastal San Diego and primarily ride off-road in the HILLS. With a bit of programming I now have 8 pedal assist selections from 10% to 28% Current Limit and the lowest 5 assist levels use 40% Speed Limit while to top 3 use 50%. I’ve found this gives me the best PAS options for street, packed jogging trails, Jeep trails, single track, rock gardens, etc. PAS 9 will carry the front end on steep hills and isn’t desireable for my riding. I usually charge 90% and can easily ride for 1 1/2 hours no problem. If I’m doing a 25 mile 2(+) hour ride I charge to 100% and have never hit the low battery cut-off yet. I no longer need to put my bike on my SUV to go to various local rides. Totally worthwhile investment. At 1000 miles I tore down the BBSHD cleaned and repacked with Mobile 28 grease and replaced the nylon drive gear....no sign of abnormal wear but just because it was apart to that extent. I only wish I could easily convert the BBSHD to torque sensing vs pedal cadence sensing.
BTW - I go through rear disc brake pads every 250 and fronts around 500 miles. Higher weight, more speed, and more downhills.

Double Gear / Double Torque Motor
I designed and built my recumbent trike about 20 years ago. As I grew older, I was no longer able to power up hills because of knee problems. Then into my life appeared LUNA CYCLES, with its many E-Power choices!
This is my first E-Powered project and I chose to use Luna’s two-speed front hub motor. I machined an adaptor that attached to the disc brake holes (in the hub) and I screwed on a 13 tooth gear to the adaptor. The 13 toothed gear is connected to a jack shaft, through a freewheel. My pedals are connected to the jack shaft through another freewheel. The three sprocket chain ring (normally attached to my pedals) is connected to the right side of the jack shaft. Motor power and my pedals can utilize all three chain rings, seven external gears and three internal gears. Plus, I have the low gear in the hub motor. Because of the freewheel, I and the motor can deliver power to the rear wheel independently of one another, or work together.
The down side to the way that I E-Powered my trike is that I do not have pedal assist because the wheel speed sensor is inside the hub motor. My next project is to figure out a way to relocate the wheel speed sensor to my rear wheel so I will be able to use the power assist function of the contoller.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO DO THAT?
I use two 10 amp hour 52 volt Luna batteries. With two batteries, I have a spare battery. I fabricated a custom box (and rack) to hold the batteries. There is enough room, in the box, to store the chargers, in the event I decide to go touring and need to charge on the road. Because I ride at night, I use a small 12vdc battery to power my two red LED strips (on the antenna) and the headlight. For a back up, I carry a DC to DC converter that I can plug into the unused 52 volt battery to run my lights. I retrofitted disc brakes to the rear and will retrofit disc brakes to the front, which requires making new spindles. With me pedaling, I am getting about 80 to 90 miles on the two battery packs.
I have put 600 miles on the trike and my only complaint is that the throttle is too sensitive. It seems to be either full on or full off. I would like a smoother transition to full throttle.

Bafang BBSHD Mid Drive Ebike Kit
“This BBS HD was my second build project. My first was a 500 W geared hub motor for my wife’s bike. Her bike was very fast off the line but nothing compared to this. This kit is very powerful and easy to install thanks to the tutorial videos supplied by Luna. Everything I needed came with the kit including the spacers for proper chain alignment. I would definitely recommend this kit. I am running a 52 tooth Lekkie Bling Ring that I also purchased from Luna on the front with a 14 to 28 cogs set on the back. I have been able to pedal the bike to 31 mph. I very much appreciated all the options available for this build including the triangle bag which holds the 17.5 amp shark battery pack. I also purchased the luna wrench which made installing the motor in the bottom bracket an absolute breeze. At 150 trouble free miles I was able to go back quickly and easily with the Luna wrench and ensure that everything was still tight. To me, all the resources available through Luna on this build ensured that I would have a successful and trouble-free build. That is exactly what I hoped for and exactly what I got. Again, no problem in recommending this kid to others!
