Bought a Bafang BBS02 mid drive motor and Shark 13ah GA battery for my Intense bicycle that was gathering dust at home. Found the 42 tooth front chain ring too large for XC and retrofitted a standard 36 tooth. Standard XT 9-speed and by putting spacers on the inside of the spider, am able to use full range of gears but an off-set chain ring will be better. Installed a gear sensor that works perfectly but cannot get the brake sensors to work. Not too much of a hassle, ride only on PAS. Also installed Luna 965 colour display. Looks great but did not come with a manual so have to fiddle your way through. Please with 1st installation and bike works great.

Luna has helped me get into e-biking and has never let me down yet. If something doesn't work the way it's supposed to they always take care of the problem and never disappoint. This is my second build with BBSHD I have another one with another bike (schwinn) it's not as nice and has a BBS02 instead but it was my first electric bike I ever built. I would recommend buying the DIY kits as they're super easy to install and going with luna has it's added benefits of being able to open up a support ticket and work out a problem (if it arizes)

Hello e-bike allies; This is my fourth build with Luna Cycle and my first hub-motor
project. This build is a vintage styled e-bike inspired by the Italjet Ascot with custom
leather battery tank. (I have worked leather in my past and decided on thick, oiled
leather sewn with a unique running stitch that hides & protects tough waxed thread.
The tank fits nicely between the two upper tubes of a frame (Schwinn Alu1 2018))

I selected the 750 watt geared hub motor for front drive; This due to narrow rear
drop-outs and retaining rear pedal power and coaster brake; front will get additional
brake next. This bike was challenging due the aesthetic component. The leather tank
took the longest to make, about 12 hours or so. It does fit very nice and has internal
stiffeners and side reinforcing; it is held with 6 straps by stainless steel screws and nuts.
This also houses all the extra wiring niceley. Just completed 4/13/18; took maiden ride
and test ride today, very smooth; This motor cruises at about 23mph flat, no pedaling.
Climbs 10% grade ok, but this bike not designed as a climber like my three others.
Fenders will be carefully fitted, and simulated engine may fill the empty space for realism; this may house some component, snack, or beverage;

exceeded all expectations and has even pulled a snowboarder at a nice speed through
the park on an unusual snow day in Portland, Oregon. The fatty is based on a highly
rated and recommended Fuji Wendigo 2.3. This works amazingly with the BBSHD 100 or better 120mm unit. The bike has a unique asymmetrical frame and the 120mm allowed for equal crank offset with just one custom shim made from plumbing pipe 12mm or so.

Other builds are Univega hardtail BBS02 with Fox Duke fork and hydraulic discs;
Diamondback Dual sport BBSO2;
All builds use shark pack 48 volt 13.5 amp hours for interchange as possible;
(recent improved battery dock does not allow interchange of all batteries now)
Due to this, another battery had to be purchased.

All builds were successful and has seeded a small hobby business venture;
I go public in May, 2018 with a small local ad and getting the demo bikes out

I have ordered from Luna 4 times, and every time, my experience was great. I had no problems at all.

I love it. So far ive put in 175 commuting from work and it does great. I get about 25 miles on a full charge on my 17 ah ga pack. Can't wait to build the blue bike with i could buy the ludacris.

Last E-Bike dropped off back of truck and dissapeared in traffic. I was pretty irritated with myself for not securing it better but love the idea of an ebike vs driving my car or truck every day. So...I decided I'd build another one.

Found this brand new 29er Mongoose bike with aluminum Mag Wheels and decided to put it together. Added retro cruiser handlebars, a Luna twist throttle (very good quality), a great 54V battery, front and rear switched lights.

Spent the better part of a day assembling everything (electrical for lights was toughest part) and making sure everything was properly secured.

Bike looks awesome (IMHO) rides amazing both with and without power and I couldn't be happier with my new ride. Thanks again LUNA Cycle. Great quality parts and service....Mike

The BBSHD kit has turned out to be great on my modified Huffy curbside find bike. The only thing bad was the motor controller/throttle setup was awful. The throttle was like an on/off switch. Luna should pre-program the control to make the throttle a smooth linear power application. I had to buy a programming cable and learn how to adjust things which is not very clear with all the confusion on the web. There should be exact instructions for how to fix this problem or Luna should set it up before shipping the kits.
Other than that, I am 99% happy with the system.

I was looking for a bag to hide 14A battery. Luna cycle battery bag is perfect in size, design. Battery bracket was internally mounted in the bag so it is stealthy look.

There are some extra space on top of battery so I’m using it as flame bag as well.

Side pocket isn’t used as it collide with my legs if you put something, but thin papers, maps can be put in.

My KHS1000 was delivered about a month after ordering. It arrived in perfect condition. Just needed to turn the handle bars and charge up before riding. The KHS frame and components are top shelf compared to what I’ve seen out there. No problems so far after over 150 miles of trail riding. I’ve since ordered spare motor parts to be ready for the inevitable.

Fast shipping, first of all. Second, it was easy enough converting my Luna Banana with the installed shark pack to this triangle pack. I wish the battery had a hard shell like the newer fusions but the bag works well. I now have no fear of running out of juice while around town. No need to monitor how long I’m in a high PAS for. I love it!

This install took me all of about 3 hours. I had a week and a half for the shipping, so I had time to prep the bike and watch many videos on the install process. The bike is a Walmart Genesis 29. One thing I did to the bike was to completely disassemble the bike and rebuild since it was probably put together by a kid that worked in the shoe department. I did find the bearings had little to no grease and the front Axle was way too tight. The kit was a perfect fit, and I did not have to use any spacers. I did install the lekkie front chain ring since it was the perfect alignment to the cassette. The chain oil I am using is UFO drip from ceramic speed, its clean and clearly the best. This bike is a blast to ride! I bike everyday now and the wife tried it and won't ride until I outfit her Bacchetta Bella with one too.

I've been having a great time and have really learned a lot, My bike has amazing performance and reliability; It has become my number one means of transportation. I use it to commute everyday, and I arrive to work grinning because my commute has become one of the best parts of my day. I'm super eager to get two wolf packs that I've bought to extend my range and get my second bike going. Thanks, LUNA!

I had an ugly rear rack with a 36v 15ah battery on it. It made the bike feel very inbalanced. This bag looks great and helps a lot with balance. I now cant even tell i am carrying around a heavy battery back. Everyone needs one of these!
